How To Make Money Selling Beauty Products - Be Specific
Are you a stay at home mom or a woman looking for a simple way to create a source of income? I will tell you how to make money selling beauty products WITHOUT actually selling them. Let me explain.
DID I JUST CONTRADICT MYSELF?
You are probably asking yourself, how can I make money in this niche if I do not need to sell these products? Simply put you will use an aspect of IT (Information Technology) and monetize it with Affiliate Marketing.
I am sure you may have heard the term Information Technology but probably didn't know what it actually is. It's definition is broad. By you reading this blog, I am using IT to share information you can use, even to make money.
The internet is one big IT community where people use the technology of computers and software to share information that will benefit others. Some just share the information and many others earn income from it.
Look at that last IT example in the image above. "Content management software for blogging and collaboration." Billions of people make money using IT and Millions do so by creating Affiliate Marketing blogs.
This is how you will earn an income with beauty products. You will provide "specific" information that women are seeking and recommend products that will satisfy their needs. It is really quite simple. Keep reading.
NARROW YOUR NICHE AND BE SPECIFIC
In order for you to have the best chance at making money in the very popular and very broad niche of beauty products, you will need to narrow the focus of your niche. You want the information you share to be specific.
Instead of promoting makeup that will make a woman look beautiful, you will want to promote cosmetics that will make a woman with dry or oily skin beautiful. Do you see how I narrowed down this broad niche?
Here is another specific example. Suppose you are an African American or another woman of color. The cosmetics for these demographics will be differently used than for women with lighter skin tones. Be specific.
Another way to be specific is focusing in on an area of the body other than the skin. Areas such as nails, eyes and of course, lips. My good friend Taylor Futch, in the above and below pictures, is a perfect example.
She is a HUGE fan of Ulta Beauty products. If she wanted to create an Affiliate Marketing website business doing Ulta Beauty products reviews of just those that she uses, she could earn income by monetizing these reviews.
HOW DOES THE MONEY MAKING WORK?
Have you ever gone on Google to get your questions answered about products you are looking to buy, or to research which products may solve your problems? I know I always seek out reviews for new products I haven't yet tried.
Most times when reading these reviews you will come across an advertisement link in the form of a small picture with text and a Buy Now button. This is what's known as an Affiliate Link. Some could be a simple looking text link.
They mainly appear in the bottom half of the product review, at the point where most people reading the review, are ready to buy. If a blog reader clicks on the link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission on that sale.
However, before you can start raking in the money, you have to create a website / blog that provides information about the products you are reviewing, and you want to be thorough enough so your reader has all the answers.
If my friend Taylor decided to blog about how an Ulta Beauty Lip Gloss makes her lips more full, providing info on how it works and what she likes / dislikes about it, she could monetize her review with Ulta Beauty affiliate links.
RECOMMEND, NO SELLING REQUIRED
People doing research for products online, are more often than not, going to believe the information a blogger is telling them than what the retailer is saying. When you have knowledge to share, you can earn income.
Taylor told me that the majority of the beauty products she uses are from the Ulta Beauty brand. Women seeking a truthful review would take her recommendations and make a purchase, thus paying her a commission.
For example, did you know a woman can get full kissable lips from just using a lip gloss? No Botox injections required. I wouldn't have known that if Taylor didn't explain it to me. Not like I would need to enhance my lips. :-)
She didn't have to sell me on it. All she does is give her in-depth honest opinions, recommend the products and provide an affiliate link where people can make the purchase. You get paid to recommend other people's products.
This is how Affiliate Marketing works and it can be in any niche. Fishing Gear, Hiking Equipment, Children's Clothing, Auto Parts, CBD Oil, Sci-Fi and Horror Movies, Kitchen Appliances & MORE, are all niches in Affiliate Marketing.
HOW TO KNOW IF THERE IS AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM YOU CAN JOIN FOR FREE?
Whenever you are on a retailer website, scroll all the way down to the bottom where the extra information and links appear. If you see a link that says "Affiliates" then they have a Free Affiliate Program you can join and earn.
As you can see in the above screenshot, Ulta Beauty has an Affiliate Program, and just for the record, so does Sephora, that other popular beauty products company. Beauty products are very lucrative once you select your niche.

I knew the Beauty Industry was huge and quite profitable, but didn't really know how huge and profitable until my friend mentioned to me about some of the more unique yet popular products she uses. Made my head spin at the possibilities. LOL
