A Lesson of the Glass
I believe the best introduction to this post would be the lines written by English poet and religious writer Frederick Langbridge (1849-1923).
"Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud and one the stars." Frederick Langbridge.
Just go through this gallery of images and decide if your glass is half full or half empty.
If you happen to adopt a scientific approach to the problem, you might see things a bit differently.
If you fill the glass with beer, you might demand for another glass...:)
An interesting approach...
Easy conversion...
Well, our glass seems to be more complicated than it was thought to be:
Fill your glass with joy, hope and happiness. Fill it to the full!:)

Flip it upside down or 180 deg. and get the same results Vera! Your internal perspective needs to be flipped!
You sometimes speak in riddles, Mike.
BTW, my next post appeared a very simple one. Practical and helpful. No philosophy whatsoever.:)
Is a riddler poet like Churchill's description of Russia, an enigma wrapped in a riddle in a mystery Vera?
Thanks, Sue.I love the last chart, but whatever I choose, an optimist in me will take over...lol:)
Very good. I think that we are all optimists at WA. That is part of the reason why we are here
Most certainly. Too frightening even to think of starting here not being an optimist...:)
Timely for the weekend. We can all take a break from the "ists" and the "isms" and enjoy a glass our favourite tipple!
Richard
thanks, Richard. Never liked any "isms", unless they are derivatives from "optimism" lol
A glass of something nice in a nice company is fine, true.:)
A very rear person can be a pessimist, that attitude only develops when unfavorable things happen and he may not want to go through the same experience again.
Unfavourable things happen to all the people, it all depends on the attitudes.Optimists are those who see good whatever the situation is.:)
You are right Vera in many aspects of life. There's only one thing pessimism is an option. When justice is not served by the court because they control all the powers your distrust develops and you'll never let your case be solved by that court.
If you will not see any light of hope I think it's not wise to entrust your life to them. Pessimism comes when there is no hope and you know there is no hope.
I have been pessimistic when I encountered a scam but when you encounter whoever or something you trust optimism comes.
Great post, Vera and I love the photos that you used to drive home your point. A dilemma we all seem to face. It took me to this point in my life where I realize that it does me no good and actually does me harm to focus at all on the past or the negative. Wish I had learned this earlier in life. Thanks
Wayne
Yes, Wayne. It's a tough lesson to be learned. But once it has been learned, life is different. Thanks.:)

I waited for that, Kaju! LOL:)
