Getting In The Groove

I would say that we're continuing with a musical theme by using 'Getting In The Groove' as a title but I'm not sure if that's true. I would have to go back and reread my previous postS. Unfortunately I do not have 'auto-save' built in to my memory, more's the pity.

The words come out and stay out and that's it, done. Hang on, it's come to me (as I was folding laundry). Whichever recent post it was, had the line "Get my funk on". There, that's the link I was trying to remember. That's the badger (I argued that this was a phrase and lost)

Those words actually led to a nice 'audio exchange' between myself and Greg (@gnoose). Such was the opportune interaction that in turn lead to a pleasant surprise.

Uncannily, Rosana touched upon the very subject in her post "How I Comment on Your Blog Posts and Why I Do It Like That" yesterday. I have a rough outline for a post along the same lines though I might wait a respectful amount of time before publishing that one.

Without going into too much detail, I will say that the comments section on any post can be, and quite often is, as entertaining as the post itself. It is definitely a place where we can engage, should we choose to do so. I shall leave it there.

Where are we today ? Well, this morning hasn't gone exactly to plan, if there ever was one. I have had to go and buy a tumble dryer. It was inevitable. Over the past two weeks I have been meaning to get inside it and find out why the water tank isn't filling up as it should.

At first, I put it down to the turbo spin on the washing machine being so super duper, that the clothes were nearly dry by the time the cycle had finished. I was clutching at straws and I knew it.

So, with miserable weather curtailing any plans for outside hanging, armed with a screwdriver, I set about dismantling 'Russell'. Thirty odd screws later and my worst fears were realised. You see, I was hoping to find an obvious cause, maybe a pipe had come off or something of a similar vein.

Alas not, nothing looked untoward, which meant that the pump, though making an effort, was no longer up to the job.

Second hand parts for tumble dryers are not your normal 'off the shelf' items and thought of having no drying mechanism in place for the next few days was a bridge to far. Luckily though, ten minutes away is an electrical retailer, that deals specifically in second hand, refurbished goods. Sweet.

The rest needs no commentary. I went, I bought, I fitted, I dried.

I couldn't be doing with any phaffing around today as I have to leave the house at 1.25pm to collect a friend's car and take it to the garage, so it can be fixed. Driving broken cars is never fun and made even worse if it's not yours. So, the less hassle today, the better.

Moving it along into the home stretch, I had an email from 'Canva' this morning, to inform me that they now have a desktop app available for download. You may have had one of these emails but if not, then here is the link to the download page. There are also options for Mac on there.

Now you won't have to open another tab to use Canva, which if you're anything like me, means that you will have one less tab open, which is good thing. The fewer tabs you have open the better. I could really do with a second screen but I'm not sure my antiquated Packard Bell will allow it.

Right, that's me done my friends, I'm off to tie up some loose ends before I leave, as I have no idea how long I shall be gone. I will bid you adieu.

Stay safe, healthy and happy.

Twack Romero.

I love to read the comments - and as you mention they can be as entertaining (and even more so too!) than the post sometimes.

Another thing to keep in mind is the comments can teach valuable lessons about what people think, what they are interested in, and not.

Not that long ago I had to replace the belt on our dryer (I have a bad habit of overloading the thing and that kills belts!) which was far easier than I had anticipated (once I figured out how to get the pesky front panel loose anyway!).

Sadly I have never had much luck fixing washing machines though and usually have to replace the thing when it does malfunction.

Have a great day!

Best regards,

L.D. Sewell

Certainly worth having a go before throwing out. We were lucky with our last washing machine, it lasted fourteen years before it was 'beyond economical repair' and as we had insurance, they gave us a new one.
Thanks for stopping by, very much appreciated.

Good morning Mr. Twack. Sorry about the dryer thing, a real pain, but as usual, you had a fix near to hand. My thanks to you Twack for the info on Canva. Lat week, I finally got over my fear of new things and tried it out. I'll go back today and get the desktop version.

Thanks for the quick mention, I appreciate that. Have a great weekend

Greg

I might have to try that too, Greg!

Thank you Greg, and you're very welcome. Like most things, it can take a while to get the hang of it. I like that it automatically keeps everything you have done. I useit on one of my sites for the featured image, that way they are are the same bar the wording.
Friday night's here, hope you're having a good one.
It's going to be a good weekend, I can feel it.

Enjoy that weekend of yours, Twack!

Jeff

Thank you Jeff, you as well.

Will do! 👍👍

Thank You for the link and great post happy your dryer is working

You are definitely welcome Dorrie, it's certainly better than the last one, it dries the clothes.

And that is all that counts lol

Exactly.

If you can make a failed attempt to repair a dryer interesting and funny you could have been a writer for the Seinfeld show.

Thank you Neil, I'll take it. I should have taken pictures, it was quite a mess by the end of it. A sad demise.
Kramer made that show for me.

He was my favorite too!

I knowit's all scripted but you've still got to bring a little something extra to a character.

And he certainly did, Twack!

Jeff

Seems it has been another interesting day, nice to read. I'm probably one of the last persons in the world who has neither a tumble dryer nor a dish washer, how bad's that :)
As to the comments, I always enjoy reading them, there's sometimes a nice exchange of thoughts.
I only popped in to see if there was your daily post, off to my drawing now.
Have a beautiful rest of the Friday.

Thank you Lenka, I'm glad you popped in. I would happily do without the dishwasher and for about six months I was quite content to have a couple of 'washing-up parties' (Only me invited) during the day, it was very satisfying. With seven of us, the tumble dryer is a necessity
If you're up for it, maybe one day you might share some of your drawings. Only if you're happy to, of course.😊
I have returned from my good deed and the weekend awaits. Have a splendid one yourself.

Sure you need the tumble dryer, we are only three people in the house so it's different. Same with dish washer, I think it's a good thing for big families although I don't mind doing it manually.
I'm sending you my yesterday drawing, it's Max from kennels, he's 13 and ill, was on a chain all his life, now being taken care of. We are probably going to see him on Sunday.

I was thinking about writing a post about me drawing and painting but it's neither business related nor motivational so I don't know.

There's nothing wrong with that, Lenka! We have Amish here who have even less than you do! What a nice way to live, truth be told!

Jeff

It could be a 'behind the scenes' of a busy affiliate marketer. Here's what I do when I'm not writing posts. Artisitc license should prevail.

You never know, your paintings could one day be a business, Lenka!

Jeff

Wow Lenka, that's beautiful. You've captured those sad eyes perfectly. Their stories are often times so sad and yet they still share their love without conditions.

Thank you, I love drawing dogs, I have one of Aisa, and Cesar Milan's dog as well :)
You're right, their stories are sometimes very sad. I keep telling Aisa how lucky she is. We took her from kennels when she was 3 months old :)

Thank you Jeff! That would be nice :)

Simple is bliss.

She's a good looking dog and the pictures you put up showed how happy she is.

You two persuaded me, I wrote a post about my drawing and added a few pictures :)

Yay. BOOM, smashed it. I'm heading there now, I'm excited.

Somehow the Like button is not enough here. I LOVE this drawing!
Wow - you are a very talented artist Lenka!

I'm off to find your post about drawings now!

Dave

Very AWESOME, Lenka!
