Where to Put Your Focus - Your Location or on a Niche?
When you are looking for new local clients you can either focus on your location or on a niche.
Location- If you go this rout, focus on your local area the city you are in. If you live in a small town, focus on the closest big city that is around. This way you will be the “to go” person in that city for online services. You will work in many different niches focusing on that location. You will then work with dentists, plumbers, lawyers and landscapers in say Cleveland Ohio.
Advantage: You can visit your clients and easily get a personal connection.
Niche – If you decide to focus on a niche, you become the expert in that niche for your online services. Say your niche is doctors offices, you then work with doctors offices in many different locations.
Advantage: if this niche does great in one location it will probably do great in other locations as well. You have a related example that you can refer to when contacting new clients which gives credibility.

Local is not going anywhere and the number of potential clients out there is continuing to grow as the more conventional businesses are starting to see more and more potential in the Internet. People aren't looking in the phonebook anymore to find a local service, they are using some sort of digital device and that represents a massive opportunity for everyone here!
Great training piece!

Good stuff. My dad actually owns a Bait & Tackle shop so this local marketing stuff is useful. --> https://www.facebook.com/charlestonian.fishnhut. I'm honestly more into the online affiliate marketing end of it though right now.
