Out of 12 comments I've given three have been disapproved because although I've given good feedback about the websites, the authors felt that I didn't give enough feedback abou

You simply do not make any comment about site and any other technical comment. Only about content of the post/page.

Feedback is another case.

Jvranjes,

The problem is, I've been told that I can't give any more comments at all going forward, and there's nothing I can do about it. I may have to go to site support if I can't get this resolved. Thanks for your suggestion, though.

Elizabethr15

It sounds like you have been banned for submitting inappropriate comments. Site support cannot do anything. This may help you understand why you have been banned.

Laura

Laura,

Thank you for responding and thank you for the information about appropriate ways to offer comments. I appreciate it.

What I have a problem with is that these three disapproved comments are being treated as some kind of deliberate transgressions, rather than simply honest mistakes. When I was introduced to the WA concept of giving and receiving comments, I was not offered any concrete guidelines, other than to give detailed, complete and careful comments. This can be interpreted in a number of ways, unless it's spelled out in detail to the person offering the comments. In my mind, I was giving the kind of comments that I thought were being requested.

I'm sorry that in three instances, I misunderstood what the authors intended. The fact is that two of the three websites in question were in areas that I had very little experience and the language used was specific to the area of expertise of that niche and therefore difficult for me to understand. Did anyone at WA every say that I had to understand the technical language of an area that I'm not acquainted with with regards to website comments? Absolutely not! Therefore, I commented on what I could, which was the website itself. This was apparently my mistake. I certainly did not leave spam in any form in any of my comments and never would.

As far as performance is concerned, no one ever gave me a set of criteria of excellence, (e.g, 8 out of 10 approved is expected, but no less). All I was told was that leaving and receiving comments is essential to website health, which is why I was going to contact website support, since comments are necessary for website health. Now that I have a better understanding of what I should be doing, I certainly would be attempting to improve on my past performance. I wouldn't comment on websites where I had no knowledge background, for one. To treat this as anything other than it is, a simple mistake is to treat the problem in a rigid and unnecessarily harsh manner, in my opinion. This characteristic seems out of place in such a liberal, caring community such as WA. It seems to me that it would be more productive to have the offending person (in this case, myself) take some kind of remedial education in the area of giving comments and try to improve on their past performance. This harsh "sentence" makes me feel as though I'm being completely frozen out for the remainder of my association with WA and will never be able to learn how to give and receive comments correctly.

Your feedback is welcomed. Correct me if I'm interpreting this situation incorrectly.

Elizabethr15

Hi Elizabeth,

When you click on "Offer Comments" there are instructions explaining how to properly leave comments. It states very clearly that you should be commenting about the content.

If you feel for any reason you cannot comment about the content you are free to move on and review the next website.

When I am reviewing websites it's not unusual for me to go through several websites before finding one that I feel I can properly comment on.

If you feel more comfortable about leaving feedback you can do so through the feedback section.

Unfortunately, it has become a habitual problem with members not taking the time and effort to learn the difference between comments and feedback or not wanting to leave quality comments or constructive feedback which is why Kyle and Carson set the system to start banning people from using it. There are some members, again unfortunately, that want to receive but not give.

I can understand newer members making an honest mistake, however there is plenty of information available about this topic and it's up to each new member to educate themselves.

When someone receives one rejected comment that should be a red flag that they need to learn more about what they are doing and understand why the comment was rejected so they don't repeat the same mistake. If someone chooses not to do that and continues to make the same mistake over and over, the result is that they will be banned from using the system.

Whether the ban is permanent or lifted after a period of time, I don't know. You would have to ask Kyle or Carson that question. You can send them a private message or leave a message on their profile page and see how they respond.

Best wishes,
Laura

Laura,

Once again, thank you for taking the time to explain more about how to give an effective comment at WA. I would like to give you and other more experienced members at WA some feedback about this process, however, from a person with no prior experience with network marketing, and therefore somewhat of a newbie. I'm spending the time explaining this to you because I really like WA and really appreciate the WA philosophy and business model, and I'd like to see it work as consistently as possible.

Some of us making these mistakes may be a little stressed. When I said this was new for me, I meant completely new, although I did have basic computer skills when I began. Some of us, including myself, have other work that we're doing, which makes it difficult sometimes to give certain tasks the attention they deserve. Also, I have been made aware that it takes at least seven exposures to new knowledge before the message sinks in to the average individual. Multiply that by all of the new tasks introduced to us at WA, and you can see how things can seems overwhelming for the inexperienced affiliate.

In my WA educational experience a number of messages have been repeated a number of times, so that I have no trouble at all remembering them. The first, of course, is making money as an affiliate. Second, quality content is very important. Giving service on your website is very important. Offering appropriate advertising as an affiliate is very important. Giving comments is very important. These messages have really sunk in because they've been emphasized and repeated over and over to us.

Although I know that we've been taught the difference between a comment and feedback, the difference hasn't been emphasized nearly as much. If a lot of people are having trouble understanding the difference, it may be because it hasn't been emphasized as much as it could have been. If under stress, as I have been in the past, people may easily get them confused in the beginning. I'm just suggesting that at some point going forward someone might create a simple two to three-minute tutorial (doesn't have to be a video) explaining the difference and letting folks know the price they may have to pay for confusing the two. This way if people are still giving comments wrong, they really have been adequately trained and shouldn't have anything to complain about.

I've put a lot of time and energy into my website. I really want to succeed as an affiliate. I would like to succeed at WA. At this point, however, I don't see how I can endorse the WA program to anyone I might meet who may be looking for this type of opportunity right now, because the "punishment" regarding giving inappropriate comments seems unduly harsh and not at all in keeping with the philosophy and values as initially stated by the WA founders.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I just want to give someone more experienced this feedback. I did reach out to Kyle last Thursday, but he still hasn't responded.

Elizabethr15

That is very enlightening. I was wondering if this course was any good and now you have me wondering. All I can say is after reading your account is I am glad I didn't pay yearly. If I were locked out of making progress I would ask for money back. That does not seem fair. I am sure your comments were OK and if they can use that as an excuse to halt progress I am thinking this may be a problem down the line. I hope I am not locked out for my honesty.
