Where do these 'tags' come from for my blogs, and how do I go about putting them there?
Your tags are the words from your posts that you feel would be important for the ranking of your document. I tend to try and use some of the words from my heading and what the post is about. It is words that people would look up when searching for something on google.
When you want to put them in your post, there is a box down the right hand side of your page that says Tags and has a small + sign. You put them in there. I wouldn't use anymore than about 5 or 6. I hope this helps.
I don't know anything about tags.. Hopefully that's in a lesson I haven't taken yet. From what little I've heard tags are important in helping to get your site ranked high. I would think that would mean using good keywords in your tags.
Yes Exactly! I did the excercise on my own web. At first I threw in a few just for good looks. I used the auto button in the post page. Then I found a plugin that checked for keywords and it throughout an error message at me to check my tags. After some investigation I worked out that I should check to see what is the most efficient tag and use my keyword too. There are a few lessons online to help and a plugin called Smartcrawl SEO Checker and Analyser (has an Avatar Lady as an Icon) Traffic improved after that.
When writing or editing your blog in site manager, you will see some features on the right. One of them gives you the possibility to add tags, which should be buzz words relevant to the text.
I use this way also, however I find that sometimes my keyword is not in the suggestions and I double check by googling for most popular tags for the topic. Since doing this traffic has on my site increased significantly. I used a tag plugin that gave an error message saying keywords not in tags. Hope this helps too. Jen
Hi Wynette, this is what I do. I took a screen shot so you can see. I google "hashtag for (topic you pick). And then I store them away on a word doc to use again later. They are recorded in you web site called posts>tags too. Now there may be another way that's easier but this works for me. Jen

Hi - if you mean the blog posts you write here on the WA platform, then anybody can see them. This is a website just like any other, and can be found on Google searches.

no, if keywords are selected right, other people can see also. I was curious about this also and searched through Google. Some of the blogs come up, especially the members who have been here longer than a year.
