I am just wondering about comments to my site. I am a religious fellow and won't take that away from anyone if you are not.
It is a personal belief but just wondering
I got one of those the other day.. it was long enough to be at least a thousand words blog. And it wasn't cute either, it was all the terrifying things that certain religions believe. Needless to say I wasn't impressed and I spammed and deleted it.
I told one of my WA friends about it and he told me it was spam and to never press any of the links that are left in the comment.
I'm not against religion myself, I just believe there is a time and a place for that and my parenting site is NOT a place for that.

It’s just spam. An attempt to either get a click or a back link.
Delete - forget - move on 🙂
Cheers

Was the comment the size of a full length novel talking about fire and brimstone? I'm sure that's spam - others have received it too.

What is up with the religious comments?

Hey Douglas,
Are these comments coming from WA members?
If yes, then please report their names used and email addresses to Kyle, as these would be obvious spammer members (and yes, some do sneak by Kyle's watchful eyes). Real members of WA know better than to do such a thing as this.
If these comments did NOT come from WA, then add them to your Comment Blacklist under Settings > Discussion and then scroll down the page to find the textbox where you can add their email address AND IP address so they will finally be stopped. See 1st screen print below...
Be sure to scroll down the Settings > Discussion page and click on your Save Changes button so the information you have added will remain.
Then, go back to EACH comment, click on spam so that your WordPress will learn to automatically mark them as spam in the future... and then, from the top of the Comments page, click on Spam and permanently delete these comments so they will not weigh down your website's loading time. See 2nd screen print below...
Hope you find this helpful.
Although it hasn't happened to me yet, I will be on the lookout. Thanks to you, I know how to difuse the situation.
