Instagram Users By Country
Here is the next Platform in my Social Media Marketing reviews, Instagram top 15 countries. The numbers are based on Active Users as of the first quarter 2016.
There are some interesting countries that have made this list and even more interesting those that have not. I suspect there are a lot of country specific situations that are in play. Canada is very high, considering its total population. Ukraine was a surprise for me as is the absence of India.

Very interesting, William. Yes, seeing Ukraine on the list was a surprise to me as well.
There are a lot of internet users and programmers from Ukraine here (Dubai) and in Germany...They have excellent skills and can run circles around the likes of me...They are savvy and work hard, and to boot know how to enjoy life too with a beer once in a while (with this one I CAN hang!)! So that was not a surprise to me...
That you were not surprised that Ukraine is on the list just means you are a lot more knowledgeable than I. Thanks for the "correction".

I hope my comment was not received in a negative or what appears to be a condescending manner, that is not how it was intended at all...
It is just that I am aware that depending on people's experiences (i.e. I spend time in the two places mentioned) they may not know this or that...It is no different for me...
Stats can be interpreted differently depending on your own experiences...We used to say that stats lie and liars use stats hehe, which is of course not generally true but does happen...
For years now I have lived pretty much outside of the USA, so do not have a finger on the 'pulse' of living there anymore...I do have a lot of friends from there, of course, and connections...but it is not the same as living there...
In the case of Ukraine folks, because I do have some friends from there, both in Germany and here in Dubai (4 good and 1 acquaintance and in turn, they have introduced me to many others that travel through, live and work in Dubai and Germany) I can speak from these experiences...
Just wanted to clarify so no misunderstandings... : )

Hey Dave,
Actually didn't take any offense to your comment, but rather appreciated the correction. I think it just proved that sometimes we make assumptions about things we don't know, this was a harmless assumption on my part but someone could have taken offense. I'll make more of an effort to be less quick to draw conclusions on things I don't know.

Thank you, William, for this report. As I have learned that "Build it and they will come" doesn't work with websites. You must go out and get the traffic. Instagram is a channel that is ripe for the picking. Thank you for sharing.

There is a plethora of blogs and sites that point out the potential of this platform for business...Seeing the stats as you present them helps provide a clear picture of regions to focus on...
The ways to market effectively are another subject and since the platform is owned by Facebook, I am actively looking at ways to exploit Instagram...
I have secured some training and am doing research now on how best to attack it, with the idea being it can increase my sales for affiliate marketing and e-commerce considerably...
