Do I need content too be indexed with google and if so what content should I have? How much do I need?

Good Question.

Good question and good answer, thanks :)

Getting indexed means Google has found your website, but if your website has no content it won't have keywords, so people will not find it when they are doing a keyword search. They will only find the website when they type in your site's URL.

Thank you very much that makes great sense. It's amazing how easily confusion sets in. Happiness is clarification. Lol

Ive been indexed for a while now and still have no content for the world to see.

Google is not just looking for a 'website', it (they are looking for content. If you have none, there is nothing to see. if there is nothing to see, they have nothing to show anyone else when they are searching for..... what? since, without content, you do not have keywords for Google to 'key' in on.

You do not have something for Google until you have content!

Hmm mm..I'm reading the comments and am a bit confused. Getting indexed is one of the first accomplishments in the training and it happens when we set up the page with no content. Right? My understanding of it is that Google has recognized our site but hasn't ranked it yet. I'll keep reading for any clarification. Thanks for asking the question. Debbie

Unless you have content you don't have well dispersed keywords so yes you need it. Number of keywords depends on paragraph number and density. Don't over stuff!

No. But having and adding content on your site frequently helps Google bots visit your site often.

Yep, you want to have content. When Google indexes your content it is looking over your page to see what is there and if it wants to add it to their search engine results.

The more content you have the more options you have to get noticed by Google and eventually people doing searches for what you are writing about.

adding new and fresh content is a continuous thing. The content you add is up to you, but should around the theme of your web-page you created. So if you are writing about popcorn, your content should be focused around popcorn related things. And you can create affiliate links for popcorn poppers and such related items. Hmmm... that just game me an idea...

Anyway, yes, you want to add content to your site so Google can index it and add it to their search results. The more you add the better over the life of your web page.

You will learn a lot about this as you continue on with the training.
