There's No 'I' In Welcome To Barbados Everybody (Or Team)

I've just finished washing up and sorting the kitchen out and my fingers are cold, it may take me a while to get my 'type' on. Where were we, oh yes. I categorically state, that there is no 'I' in welcome to Barbados everybody. I could have gone with 'There's no I in team' but that's been done to death.

The title is actually part of a joke but it has no place here, let's just leave it there shall we ? It's funny though and is making me grin. Anyway, back to the nuts and bolts of it.

Over the last couple of months, maybe longer, I have done a few posts that were designed to try to encourage some 'extracurricular' connecting, with some success, I might add. Drawing attention to the 'Follow Me On' section, that is on our profile. I will re-iterate some, as there may those who are only just finding out about that now. For those that have already checked theirs out and added to it, then my apologies, you're awesome though. For the record, it took me five minutes to read this post, making alterations as I went through. Just letting you know.

Here are the two posts I did, which I think worked well. Again, if I'm preaching to the choir, sorry but there is more to this post than me just regurgitating old news.

This section allows you to add the main food groups of social networking and there's space to add any other places you might like to hang out. It's a chance for us all to connect in other areas apart from here. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and so on and so forth.

So, why am I trawling over this again ? One reason is that it's worth it. We are part of a

platform that has over two million members. The active members are in their hundreds of thousands. There is strength in numbers and yet we seem to overlook the force that we are. A force to be reckoned with, I would say.

Now, some of you just don't 'do' social media, that's your bag, nothing I can say will probably change your mind about that. That's cool. For those of you that are 'out there' you have the opportunity to grow your reach, exponentially. Every connection you make has the possibility of putting your work in front of someone who might never have had the chance to see it. It could be your next sale or referral. The best part of this, is that it's free. Broken record time. It's free.

The other reason I'm here blathering on (Thanks for reminding me of that word Rami) is because recently Dave07 did a post about this very thing but it was more focused on the YouTube aspect. Here's the link below.

If you read it, you will see that he's had to alter the post to confirm with Google/YouTube rules on 'artificially inflating metrics'. Well, luckily for me, I have no skin in that game, as I don't have a YouTube channel. Hah! Just to give you a working example, I have been on Dave's channel, watched a couple of videos and learnt something I would otherwise not have done. That's worth hitting the subscribe button, every time. I urge you to read the post and the comments, MarionBlack's comment is particularly insightful and gives guidance on the best way to connect with each other on YouTube.

Another cool thing that came from it was in the comments section. Jewelia mentioned that there was already a thread set up for those wishing to connect with each other on YouTube. Here it is below.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/szeeman/blog/youtube-give-an...

Did I mention that all of this is free ? I might have done, if not, here it is again. It's free.

Can you even begin to imagine the exposure we would get if everyone started taking an interest in connecting ? It really is quite staggering. When I started here at WA, just over a year ago, I had about 12 friends on Facebook. Now I have just over 300, that's not a great amount compared to some, I know. That said, everyday something will come across my eye line and I will 'Like it', 'share it' or join it.

We are all striving for the same thing, more or less. Why not support each other as much as possible. Watch a video, like and subscribe, see a comment 'Like it', retweet a tweet, share a post, like a page or join a group.

As I said in one of my previous posts, we have a huge, untapped resource available and that's us. No one is asking for you to spend hours on social media, making sure you tend to everyone else's needs, just a few minutes a day will make a difference.

One last thing before I let you get on. At the top of every post there is an 'Affiliate' button. This

allows you to copy the URL of that post. If you like the post and want to share it, you can. There are some incredible posts here, under our noses, that deserve to be seen by as many as possible.

Look at the time. I hope this post has been of some use to you, I know there's a lot to take in above, but it's all worth it, as it benefits all of us. For those that are already doing this on a regular basis, kudos to you, you rock. Anyone else who is coming across all of this for the first time, I appreciate you taking the time to read through and I hope it has helped in some small way, at least.

Remember, we are part of the 'WA Massive'

Twack Romero.

Its all about connection! This is something I discovered whilst touching a tree and having a complete mental breakdown about my degree dissertation (ok I know I sound complete crazy now, but I somehow know you'll understand why touching a tree in the middle of a field and getting a revelation is perfectly sane), yet here it is again. That word connection, that seems to always be there (along with those dots).

Yes here we are in a massive network of people who just want to succeed, but with a loving underlying core of wanting to support each other to do so. So this post offers great advice and I truly hope the masses support others by following, reading and commenting.

ps. happy to subscribe, comment and read anything you have to offer. I am a fan : )

Nothing wrong with 'tree hugging'. The revelation comes when you have that intent, I think. Almost like you open yourself up. In some dark times I used to go to the Cathedral, not through anything religious, it was more to do with the size and the silence combined.

Connections. More the merrier, in my eyes. Thank you for your support, it's always welcome.

OMG the wine was flowing last night when I wrote this reply hahaha. I didn't hug the tree( although it is the sort of thing I would do), it was when I was in a meltdown writers block about my dissertation and I was working at the kennels, whilst on a dog walk, I touched this big wonderful tree that reminded me of a wise old grandpa, and the words 'it's all about connection' came.

Ok so I sound the same this morning as I did last night with wine flowing, think i'd best get back to researching the best organic baby toys and exit stage left hahaha.

See, it's like you've never been away. I knew what you meant, I hadn't actually imagined you with your arms wrapped round a tree.
Very cool though, to have that 'moment'

Feel like I should go do it now (Hug a tree). My neighbourhood think I am crazy anyway. Us crazy southerners are looked at with some caution by the Midlanders. Oh and I am one of those 'artistic types' too! so hugging trees, is par for the course for us, amongst 'being' or 'embodying the tree hahaha.

No worse than going to the garage or shop in your dressing gown and slippers. Who me ? I don't think so. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was onesie (is that even how you spell it?) club at McDonald's tonight! It started with multiple children being brought in in their PJ's then the adults started at about 22.00! I just smiled and stated, no judgement here at McDonald's. think it should be our new advertising campaign!

I have never owned a 'onesie'. Ponders.

Me neither, I'm old school and love a good fluffy dressing gown. They do visit McDonald's in those too, especially on the drive through at breakfast time, but like I say, we never judge, just observe and...ponder.

As always, awesome. Twack the Great!

You are just too kind Florentino, thank you.

:)

Great post and it is always good to go over something that we may have already gone over once. I like to be reminded of the things that are most important in this job and reading posts like this does that for me and I thank you for that. Keep up the great posts.
Douglas

Thank you Douglas, I'm happy that you found it a useful reminder. I could do with reminding myself sometimes, we'll get there.

Your welcome
Douglas

A day without Twack is like a day without sunshine! Outta the ballpark home run again my friend.
Joe

Thank you Joe, where would I be without your unwaivering support. Thank you again.
