On habits!
Hello everyone :)
I have been battling procrastination for a while now, and as much as I don't like to admit it, I don't feel like I have made a lot of progress.
Hey, wait, I'm a bit too harsh on myself, to be honest! It sure doesn't appear like A LOT OF progress, because it's not phenomenal changes that happened overnight...
BUT, I have made progress, and I think it is important to celebrate it!
One of the things that makes my progress important is that it came through small habits. One day I decided to do this thing I wanted to do, and so I started doing it, and I told myself, "BE SATISFIED WITH YOURSELF EVEN IF YOU ONLY DID THIS THING FOR 15 MINUTES, because frankly, it's always better than not having done it, as you've done for the past bazillion days".
For example, I decided that I would start running FIRST THING in the morning, to get my energy up as soon as I get out of bed. Also, the reason why I do right after getting out of my comfy bed is because then, I don't even have time to think about the million reasons why I wouldn't want to do it or it would be better to stay under the covers for 5 more minutes etc
And so, I do it, as a habit. But wait! I am a normal human being, and I am not very athletic NOR do I have a lot of endurance... SO I decided I would start small :) And I did, running for (literally) 5 minutes. But the beauty of it is that every time I go out to run, I want to outperform my previous "record", so I run a bit more, and bit more, and a bit more.... And before I'll know it, I'll be running for pleasure, REGULARLY (that's what's important really :) ), upping my energy, my health, my endurance, and it won't feel like anything complicated because IT'S A HABIT!
SO, what the small habit you haven't celebrated yet? Share it with the world and feel better about it, you've done GREAT!

Running is not my things but I have decided to do is drink water when I first get up and make it a habit. I feel better making myself do that. I hate water, but I do it and it makes a difference. It's just the little things that add up to big things.
Nice habit! If you don't really like how water taste (or doesn't taste like anything, rather) you could always add some drops of fresh lemon juice in your glass every morning. It adds a bit of taste AND it's great for your health: http://www.naturalnews.com/Infographic-15-Reasons-You-Should-be-Drinking-Lemon-Water-Every-Morning.html#
I actually have started this too, but it's hard being regular ;)
Anyway, congrats on your habit! :)
Never in my life have I exercised! I joined Curves and now I go there 3 times a week, and walk 2 days a week. Can't say I love it, but I'm doing it.
Nice! What matters is doing it, you're right, and in the end, you'll do it because it's a habit, not because you want it or not, you won't even think about it anymore, and since it's a great habit to have, it's even better if it's a no-brainer !
Congrats! :)
tiny strokes felled great oaks - a little at a time is way better than nothing and it's easier to go back at it the next time if you don't OD in the previous session
Balancing my checkbook every morning. I use an Excel spreadsheet so it's not THAT hard. It's just getting to it. I need to know where the $$$ is at all times. And I find that once I let it go, I let it go too long. UGH
NICE ! I'm trying to do it too, and trust me I know how hard it is to be THAT consistent! GREAT JOB, CONGRATS ! :)
When I'm doing something towards my goals I make progress. Sometimes it doesn't feel that way, so I guess haven't celebrated the commitment I put in to my business.
Well start celebrating your commitment, and all those little steps you take EVERY day so that you can one day reach your goals :)
And congrats by the way ;)
I don't focus on the entire distance I have to cover but on one step at a time so as not to be overwhelmed.
yeah, that's what I am talking about, otherwise, it just becomes very easily overwhelming! Thanks for your wise comment :)

Doing something, no matter how small it is, always beats doing nothing.
Yep, I'm glad I've realized that :)
