Be Careful with How Much You Take on as a Newbie in Your WA Business

I would like to offer some advice to myself and the rest of us WA newbies.

If you are in this for the first time, you are neck deep in the training and the only thing you're thinking is......."how do I keep from drowning in this sea of information?"

I love what I am learning here at WA and as some of you know, I have flown through the training and have created an incredible amount of content for my website. That in itself has taken a lot of effort and it's been hard to juggle my job, my family and WA.

My word of caution to you and myself is to be careful of adding too much too fast or you may begin to lose control.

I'm still focused and moving full speed ahead but I have been learning so much and looking into other programs to help me build my business here at WA that I can sense that I may be getting pulled to far apart at an early stage in my WA learning experience.

I will continue learning in some of these other areas but I am pulling back slightly to make sure I do not lose focus on my primary goal, and that is to build my website and create a lot more content.

Just today, I have finished two videos which I am linking to my website articles. Videos are a real challenge for me but I am determined to improve on them. I also need to finish these so I can move on in my Bootcamp training. I won't allow myself to skip ahead with finishing all the tasks. I have one more video to complete this weekend before I can move onto Phase 6 of Bootcamp.

Please experienced WA members, feel free to correct me or add to this. I am just speaking from my personal experience as I am now into my 4th month here at WA and I know just enough to be dangerous.

I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed. I am retired now (supposedly) and have all day to work on my websites. I don't know how I would keep up if I had another job! I seem to be building one website per year, I have three, one is only informational though for a recently retired physical home business. The latest two are monetized and built here. I was starting to lose control of all the work involved, so I decided to focus on one website per week. I devote an entire week to only one website and so far it's working very well.

Great advice. Thanks.

Rick

I think you’ll find that the more experienced WAers will tell you to focus on one site at a time. If you divide your time between sites you’re slowing them all down. I started with 2, but have let one sit while I focus totally on the other one. Maybe you can handle 2 at once. I can’t.

I agree. great tip.

Great post, I enjoyed reading it very much. You got me thinking about how much as a newbie does take on. We want to build up a business so we can reap the income but then we have training and videos to watch and follow and that becomes overwhelming in itself not to mention our family and our 9-5 jobs during the day. So that is a lot for a newbie to consider to take it easy and take it one day at a time and things will progress but at a slower rate and that is okay too.

Mary

Excellent advice.

Rick

Thank you so much

Mary

When I finished the certification training, i quickly developed a 2nd website.

I regret that as it took away from my progress I was making on the 1st website. I quickly adjusted and now I am working on my 1st website and now working my affiliate website.

These 2 are gaining momentum. Yea!

My advice to myself and other newbies, don't think you have to spread out to far.

Focus on 1 thing at a time.

I know I keep wanting to take on more but then realize I have to step back, I flew through the first training as well. I am taking my time going through the bootcamp and I am trying to limit myself to one main site and then the WA site. I have found with still working full time for someone else it gets very challenging.

Thanks for sharing! I’m 10 weeks into the program and still love it but I’ve noticed it’s all I think about. It’s important to start focused but remember to have a life too and not get overwhelmed.

I completed the Certification weeks ago and haven’t ventured into Boot Camp yet but keep considering it. I’m not sure if I can handle it right now.

You’re amazing doing all of this with a family and a job!! Wow!

Be good to yourself! All of this will be here so remember that. It’s hard! I force myself now to take evenings off and weekends..

Have a GREAT weekend Rick

I made WAY more content right when I freshly started. I'm going at a much slower pace now and writing longer and better articles. It sacrifices my site health, but I feel like I'm getting more quality content anyways. I have also gotten a bit busier in life since then

Good for you must find your own rhythm. And be consistent, develop the right habits. Remember you are not just building an online business but an online entrepreneur...YOU!

Exactly :)

Yep, its definitely easy to get "over your head in work" by taking on too much at once. I did that early on with creating too many websites. I've now backed off to working on the SWAG site and my diabetes sites and my client sites. We need to be careful to maintain some balance or our health may take a hit. - Shirley
PS: I took some time off today to just sit and read for a while - it was great. And this week I've added in 1 hour at the gym 3 times a week. I was beginning to feel deprived and somewhat depressed and now I feel better.

That's some great advice.

Thanks,
Rick

this is the problem i had, when i first started out a week ago, I was struggling for ideas and niche market but managed to find one area in joint venture with my wife, however since then i have had a couple more that have come into mind which can work (i think) but I want to make a start on them but fell I may be taking on too much

I built 4 websites in my first two weeks here. Two of them are place holders for what I want to do in the future and one is what I thought I wanted to do. I have since learned that my fourth website gets much more traffic and is also something I am more interested in so the other three are dormant right now.

I have been told more than once by more experienced members here to keep your focus on one website until it becomes successful, then add another one. Don’t work two at the same time or at least make one your primary focus.

Feel free to connect with me anytime and we can learn all of this together.

Rick

You very right. What i have experienced with WA,one need a slow but sure mode. I am just one months old here and i started ,i was in a haste. I even jumped some courses just to reach where exactly talks about money making machine. But i came to realise it make no sense if you skipped the basic foundation on these courses. How would i make to know how to generate money which is my wish without basic knowledge.

I had no option but to get back where i skipped and follow a step by step formular. There was even a time as stupid as i were,i tried to take normal course and Bootcamp in paralllel measures which again i realised i am jusg fooling myself.

That i too have my normal 8 hours job a day, my challenge is time but as i have developed petience am convinced with time i will accomplish my goals...

I know mistakes are necessary as a beginner but as times moves on i will learn more and mature enough to even give guidance to other newbies...I can only give great thanks to WA community and founder family for generosity and helpfull hand whenever one is in need.

I believe i am here to stay as so far even if am not that old on this platform bht i am so much satistfied with how things works and handled.

I couldn’t agree more with you. Sometimes we even need to go back over some courses.

I waited to take on the. Bootcamp after I finished my Certification training and I am so glad I did. The Bootcamp has a little different focus but it is more intense in my opinion.

Thank you for sharing and I wish the best here.

Rick
