There are different post types you can write on your blog and make money. I have experienced with almost all of these for the past couple of years as a Money Making Blogger.

I want to share just one in this post. Trust me I will share everything else with time as we remain connected.

After reading, you should not just comment below. Move to work and implement the idea to grab some extra dollars.

So who is this method for?

This method is for you. Everyone with a blog in any niche. All you need is some traffic and a bit of work. So let's get going.

Here is how I came to know about it...

In 2015, I was promoting a company online. It was doing quite well with a huge database of exciting customers. For some reasons, this company decided to fold up.

Ding! ding! ding! ding!

My brain was working. How was I going to make money from the move?

So I came up with an idea to create a quick blog post with the title:

4 companyName alternatives

This was quickly picked by Google and ranked on position #1 on page #1.

I had listed 4 companies as replacements to the one closing up.

A few days after, I had 10 on the list

What happened?

Many others contacted me to be on the list. And of course I charge them a minimum of $100

Some paid more depending on the position on the list. The company to be placed on top of the list paid the highest.

Result: $1000 in one week, straight to paypal.

Let's expand more on this idea...

You may not have to wait for a company to announce it's quitting before you do an alternative post.

You certainly know of one company/product that's doing well and a couple of others doing better and (maybe) cheaper.

Do an alternative post. If you rank well in Google, others would want to be on the list.

Here is another idea in the same line...

Do a "Top X companies in your area"

You get the idea?

For instance "Top 5 anygoodfoodidea restaurant in your city"

You may replace "anygoodfoodidea" with some specific dish you know people love so much.

In my city, here in Douala, people love a traditional dish we called "Achu & Yellow Soup" and they move from one area to the other looking for a good restaurant to get the best of that food.

So I could do a post titled: "Top 5 Achu Yellow Soup restaurants in Douala"

What next?

Rank this in Google and either wait for some restaurants to contact me or I go meet them.

In the case of an extended topic online, shoot the companies a mail and show them your post, Google ranking, some other stats and what it takes to be on the list.

Of course you should charge for this.

Did I also mention affiliate marketing?

When I created the alternative post, the first 4 entries, I used my affiliate link. Some of those who contacted me and were charged accepted I use my aff link. Some didn't.

So it depends on how you do it.

I'm sure your brain is spining or maye you've done this before.

What do you think about it?

Drop a comment. Like the post, Follow me and let's make it awesome.

Here are some of my other posts

Edited: If you recommend products on your blog, always make sure you care about your audience first. Don't pursue the money and hurt your readers.

Only promote products you are sure of their quality and don't forget to add a disclaimer statement to your blog.

I have rejected gambling offers, paying supper high on my blog because that's not what my readers will appreciate. Think of your readers first. Then the money after.

Hi Enstine,

After thinking of your method, which is a good idea to implement, I have some more questions.

The header suggest an easy way to make a quick buck of 1000$ a week, but coming back to your article, this method will only work bringing in 1000$ a week if your website has authority and many visitors, no?

Many people in Wealthy Affiliate have not reached this status, many are beginners and your header suggests it is easy.

So does that mean we need to reach those numbers as well, before we can gain 1000$ a week too?

What is a realistic amount of income you can reach if your website has not that kind of authority as described in your example (experience).

Please clarify this for us, thank you for your help.

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for coming back to this point.

I don't see anywhere I mentioned you need a huge database to succeed though.

The only thing you need that will get clients to quickly buy spot on your blog is SEO positioning for that specific page.

My example I took was easy for anyone (solid SEO positioning or Not) to quickly rank. As a matter of fact, I got indexed and ranked on position # 1 within just few hours.

Why?

Because competition was almost zero.

No one was searching for that productname alternative until they quit the market.

As a matter of fact, I submitted a post on a friend's blog a few days ago and ranked on position #1 within 30 mins. My friend noticed and got back to me on that.

So I believe no matter your level, if you are smart enough and do a great post on "top xxxxx in your locality" kind of post, you can easily rank.

If we look around, we are going to see some really cool things people are interested in that ain't covered yet online.

It actually is not the database size. But how much you can get a less competitive topic and rank well.

Anything else?

Hi Enstine,

Oops my bad I read "with a huge database of exciting customers" and mixed it up to be needed for your idea. :O I edited my reply.

