Wealthy Affiliate's Secret Agenda

I have figured it out and it's time to blow this thing wide open.

You see, I have been unemployed for a number of months now and thus have been spending quite a bit of time on WA. Now, everything is becoming quite clear... You see, I first noticed something odd when I stared hanging out in sweatpants instead of getting dressed each day. Then, out of nowhere, when I had to go out I discovered that my jeans were actually tighter than they had been. More distressingly, I had to move my belt out a notch...

I'm getting fat.

So sneaky, you guys. I used to be moderately active, but now.... now I sit in front of the computer all day, typing, reading, planning... And as the days go by, I get bigger. I'd love to say that it's knowledge and experience accumulating in my belly, but I don't think anyone would buy that...

Worst of all, a fair bit of my time on WA is at night. In the early evening I am with my family. Then I have to read to and cuddle my younger son so he can go to sleep, followed by giving my wife a massage so she can go to sleep (she has a hard time unwinding and relaxing enough to sleep, so I give her a massage to facilitate things...). That means I get back on my computer a bit late and stay up until perhaps 1 or 2 AM most nights, only to get back up at 7 with my son. So in order to stay awake and focused on what I am doing, I snack.

How does this relate to WA, I hear you ask. Well, think about it. What is Kyle's site that we keep seeing in the training? How to Lose Belly Fat! They get us addicted to WA and make us sedentary, while showing us Kyle's site in the training! Wow! Creating your own audience, eh, Kyle? Hmm....

Disclaimer (because it's 2017 and everything needs a disclaimer):

No, I don't really thinks it's a big conspiracy. I'm just alarmed that I seem to have misinterpreted "personal growth". Lol

LOL

ha ha ha !

I had to build a website just to publicly commit to losing weight!

Whatever it takes!
I have started to do my reading while on a treadmill.

Well done Craig. You cracked it and thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

Just doing my civic duty.

good post take care of your body good luck

Thanks.
I keep saying there's more of me to love, but no one's buying that, either!

Craig, I'm so with you! I've also put on weight since I've been at home, but I'm trying now to get back into gym! No excuse for me, I've got a working gym in my home - I used to train people as a personal trainer...I know what to do, just need to do it!

I'm not sure if you have the same issue as me, but I tend to obsess a little when I start on something. I like to just do it and get it done. Unfortunately, learning here at WA will never *be* done. There will always be more to learn and to do, ways to improve our site, generate more traffic, etc etc etc

You're right, the learning will never be done! Sometimes I feel overwhelmed...and often spend long hours on the computer! A lot more time than one normally spends in a 9-5 job.

I'm still waiting to actually earn anything from this, but I'm enjoying learning so much! I second guess myself a lot...wondering now if I should start a second blog in the hopes that it will be better at producing income. However, I'll finish the entire process - almost done - before I start another I think!

I enjoy reading what you write as I do identify with you. Best of luck here, I guess it's only a matter of time for success to strike if one is consistent!

Well, I seem to be getting some actual, organic traffic now, so I take that as a sign of things working, even if it isn't paying anything yet. Step by step.

Nice work lol Ours is success and well being.

Craig, my belt is already adjusted two notches more and the joints are getting stiff. Anyway, on to the other and better halves of our lives.

When your wife gets home from the hospital/clinic, try soonest to change her state by changing her body position and walk however tired she may be before you even do the massage. Let her briefly mention the day to you and then speak about trivial, happy things, even a joke if you can to shift her focus. Get her to focus on something happy and lighthearted.

I appreciate what you go through as my other half, as told you previously, came home the other day also after a hectic day in a similar fashion.

Thanks.

I always do my best to lighter her mood and I am always available for her to unload on. She says that's why she keeps me. ;P

My wife (and probably yours, I'd imagine) is constantly thinking, planning, preparing... She finds it difficult to let go of things. Her mind is extremely active. My being at home and not working is also adding to her stress, unfortunately, so I do what I can to help.

Thanks for the response and advice! Nurses are a special bunch and we have to do what we can to support them!

Mine simply switches off and doesn't even want to think! My mother, when she was alive was also in the nursing profession so I am fully aware of what you go through.

I hope the advice lightens your task a little. We have to be the backup for wonderful people that care for others and deal with life and death on a daily basis.

Wishing you well!

LOL! Great post,Craig.

Wayne

Thank you!

Lol! Hi Craig, this is funny but i would recommend you give some time every day for health and fitness! It could be a 30 min walk or a 30 minute strength exercise at home.
Every single day we have the choice to MAKE choices towards a certain direction and every day is a new opportunity to make the right choices. The direction can either go forward or backward since life is changing all the time, it does not remain stable somewhere.
It's hard but that's life.
We have to take care of ourselves in a spiritual, intellectual and physical level in order to be well balanced and healthy.
I'm sending you a lot of positive energy and have a great weekend!

Thank you!

I agree totally. I generally manage to stay on top of things, but it surprised me how much I had managed to let things slide on the physical side. It's purely because I desperately want to succeed here and I have allowed myself to focus on it to the exclusion of other things.

I'm working to correct that balance. ;)

This is good Craig!! You cracked our secret agenda!! I had a laugh while I read this with my morning coffee. Have a great day :-)

Thanks Carson! It's always pretty cool to me when something I write gets the attention of the "big guys".
