Would it make sense (SEO wise) to point an un-used domain to an existing website that is live?

Only if they are about identical topics. For example you could do something like point orange-juice.com to orangejuice.com, but I wouldn't point needlepoint.com to orangejuice.com.

Charles,
Are you following the lessons under the Green Get Started Tab?
When you 1st open up WordPress if you have not written anything that is the info a blank page will generate.
As you start writing and using your keyword this information will automatically fill in for you.
Did you complete your About Me page?
If so that page would have the information filled in for you.
Let me know if you still need assistance.
Gary
Thanks Gary. I did fill up the information and there is a "About Charles" page; but not sure if they are my keywords.

How did you add an image to the corresponding post on the HOME page? My home page only has the synopsis of the blog post - www.sgaffiliate.com
Thanks in advance...Charle
I can see there is no Homepage yet but one article (post).
What you have is blogroll and the reading setting is pointing the front-page to latest posts.
Create a new page and you may call it Home or Homepage or anything you like, and once completed, go to the reading setting and point the front-page to this new page you just created.
Now you have a homepage.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi Marion, Thank you for your video. I too was wondering how to add featured images, and your video helped. Take Care, Jenny.
