A few days ago I posted a blog here on WA that was a 10 multiple choice question quiz. The questions were a bit more challenging than my first quiz of a few months ago. In that quiz, 2 members got all 10 correct.

However in this Part 2 quiz, no one scored a perfect 100, but two members came close with 8 out of 10 correct answers. The results are below and the correct answers just below the results.

If you have any questions about the correct answers, please leave them in the comments so I can respond and others can read them and learn from them as well.

RESULTS ARE...

I was pretty sure of the ones I got wrong however I disagree with some answers.
3. You're supposed to also place the keyword in a heading (H1 or H2). But this wasn't an option - I should have chosen the one closer to it ;)
5. I agree with Loes on this one :) I always enter in my own.

Great quiz though :) Very informative and gives the brain some exercise.

The H1 or H2 heading tag in most cases and with most themes is created from the Title Meta Tag. It is not something we have to create within the body of our content if we choose not to, nor is it needed to get Google page one rankings.

Question 3 was about placing keywords in your content and since it is not necessary to create an H1 or H2 heading tag, as this is done from the page or post title, I was asking how many times should a keyword be placed in the body of the content.

Though I do agree with Loes, Question 5 is solely about the Keyword Meta Tag. It has nothing to do with the Social or Description Meta Tag which she explains in her comment. See my reply to her comment and the image I attached.

got it :) I actually don't use all in one but use Yoast instead. I follow the guidelines it gives and has worked fine so far.

I used to use Yoast, but once I found that I was able to consistently get high rankings without following their red, yellow, green light guidelines, I went back to the All in One.

But if you or anyone else is happy using Yoast, then continue using it. When I do my SEO trainings, blogs and quiz questions, I base them on the AIO plugin that is installed on websites here at WA.

Because many here use Yoast, I think for the future I will have to convey which plugin I am describing keyword functionality for.

Congratulations Lauren and Gary. Great post Robert.

Thank you Ange.

Thanks Robert. Cool to be one of the Top scorers this time around. :) Congrats to Gary @GaryJnr.

You are welcome Lauren. Congrats to you and Gary.

Thanks so much. This is very helpful to me. For #10 Google ranking, what is the target keyword I can use since my website has a few keywords?

You are welcome.

Your target keyword is the keyword you used for the particular page or post you created. If you did not use any specific keyword, then you will have to used Google Search Console to see where your page or post is ranked.

That's what I thought:)!
1,3,5,7 the Google keyword and tag question. I advise the people correct with: there are top members here who say you don't have to fill in keywords or tags, you can trust them on this.

For me, I do fill in the keywords and tags, because I don't trust Google with this. I have tried it out, and when I do not fill in the Social meta of the All in One, Google makes a terrible mess of the meta description.
I don't like descriptions as:
Loes Knetsch © Amazing Community, Jaaxy keyword research toolworkathomefuture@gmail.com Wealthy Affiliate scam...

Which change into, when I fill in the AIO social meta description:

Wealthy Affiliate is an Amazing Business Community, read more about it on the FAQ page, Wealthy Affiliate is founded in 2005 as an open online education resource. Read more...

Anyway, great quiz:)

I agree with you Loes for the reasons you said. I type it in how I believe it best matches the needs of my audience. I know that google may or may not change it at their discretion.

Only question 5 has to do with the Keyword Meta Tag, see attached image, and it is the ONLY Meta Tag that is not used for SEO purposes anymore. Google and the other search engines stopped using it as far back as 2013/2014 to prevent gaming their ranking algorithm.

One big problem that many members have is that they confuse Meta Tags with Post Tags. The Meta Tags appear under the WordPress editor window, as is shown in the attached image. Post Tags appear to the right of the editor window and are only available when creating posts and not pages.

I definitely agree with you about making sure your Social and Description Meta Tags are filled out to how you want it, because sometimes what is displayed in Google looks stupid, as you have described above.

This is one of the main reasons why I write the first paragraph on all of my content to read just like I want the Description Meta Tag to say. Even if I am doing a review, I start my content in this way. It almost always prevents Google from displaying something far from what I want.

Now I have seen Jay mention that he does not use keywords in his Post Tags. Though that is his course of action does not mean it is something that needs to be done by all. Like you, I do put keywords in my Post Tag, not the Keywords Meta Tag, and I have been ranked highly because of that tag.

So when it comes to using keywords, the hard and fast rule is to NOT put them into the Keywords Meta Tag, see attached image, because Google doesn't consider it for SEO anymore. They stopped because this is how people were keyword stuffing their content, and we all know how bad keyword stuffing is for our rank.

Thank you:) I wonder, why doesn't the SEO All in one delete this box, when it's not relevant for Google SEO anymore?

That is a good question and I think they maybe starting to do so, unless it is theme related, because I have seen many members claim that they do not see their Keywords Meta Tag.

I also have a couple of websites that do not show the Keywords Meta Tag either. Just look at the attached image of another website I created. As you can see there is no more Keywords Meta Tag under the Description Meta Tag.

You have to check the box for keywords in your settings

Yes, you are correct.

By default that setting used to always be set to Enabled. But now it seems that it is the opposite because I never had to enable it for all of my earlier websites, only for the more recent ones.

I know, it changed a few upgrades ago from enabled by default into disabled by default

WOW! The quiz has all the good intentions. Assisting us remember the WA lessons. Thank you

You are welcome Mutai. It is always helpful to get a bit of a refresher test in the things we learn here at WA

Am glad you gave the idea of refresher courses more than a thought. I look forward to more

I missed seeing the test, this time!!

No problems. There will be others in the near future.

Oh this is great, I enjoyed just getting the answers. Well done to the top two.

Thank you. I am happy you liked it.

I missed participation altogether. Would love to participate in the future. All the same pretty good and engaging... More grease to your elbow!

I am sure I will be doing another quiz in the near future.

In question #5 are you referring to the tags under the featured image? That need to be blank?

Im wondering the same question. It's either there or the all in one SEO keyword box. We should always put keywords in there right?

According to Jay, it would be the same as in Yoast Focus keyword, that would be a yes.

Jay just answered me and said there is no need for a keyword in tags cause they carry no SEO value.

No. I am not talking about Post Tags. In number 5 I am talking about the Meta Keywords Tag. According to Google you should not put any keywords in the Meta Keywords Tag because Google and no other search engine uses that tag anymore.

They stopped using that tag back in 2013/2014 because people that put keywords in that tag were punished for keyword stuffing. So now the search engines do not consider that tag for SEO and recommend that people avoid that tag.

No, you always leave the Meta Keywords Tag under the editor window blank. Google say to pay not attention to that tag because they and no other search engine uses that tag for SEO any more.

Thanks Robert.
