Greetings To All,

For the rest of this year, I'll be writing weekly posts, of my Healthier Me Challenge!
In each of the posts, I'll be sharing a variety of things: my weekly goals; new recipes; excerpts from books I'm reading; and a few mental obstacles that I'm fighting, to name a few. My hope, is that as I share my journey, I will encourage, inspire and motivate others to reach their Best Self!!!

Weekly Goals:
Instead of focusing on words like "can't", "don't" and "bad", I decided to make some changes. So, each week, I'll adopt a healthier habit, and eliminate an unhealthy habit. It can be anything! The only rule is to adopt AND eliminate!

Week #10
Healthy Habit to Adopt: 45-60 min. walking 4-5x a week
Unhealthy Habit to Eliminate: soda, chips, candy

Update:
There was sweat...aches...pain...bones cracking...drool...more sweat...yep, I finally decided to take a stab at Yoga!

So, I think I really I can do one pose really well: the 2nd one from left on the 1st row...
Oh yeah, and the last one in the 2nd row...okay, so I didn't actually physically do that pose, but mentally, I can do it no problem!!!

I dusted off my 15-minute "gentle" Yoga DVD and was ready to get started. Apparently, I've been confusing the word "gentle" with the word "excruciatingly painful" for many years now, which is really odd, considering I used to excel in English.

Despite the instructor with the perfectly coiffed hairstyle, with the cute matching Yoga workout gear, with makeup just right and that annoying "gentle" music, I decided to take the plunge!

So, this is basically what I heard during those 15-minutes:

"inhale...exhale...blah, blah, blah...downward dog...inhale...exhale...blah, blah, blah...downward dog...bring your knees in...inhale...exhale...downward dog...

What was fascinating (horrifying) was that I couldn't tell when the instructor was inhaling or exhaling! She actually looked like she wasn't breathing at all!! Me? Painting...gasping...drooling...sweat dripping...and that was while I was standing!

Here's a question: Is it still humiliating if there's no one around to witness the humiliation?

But, overall, I actually enjoyed myself!!!

The DVD covers 4 areas: Rise and Shine, Early Evening Energizer, Strengthening, and Winding Down. I'm looking forward improving and being able to feel a lot more comfortable with Yoga. Who knows, maybe in the not-too-distant-future, I'll be able to do the following pose...

Preferably with cute Yoga workout gear, perfectly coiffed hair, and no drooling...

Strive to Thrive,
Veronica

Erica

Thank you, Erica!!!

Well done - but just have to mention that I cannot really see how this is related to the online business world. If you check out the rules you can see that any niche specific topics should be on your own blog. Mikael

Hey there Mikael,

I appreciate you sharing the link; not only have I read that many times, I also have it shaved in my favorites. Obviously, my health challenge is not related to online business, but the challenge can be related - indirectly - to the challenge we face while building an online business: learning something new, setting goals, being consistent, facing setbacks, inspiring others, etc.

Very few of my posts provide direct training or business-related content. Instead, I attempt to tie in some of my life experiences to relate to our experiences wihin this community. Just a few days ago, I created a post on Justin Bieber, who, to my knowledge has no affiliation with Wealthy Affiliate. Kyle, the co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate, was the first person to leave a comment...

I am by no way thinking I have excelled when in comes to writing posts, but after having written 6O +, I think if my posts were spam, I would have received a PM from Kyle by now. I have sent Kyle a PM a few times; he has always responded, and never mentioned that my posts were inappropriate.

As the saying goes: There's more than one way to skin a cat.

Feel free to check out what Cory (Numerous) had to say about my challenge.

Again, I appreciate your comment, Mikael.

Thanks for your reply Veronica.

First I just want to make clear that I was not questioning the quality of your posts or the content. I simply just see so many motivational posts here on WA, and are aware that you can say most of them in some way is related to the online business world as everything is interconnected.

I however think that in general (this is not meant just for you) that these kind of posts have taken over, and I have to scroll a long time sometimes to find posts that are not like this and are more directly related to WA and the training here - maybe a part of it is because many people like to write a blog everyday or more to boost their WA rank.

Anyways, we are all here for different reasons and need different kinds of motivation and I also respect that. I just felt like in general the posts that are more directly connected to how I can build my online business can be hard to find among all the other posts. Here I am not referring to you, but in general, so maybe not fair to just write it on your blog, but just got the thought again when I saw your post and wanted to express that.

About your Justin Bieber post I have read it and actually think it is more related - because you made it relevant according to WA in a quite interesting way.

Anyways, that is just my opinion and hope that there could be less clutter when I am looking through the WA blogs. Nothing to do with you personally or your writing skills or content. And apologize if it could be understood like this.

All the best

Mikael

That's interesting, because I see a lot of business-related posts and tutorials...a lot. Sometimes I find that to be so overwhelming because I know I can't read them all. I actually used to feel a bit intimidated when writing posts because I felt I didn't offer enough in terms of training. I still feel that at times; so I decided to just embrace what I could offer and let the "experts" handle the more intense posts.

I'm averaging about 2 posts a week so I know that I'm not even contributing a lot in terms of posts. There are some of whom I suspect are just "banging out" posts to better their ranking. I could be wrong, but if I suspect that, I just don't leave a comment.

I really do appreciate this exchange, Mikael as well as the apology. I truly believe that this community has enough to supply everyone with whatever they need to build a successful and profitable business.
