Slow progress and motivational issues

Ok. I admit my progress has slowed down lately. After five months working a lot with this, reading and writing half the night and get up early in the morning for work, I think it’s natural that my mind tells me to slow down…

I have also been involved with another projects related to my photography hobby that takes up a lot of my already sparse spare time and brain capacity.

I really want to work with my niche site and have a lot of plans and ides, but I have struggled to find the motivation the last weeks. I sit down, ready to write my content, but it so difficult to get the words right I just give up and do something else instead.

I think it’s important that I conclude to myself that I struggle a bit at the moment. I hope you guys here at WA have some good advice on how to overcome this feeling. I can’t imagine that successful people here never have had a bad day at “work”. I feel I do a lot of good writing and work, but it just doesn’t pay of the way I want.

And I have a dilemma… One part of me tells me I should quit my current niche and start a new one, admitting to myself that the one I have spent so much time on was a failure. But at the same time that exact line of thought tells me that the only logical thing is to continue writing until it one day pays off.

So… I think I go to bed now and hope to get the urge back to work very soon… What do you do to motivate yourself?

One thing is for sure: Even if things are not going the way I've planned it right now I… must… never… give… up…

Andreas

You are not alone!

You are not alone Andreas. We all have it sometimes but we are also bouncing back too. As long you asking for help and motivation, the WA community is here to help.
Just hang in there.
Sylvia :)

Trust me Andreas, Everyone feels this way at some point. just don't give up, Remember why you started your own business to begin with:)

A .300 hitter in baseball makes the hall of fame. Consider this: He fails 7 out of 10 times. This isn't a race, the only pressure you have is on yourself. I wanted my site done by November because it's a Winter niche and I'm still working on it. I would rather get it right for next year. We can be our own worst enemy when it comes to stuff like this. You can do it.

Read this progress report, also posted today, from a fellow WA member : 12 Month Progress Report For My Site - (How To Create Online Wealth)

Don't give up! You know I went through this recently.. still am sort of. I'm juggling school and a toddler in the mix, and I get discouraged when I can't keep up. Now I am down to about one article a week on my main site. But I'm at this turning point right now where every post seriously increases my visitor count. I'm only in my 8th month, two months ago I was averaging about 10 visitors a day, and in the past few weeks as increased to 75 a day. This still is not much, I know, but it happened overnight, and with only about a post a week. And it's just another run-of-the-mill making money online website.. It's nothing special, but it's starting to put a little bit of money in the paypal account. Don't lose all that hard work you've done. Just slow down if you have to. Try out a new niche on the side with just one article a week. That should get you excited about it again.

I'm in much the same boat Andreas. Do I rest my site and work with Bootcamp - or do I do neither for a while ? Time isn't an issue for me as I'm retired, but I do have many interests other than WA.

Good to hear that there are others with the same "problems". ;) I haven't started with the Bootcamp page yet, but that's my plan when my niche site is up and running with consistent traffic. I have full job, 3 kids, too many hobbies and only a few hours in the evening for myself and WA work. ;) Not a perfect combination, but I have prioritized WA the last months.

Hi Andreas, we all have days or weeks that is hard.

First of all it sounds like you have been working to hard. Maybe you need a few days off.

Perhaps you should write down goals - small goals that you can cross over when you finished them,

Right now, when you have a problem with the motivation, you should probably not start a new site. The risk is that you give up a site that is close to become successful. And this is going to happen again - will you then quit the next one and start a new again. I don't say you shouldn't start a new site. I'm saying you should probably not do it when you have a lack of motivation.

If you like you can PM me.

Thanks Marie! Good advice with the goals. I wrote down some goals a while back but I find it difficult to follow them sometimes. Often I just work as much as I can and don't stop until times like these when I need a break .:) Maybe I should make smaller goals and stick to them.

Andreas you are completely right in the point to never give up. It seems you just have too much on your plate at the moment which is really not a bad thing. It keeps your mind sharp and that's the best thing that can happen here at WA. As far as dumping your site and taking on another one why don't you just do both. Take your time and show your talents as I am sure you have lots to go around. maybe a planned approach might help you out too. So many hours for this and so many hours for that but it is necessary that you spend some of that time on yourself as in rest and entertainment.
Just my thoughts.
Ken

Thanks Ken. :) I have spent the last few days on other things now and actually gone to bed earlier than I've used to in the last months. I have a one year old daughter as well waking up several times a night, so that's why I thought it's smart to get enough sleep. ;)

Great thinking. Self and family obviously come first. Then think about making a million dollars after you are in top shape both physically and mentally.

Andreas...NOTHING "GOOD" or should I say "GREAT" comes easy!!!
We are Frontline Soilders to lead & show others IT WILL BE DONE!!!
That's why you were chosen...because your creator knows you WILL NOT give up.
He already can see you where you want to be...but you have to use ALL that He is within you to get there...
Because ALL that you are surrounded by and ALL that you see, is dark & trying to stop you...
But again do not let anything put out that light within you...or your enemy wins!!!
That's an everlasting battle so pack for the long haul.

As far as the other niches...why have a single edge sword, when you can have a double edge?
Shoot...add a Shield & Slingshot while your at it...
But remember this...IT'S GONNA HURT, any training does,
FOCUS ON THE RESULTS...YOUR ALREADY THERE, EVEN IF YOU CAN'T SEE IT!!!

Thanks for you cool comment and advice! :) Very inspirational. I have thought a lot about the goals and results I initially had in mind when I started this.
