Welcome to the club, Mick... so many websites have been affected by the very same issue as you have experienced... and in many cases causing massive losses in income.

I was toying with the idea of creating a new website solely using AI because of the speed and the the style and how it now produces the content.

What I don't want to be doing is putting my twist on it too much because that can take longer than writing from scratch.

I know when AI first came onto the scene I was totally against it but today it appears marketers are churning out content like there is no tomorrow.

Apparently there's a new Google update coming in to stop people abusing this.

My thoughts are that if it doesn't work out then nothing really to lose except a little time.

Because turning out 460 posts like I did on the mmo website isn't going to happen. All that time and effort that went into that website only for Google to obliterate it really p'd me off and to be honest I don't even know why I am continuing because that was sole destroying.

Sorry to hear about your issues, Mick and hope you are getting past them.

I use AI (mainly ChatGPT4) for the initial draft of my content, both blog posts and lead magnets, but then add my own spin.

AI or not, it is a complete waste of time. Google has crashed everything so unless you have some other alternative source of traffic it is pointless.

Hello Wozzy, I'm sorry to hear of your loss and welcome back. I use AI for editing and revising my content. I won't reiterate previous statements, but I advise you to consider them as they are true. The Article Designer offered here is among the finest I've experienced. It performs best when you incorporate your own material, but if you need to quickly get up to speed, have it write your articles now and refine them later.

I'm sorry for your loss. It can take some time to get back to things.

My two cents - AI is great, but just remember it is only a tool, whatever content you generate, you need to make it your own - there is awesome training and classes here to teach you how to use them ( I like chatgpt) but there are alot of others. The main thing to remember IMO is to always edit it and give it your voice. I use ChatGPT paid, then I edit it in the back office or Wordpress.
You can also take advantage of the AI Writer within WA, which i also use sometimes.
Use the magnifying glass and the classes tab to check out trainings and classes, they are HUGE in learning the curve of AI :-)

Beware of scammers though, I have a website hosted here for a family member, and he got an email once to renew his domain, while it wasn't to be renewed for months to come, and he didn't believe me and almost fell for a scam! As far as I know, this goes automatically?

Hey Mick,

It was pretty straight forward to switch over to Rank Math without deactivating or deleting AIOSEO... plus, Rank Math provided me with an option to also look forward to my redirect links, making it possible for me to simply say "yes" and Rank Math took care of all that.

Once I was done, my Google Analytics was connected, and AIOSEO and Redirection plugins were deactivated and ready to be deleted.

I had already removed Google Kit, but a users is using that plugin too, and installs Rank Math as their new SEO plugin, then Rank Math could possibly replace 3 plugins.

I'm still using Rank Math and loving it. In recently checking the quality of the SEO plugins, the new AIOSEO plugin is being rated pretty low.

Yes, Rank Math is very popular now and that would probably be my choice if I were to create a new site.

Hi - I use Yoast, but only because I like the feature which shows you which posts have no internal links in them or pointing to them.

I don't pay attention to anything else that it claims to do.

i use the free version of AIOSEO don't like the SEO framework regardless if WA recommends it.

Also you don't need to upgrade they just want you to pay for things that are not worth the effort that is the main reason WA changed to SEO framework and you get constant requests from AIO to upgrade and take other plugins they suggest like Monster Insights which you don't need either.

Plus note that don't follow the rules any of these SEO plugins give, use them only as a guide they are not that accurate.

You can get 100/100 for just creating a title SEO plugins are just a tool to give you a guide, not a fact to abide by

I certainly wouldn't pay a cent for any SEO plugins, you are better using Google and people also ask and many of the other features which Partha mentions in many of his novels here as well

The basic AIOSEO is free and that's all you need.

None of the SEO plugins actually DO anything (except generate a sitemap). They just report some statistics.

You do not need to upgrade your AIO SEO or install MonsterInsights; the standard version suffices.

Also, it is not recommended to change SEO plugins so you do not mess up your SEO; however, go with a new plugin with a new website.

I currently use Rank Math Pro, but I am still learning it.