Good one, your explanations are welcomed. :0)

Anyway, you suggest no big authority is needed, that is good.

What justifies then to ask 100$ per client? Does a client not look up how many visitors you have and how you rank your website in Alexa? (I would ;-) )

How do you define how much advertisement fees you can ask, for how long, the size and where?

That is something that interests me and probably others too.

Thank you for your insights, much appreciated.

Hey Stefan,
I love you coming back ;)
I picked a paid post this morning and have been busy researching for it.

So...
The idea in this post has just one attraction: You are ranking on google page #1 and getting traffic from a specific keyword.

Advertisers just want to buy space on that page for the traffic it's getting.

Other factors : Alexa ranking, Domain Authority, Page Authority, etc may not count as they (the advertisers) don't get attracted by link juice at the moment.

Even if you are giving then a nofollow link, it may not count.

That's the case for this post.

But generally, advertisers have different reasons to buy space on your blog:
- Branding (Just to have you mention them because you are some oprah winfrey)
- Instant traffic from your blog, Social media, email list
- Long term traffic from SEO
- SEO link vote
Etc

They may then consider some metrics other like:
- How much SEO exposure your blog gets
- Average dwell time
- Bounce rate
- Geo source of traffic
- Some are specific about pinterest traffic
- Etc

So if the advertiser does a search and finds out you are top ranking for that keyword that's so interesting (according to their findings), they just want to be on the page even if your blog was created this morning.

;)

That's what I think

This sounds like the local directory concept, things like whats on in our town, the best places to eat.

If it's working for you stick with it.

Hey Bill,
It does work as it helps people find the best of what they are looking for.

thanks for your comment.

How is weekend going?

Its going very well started two new posts for my site, one I should be able to complete tomorrow, the other I need to do some research

Sweet! let me know once published

Dear Ernstine,

We learn at Wealthy Affiliate to write trustful reviews and be honest about the products and services companies offer, to build trust with your audience, this is long term, we want to help people.

With this method you are going straight against the WA teachings as you say here people should take money and promote those who are paying most.

I am not sure if this kind of advice is well on it's place here within Wealthy Affiliate.

People think, you decide... Just my 2 cents to it.

Stefan, ToLiNoLi

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your input. I really appreciate this point you make.

Look, successful bloggers give their readers top quality. You don't have to face the money and forget your community.

I have rejected lots of gambling offers paying awesomely well because that's not what my readers want.

Now, if someone offers big and you see it's not what is appropriate, you won't approve it I'm sure.

I didn't in any words say or suggest in this post that people should pursue money and forget about quality.

You know as well as I do that spots with high impressions on any property sell more. Take a look around and you will agree that above the fold should fetch higher income.

That's why buying banner spot above the fold on any website is more expensive than buying spot at the bottom.

This doesn't have to be different.

Ok let me ask you a question.

If you have 1 spot to sell on your blog and 3 companies are competing to buy it, won't you offer the space to the best buyer that adds value to your blog?

I mentioned above that this method works in any niche. So stick to your niche and promote only related offers

Hi Ernstine,

If you promote only products and company services you reviewed before and you know they are good for your readership, then yes I agree it is a good way for advertising.

That part was missing, that is why I reacted on it. To make it clear we should choose wisely, who we promote.

So a better approach will be to see the reviews you have done so far and list those, then when other companies come in, test them first and decide if they are any good for your readership, because if not it will backfire on you later as the visitor who made that decision to purchase a product or service from that company will not come back to your website due to bad / fake advise.

The concept itself is well thought through and will help us to monetize on your concept.

So thank you for that.

Keep them coming. :0)

Stefan, ToLiNoLi

Hey Stefan,
Thanks for throwing the light. So I'm going to edit and point that out on the post.

Also, when you do a paid review, always remember to have disclaimer phrase and share just your experience.

I DON'T do product reviews on my blog without have a first-hand experience. And each time I write about products, I show the features and how the work. I often balance is up by sharing what I hate and anyone buying from my reviews knows what to get. But then, the disclaimer is always a requirement.

You rock and made this weekend exciting, Stefan.

BTW I hope you are having some fun there

Hi Ernstine,

Thank you. You are welcome my friend. :0)

Thank you for adding that disclaimer, we surely should add that.

Having fun here for sure, enjoy your weekend.
