Celebrating 10 Years with Wealthy Affiliate
Yep 10 years here within Wealthy Affiliate my how time goes fast.
This is one time I don't need long service leave after 10 years as I am enjoying the peace, the ability to work in my own time and do what I want to do without listening to a boss for their needs.
I remember around 12 years ago I wanted to become an affiliate marketer and like many here wanted to earn that extra money online.
The first two years I spent thousands of dollars over time falling for those quick rich ways to make money thinking that was the way to go.
I know there are many here who have been on the same path being scammed along the way.
As you know there are many outside of Wealthy Affiliate who will still fall victim online to such scammers and certain programs that promise you the world but only end up lining the pockets of these so-called gurus.
I was about to give up then thinking Affiliate marketing was just another scam but for some reason still, held hope go figure! Glutton for punishment or what?
At least at the time, I had a 9-5 job so money wasn't an issue but still losing thousands hurts your pocket and presence of mind at times.
Wealthy Affiliate saved me
Then I saw a post online and decided to give this one last try.
If it didn't work as I was sceptical as you would be losing so much money and hope then I would give up trying and just stick to the 9-5 job working for someone else.
I joined as a starter member which at the time had the old level 1 of the OEC of 10 lessons for starters along with Level 1 with 10 lessons for the bootcamp.
Created a free starter account as it was called then, these days we call it a test trial but the same idea is to allow you to dip your toes in the water and see if learning to build an online business with affiliate marketing was for you or not.
Took the upgrade
I went through the training given by Kyle (thank you Kyle) and within two days I felt safe and secure with what I was seeing not only with the training but the awesome community. Much like we have now.
I decided to upgrade and have been a proud member since and intend to stay another 10 years or more with Wealthy Affiliate.
I have gotten to meet many great members some of whom have gone one way or another some are still here in the background and many newcomers I have had the pleasure to connect with here over the years.
I won't mention any names as there are far too many to mention.
I have seen many changes over the years and in those ten years have only seen one increase in the membership which was a $2 increase LOL
How dare you Kyle and Carson to increase membership by $2 throughout the last 10 years Ha
However, each year and throughout the year there are always constant improvements within the platform that only benefit us members.
Some changes take a bit longer to get used especially with the platform re-vamps and there have been a few.
Take time to look around
If you just take time to look around and experiment you will quickly learn your way around.
This is something I still see here is that members although we know questions are great to ask, take time to look around yourself and know where or what to click you will find answers there.
Some people are too lazy to look themselves as these days people just want quick answers but are unwilling to do some added research even if it means spending an hour looking around.
Many of the lazy ones will end up giving up.
While others want to ask questions for added clarity as we all are at different levels in learning some struggle with using a computer let alone knowing how to build an online business that is fine continue to ask questions we are here for you.
Now we have the latest updates to the platform with the hubs along with the AI-Platform to help you further plus the many other benefits included in the hubs.
To me, this has been the greatest achievement WA has given and I know there is more to come not just for this year but in coming years to come.
So I suggest any newbies actually, anyone who may be struggling a bit to continue to follow and apply what is given in the training, go through the various live training classes along with reading other blogs from fellow members as well.
Become more positive in your way of thinking, keep on creating content for your readers and not focus just on money instead focus on helping instead first and foremost. The money will come later as a benefit.

It's always interesting to hear other members' stories, Andre; your story sounds so similar to mine! I'm glad I am not the only one who spent thousands trying to learn about affiliate marketing! I could see the power and potential of the Internet, but the problem I had was that I didn't know how to do it and what was right and wrong!
It's interesting to look back at the platform and be reminded about how it's changed. The hubs have definitely simplified the navigation process, etc.
You are 100% right about the lazy members, Andre; they will probably end up giving up some! I would say that literally everything we need to know is explained in the training. It's so good to have such comprehensive, honest and trustworthy training on the platform.

Yeah, when I first started this thing called affiliate marketing I did not know anything. It was only through WA that I learned how to do things properly.
So many scams were out there guess in the black hat world at the time.
There are many still out there but at least being here and not only learning from Kyle but also other members through their posts and sharing their knowledge helped me a lot over the years.
We are all still learning and will continue to learn more as certain events change like Ai for example but the good thing is we know we are covered being here with WA.
Being here we know that WA has our backs and they have mine they earn't it through trust and respect.

I was actually making money online when I came to Wealthy Affiliate; however, I like the hard way and the expensive way! It took me three years to get my first moneymaking website up! What took me three years to learn could have almost been learnt in one month at Wealthy Affiliate, I believe!
I did belong to a smaller Internet marketing platform before I joined Wealthy Affiliate. It was good at the time, but the platform came to almost a standstill, so I then joined Wealthy Affiliate.
I hear you, Andre. I'm guessing there probably are still a lot of scams out there, but we have become wise to them!
There are people who say you can learn from researching on the Internet. I tried that, but it didn't work for me! At least when we learn from Kyle and the team, we know that the training is 100% genuine and that it is worth so much!
I agree with you, Andre; we never stop learning! If it wasn't for Wealthy Affiliate, I can almost guarantee that I would not have touched AI. I must admit I was very much AI, although, even now, I think it needs to be used with great care and respect.
I almost can't put a value on how much genuine and honest training is worth!

Yes I have seen many state that you can learn for free on the internet, YouTube etc and perhaps if you can find an honest person.
But there are many out there that give deceiving insights and grab you later,
With AI I was still unsure at the start but now I am getting more comfortable with it but still add any human touch we need,
You just can't rely on AI itself and we all know it does get things wrong even in prompts and tell you one thing then as soon as you challenge it you get their apology and then the right answer well perhaps after two or three goes.
That alone tells you not to fully rely on AI and always needs to be used as a tool to give insights the rest is up to the person to make it real for the readers.

Thank you, Andre. I believe when I first signed up for Wealthy Affiliate for free, I signed up for premium membership immediately, as I could see the potential and that it was genuine.
I do understand that for some people, it may be possible to surf the Internet and find the right information. But it's a nice feeling having everything in one place and knowing that the information is genuine.
This is the problem, far too many people are giving out deceiving information, which is not clever.
I know the feeling, Andre, I still think that we have to take great care with AI, which is almost what Wealthy Affiliate teaches us to do. It's definitely helpful when we are starting a blog post to have a baseline to work to. But I still want the content to be my own.
I find the more technical a subject is, the worse AI is. For example, I have a website on garden, forestry, landscaping and horticultural equipment, but it's not very good on that type of post. I guess some of it is my fault with the wrong prompts, but in some cases, I don't think AI can find enough information on the topic.
I hear you, Andre, I want to give readers true and honest information, not something that sounds nice.

Ah, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Let's take a trip down memory lane and compare when you started 2014 with 2024.
Back then, we had the Ebola epidemic, and now it's COVID. It's like we're collecting deadly viruses! Ukraine and Russia were at war over different dirt and surprise, they still are. The Israel-Hamas conflict was in full swing, and guess what? They're still at it. And to top it off, Taylor Swift is still ruling the music scene. Some things never change, do they?
While everything else is stuck in the mud, here is to another decade of success!
