How to Deal With High QSR Keywords (Don't Ignore Them!)

I've had people ask me about competition numbers in Jaaxy, specifically the QSR number and why I don't really worry about it. This video just about encapsulates all the reasons why. QSR is and important metric yes, but given the nature of SEO today, the opportunities for LSI rankings and other search engine picking up your content make one thing very clear to me:

Even if a high QSR keyword exists and you may not rank well for it on Google, there's still validity in writing about it to rank for the LSI terms on Google and other search engines, plus it boosts my website authority regardless, so it's better to do than not!

Watched this one about 5 times already. Good stuff! This vlog is def an eye opener and crushes a lot of keyword myths.

Was checking individual pages like you showed. What does it mean when your page is indexed but thereโ€™s no data? Google is not showing my page for any queries at all? Iโ€™m sadโ€ฆ.๐Ÿ˜ž

Indexing means it has been put on the search engine by Google, which is basically step 1. Then you need to give it time to marinate in the rankings to start showing up for queries.

Nice I also learned, I appreciate your comment here :)

Great info, Vitaliy! Thanks!

Thanks for clarifying this, Vitaliy.

I had been avoiding high QSR as a rule and was only going to venture there in the future when my site was achieving better volume and higher rankings.

Having watched, I can see there other reasons to not stress about it too much because there are other ways to rank that particular piece of content.

Also, the content may match the keyword perfectly and so is better written and published than not.

Also, while we are worrying about the keyword, we can be on to the next.

So, I guess, it is never bad to use a high QSR keyword, could be good but never a waste.

Thanks again.

Richard

Yep exactly!

Iโ€™ve always avoided high QSR because of the training when first starting here. Never thought of searching keywords in this way before but it makes perfect sense. Love learning something new every day. Thanks for doing this video! Iโ€™m going to try it out on my next article idea. Thanks Vitaliy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Totally agree with you here Vitaliy!

I rarely look at the QSR stats anyway....

If I believe it to be a good keyword then I write the article anyway!!

Aa you say... there are so many other keywords within an article we can rank for!

If it feels right... just do it I say!!
