What is the best option for getting articles submitted and where?

Rapid writer is an in-house software where you can write and see how many words you have. It also will tell you the keyword density in your article. It used to be needed to know that but we no longer do That. It is not a place to publish.

Street articles is a place to publish but Kyle and Carson now recommend that you publish your articles on your own website. Things do change online. Hope that this helps.

Yes it does help. thank you

What is the difference between the two? Both have domain names, need content, you montize them and you have to drive traffic to them.

blog is a web log or discussion or info site published on a page in your website, that typically is displayed in chronological order with the most recent post appearing first. It has a place where readers can comment. Hope that is helpful for you. (wikipedia- my most trusted source is watching a movie right now).

A blog is within your website. You have a website in which you are building pages with content. However, you are posting/blogging in order to interact with your visitors. You can look at my site if you like. http://scrapbookingforanyone.com

Hope that helps.

Some major corporations have websites which do not include a blog and some do. It's a choice each company or individual makes for themselves. If you want traffic to your website then it needs to be a blog and you need to keep adding fresh quality content to it. A stagnant website will not get Search Engine Optimization, so no visitors. ~Marion

Thank you for your help, I am still confused. Kyle refers to what we have created at WP as websites. And it is necessary to continue adding content. Also I have been assuming I have a website but people have been leaving comments. So I still do not understand the difference.

I'm still confused too Donna.

Simple, Without the ability to comment, it is just a website.

Yup! still don't understand the difference.

Definition of Blog:
a website containing a writer's or group of writers' own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other websites.

In wordpress, most people Us blog as a page (Name it blog)
then set it to where all comments will go to the blog page so it don't clog up your other pages, like front page.
In other words a Blog is Where people can chat, leave connects communicate, Ect.

It all depends on what you want to call it, Basically if it is on line, it is a website

I want a site that is simple but colorful. I love color and the theme I picked is not colorful. My links and all the sidebar information is grey and I can't seem to change it.

It is the theme. Select Appearance>>themes and select the criteria you like from the check boxes to sort the themes (filter)

Thanks Labman,
I have gotten some really great answers and will check them all out. It will help me learn more about how themes work and more about WP too!

Hi Donna, some themes are for specific niche's, and if you don't like the one you pick, you can always change it later without loosing anything.

Thank you.

Hi Donna - try Vantage theme - and there's a brilliant vid tutorial by Tyler Moore on youtube on how to use it - get the link from my blog https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/ericbarrett/blog/using-the-vantage-theme-by-tyler-moore

Thank you Eric, I will check it and let you know. I am excited about my site and want it to be pleasing to the eye. Many people like myself are very visual so for me its important

Oh, Donna, I feel your pain! I spent days going through themes! Here are a few suggestions you can check out:

Baseline, Purple Modena, Twenty Thirteen, Bizznis, and Flat. Good luck!

Thank you. I will check them out and will let you know how it goes. It's a long weekend so zi have the time to play.

My content looks perfect in the editor. it is formated correctly. the text colors are what I want, but the published pages are different. some of the links have been dropped.

Hmmmm. I quess it's back to the drawing board for a new theme...
Thanks :-)

It is a bit of a quandary, the templates have some settings that change when you publish your site. You can try another template (without losing your content). If you don't like it you can just applied the one you have now to go back.

It could be the theme you are using. I hear many of them work differently from the others. It's easy to switch themes to fine out. You can switch back easily also.

Thank you, but why does look it right in the editor and not in the theme. Isn't this WYSIWYG. I guess I am Just frustrated because I spend a long time setting it up and loved what I saw, but hate the way it came out published, The changes WP made were so arbitrary!

You mean it looked good in the Preview Changes but not after it was published? That is a mystery. Just looking at what is in the editor it will not look exactly like that. You have to click Preview Changes on the top right tab to preview the site like how it should look published. Hope this will help.

Thank you.
