Why I Took 2 Months to Reach Level 2? Newbies, Attention Please.
Because I Made 3 Mistakes:
1. I started with a "niche" thinking about money, get stuck somewhere in the training, only to find that it's not the niche I'm passionate about. Then switched to Bootcamp for sometime and hit a bump another time. Finally followed my passion and without thinking about money. That "Finally" took me 5 weeks after joining WA.
2. I'm "no writer", fell into "Writer's Block Syndrome" often, and wasted hours without producing anything. It took me more than a week to write my first post. One evening struggling with Writer's Block, I took a break to read a book I love, it gave me some inspiration to write a new blog and got my momentum to continue the post. I followed the trick afterwards and carry on writing 3 more posts to my site to complete level 2.
3. I followed the training, got some problem doing the tasks, and tried to fix by myself. I didn't realize the Power of Community in WA. Actually, most of the problems have been encountered by fellows before, and the solution is already here! It could take me an hour to solve a problem by myself while a solution is readily available in WA community in a minute.
A Word to Newcomers
I'm just a Premium Starter, who took 2 months to complete 2 levels. I'm not in the position to teach you. Yet you are welcome to learn from my mistakes. Help yourselves, please.
- Follow your passion. Go for a niche you're passionate about, even you have no idea about how to make money with it for the time being. Then you will move much faster in the learning and enjoy more on the journey as well. Some day money will come to your surprise. Still not convinced? Read this great blog from a fellow of us.
- Take a Break. Congratulation if you are a writer who finish a post of 1,500+ words in no time. Otherwise, you might also fall into "Writer's Block" from time to time. Perhaps taking a break like reading a book, brew a cup of coffee, go for a run, play with your kids or grandchildren... could keep you refreshed and inspired when going back to your writing. Sometimes we can move faster by slowing down.
- Look for help. Whenever you have a problem about your training and learning in WA, don't keep it to yourself. Search on the platform, post a question, live chat your fellows, even PM someone who doesn't know you! There IS an answer here. Don't waste time reinventing the wheel. Hitch-hike instead!
My dear fellows, though I can't teach you anything, I'm here to give a hand.
Welcome to WA Community!
And remember to Like, Comment, and Share!
Cheers,
Brian

Brian,
You are so right.
I know my niche and should do after 40+ years working at it.
I know how to write, no problem as I have had to do that in my professional career as part of the normal day.
So, the missing ingredient is trying to follow the training in some logical order and trying to ‘publish’ what I have written so I can then review how the website looks as I progress. Somehow, that does not seem to be coming together! I will take a few days out and take another shot at it later this week.
Any suggestions st this point would be welcome.
Best,
John
Hi John,
Thank you for reading and your comment.
It's great you are clear about your niche, and good in writing. The training is well-organized so we put one puzzle at a time, with time, the puzzles will come together to give us a meaningful picture.
All the best!
Brian
I too feel like it is taking me quite a while to get through the training but I am intentionally taking my time. Doing something right the first time may seem time consuming but it is better and usually more time efficient than going back to re-do (something I am quite familiar with!).
Yes, I'm still making mistakes along the way but these mistakes are events that are as valuable a learning tool as the training itself.
Hang in there Brian - You are doing great!
Slow and steady wins the race!
Susan
Thanks Susan. Mistakes are just a part of the learning curve. They made us stronger to move forward. All the best! Brian
Everybody starts as a newbie. Training, be they slow or fast will lead us to something. Your advises are so helpful.
More luck!
Marita
Thank Marita. There's so much to learn in WA, the key is follow the training, whether slow or fast. Have a nice day! Brian
Wise words and advice Brian!
Concerning help, we often think we are in it alone and don't ask for help, however, WA is such a supportive community where help is never too far off.
Hi Jacqueline, definitely WA is a supportive community. Thank you for reading and your comments. All the best! Brian
GREAT ADVICE! I too, had trouble settling on just ONE niche, but since I made a choice to follow my heart, I have taken off!
Thanks Virginia. Read your post and glad to know you achieved so much in less than 4 weeks. Following your heart is the key. Best wishes! Brian
Thanks! Now I need some more direction...

You are so right about following your passion. I've tried a few things in the past, always thinking about what would be most profitable and it just didn't work out.
The best lesson I have learned so far (and learned it early) here at WA is to follow your passion. It makes all the difference.
Thanks for reminding us.
Thanks Linda. Once we follow our passion, everything's moving forward. Have a nice day! Brian
