Core “Business Start Up” Training

Hi everyone

How di I add a new tab to the main menu?

I currently have

home

about

privacy policy

I would like a few more eg inspiration, book

Hey Jim-bo
I've seen this training before but I was trying to create something little different. I've found the training on Youtube.
Please check out the site now and let me know what you think

https://femalemuslimblogger.com/

Thanks as always
Rif

Awesome stuff, Rif. I would move the privacy policy off the top menu and place it on a footer menu instead.
Nobody wants to read that anyways, it's just taking up valuable real estate on top menu. Same goes for affiliate disclaimer.

Site's coming along nicely, though I still am not sure what your niche is?

Sound advice again Jim-Bo. Will try and work through and do this soon. Day 18 of Ramadan so a alck of sleep, food, water and crazy sleep pattern is making it difficult to work on my side hustles.. but I'll get there .

The mysterious niche....! I'm not sure myself yet but I'm thinking it's going to be self-development and coaching. I'm priming the audience at the moment and learning how to create my e-boooks, coaching programme. The niche in my head is self development and health, life and business coaching. I just completed a short coaching course with University so lots going on behind the blog!
Pleas do forward any relevant training you feel I might benefit from.

Stay happy and helpful!
Thanks as always
Rif

go to appearance, menus, and have a play in there.

Here's something you can do.

Create a free siterubix subdomain.

Use it to practice things on without worrying about harming your main site.

You can play to yur heart's content on there and learn lots in the process. And it only takes 1 minute to set up one of those sites.

Hope this helps.

easy, go to menus inside your dashboard in WP. I think that's inside the left dashboard under appearance...

then you'll easily see what to do.

Go to menu and under the main menu drag the element you want to be displayed - in your case, Book Review, Inspiration.
If you have not created a menu, you may create one and place all elements you want to be shown there. (Make sure to tick the location of display i.e. main menu which you can locate a bit down the page).

I watched some training some time back about how to add Amazon links to my posts but I can't find it now and my links are not working. It was a short tutorial on how to do this

Did you fix it, Rif?

Hey Jim-bo
Yes, I was playing around with it for about an hour till 2am in the morning!! All sorted now although i need to get back through the training again.

Hope you're all well and good, life feels like 120mph at the moment!!

It all falls into place when you least expect it Rif...you'll see. Blast through that frustration every time...

Are you using Site Strip on Amazon to generate your links?
Your links will be generated in a HTML code. So when you put them into Wordpress you need to be in the 'text' section of the editor not the 'visual' section.
When I was struggling to add Amazon links to my post, this tutorial really helped me. Hope it helps you too :)

I have been trying all afternoon to log into my website independently and not through site rubix but nothing is working. Wordpress have sent me links but they are not working e

If none of the tips below help I would message site support it could be a technical issue.

Morning, Rif.

U not got this sorted yet?

1. Log in to your site through WA as you normally would.

2. Create a new password in there under users.

3. log out of your site using the top right hand side of wp dashboard.

wait, I'm making a quick video, will publish it soon in youtube. Will post a link to you in PM.

I had encountered the same problem last time. It seemed that the login credentials created in siterubix does not synced to wordpress login admin. What you can do is login first time through siterubix and change your password in wordpress dashboard.

Next time you should be able to login using the new credentials.

Hope it works for you.

p/s - do not reset password via siterubix which will reset your credential in wordpress.

:)
Joe

oh oh i have reset my password through site rubix but am still able to log on through WA. I am trying to be bale to log on with out always having to go through WA as I have to go through my email links.
Problem is still persisting but thanks

https://example.com/wp-admin (using your own domain name) will get you to the login page. Your website has nothing to do with WordPress except that we are using the WordPress content management system.
https://marionblackonline.com/what-is-wordpress/

Hi Marion
I watched your training and followed but it still does not work. The box does not recognize my login details outside of site rubix
Thanks for your help

Try this site rubix > your website > details > reset password
then use the new password to get in from the site/wp-admin page if that is what you're trying to do

Thank you. I have tried it but the box still does not come up

Hi Everyone. How do I create one of those pop up boxes that asks for your email when you visit a site? I want to create one for my website so I can capture emails. I have alrea

That's call pops-up.
My fav plugin to create pop-up is Pop-Up Maker. It's FREE.

You can check-it out here
>>> https://wordpress.org/plugins/popup-maker/

Let me know if you need help.

:)
Joe

Thanks Joe
I'll give it a try.

No problem.
If you stuck, just go to you-tube and search for Pop Up Maker. There's a lot of tutorials about the plugin.

Good luck.

:)
Joe

popup boxes, is the right term (it's the one I use anyhoo)

There's lots of plugins for those.

sumome is a good one.

However, you need to integrate it with an email autoresponder, this is where you'll get the "code" to capture the emails and put them in the email sequence. Try googling for "free autoresponders"

bare in mind, these free ones will do until you start making a bit of money and can pay for one. I use Aweber which is free for 30 days then $19 a month for up to 500 subscribers. After 500 is reached, they bump the price up to $29 a month. that takes you up to 2,499 subscribers then the price is bumped up again to $49 a month. But your ROI will more than cover the costs of that with all of those emails, right?

popups, slide ins, full screeners, notification bars, you might also want to look at push notifications. Not to do with email but people can click on it to let it tell them when you publish a new post. There's also free plugins for that.

Hope this helps. If you need more, have a looksy in the top middle search bar for "list building" "popups" "email marketing" etc etc. Look also for sumome, as people have done trainings on that for sure, I remember.

Smiley face :)

Thanks Jim-bo. Sounds a bit complicated but I will try and see how far I get! 2,499 subscribers? One fine day!!

I've got more. :D Happens slowly at first. one a day, two a day....then suddenly 5 a day to 10 a day....then it'll be 10-20 a day or more. More people come to your site more you'll get. I'd go on a minimum of 1 subscriber per 100 visitors. So a new fresh site isn't going to see much action yet. but keep at it, we all have to get past that part. And it's never too soon to start building your list, no matter what anyone tells you...

Your easiest option is to download a plugin responsible for making pop-ups. Just type pop-up plugins in the plugin search bar and install one from the options that appear. You can set them as you wish afterwards. Hope this helps!

Thank you
