8. Email Campaigns
Last but not least email campaigns; this is a great way to get in contact with new potential local clients.
You can research online and get all the contact info that you need. Find out who is in charge of the business, call and get their personal email address. By calling and getting the correct email you will save yourself a lot of time. Sending emails to email addresses that never get read or to the wrong person will waste your time.
When you create the email make it personal, you can structure it like the direct mail letter. When I send out my emails I like to add pictures and screen shots, it makes it visually appealing and easy to understand. I usually include a screenshot of the Google keyword tool showing the actual search volume for the keyword they might be interested in, just like this one.
If they are not on the first page of Google I like showing them who is :)
I use a really nifty little tool to track the openings of my emails. When I first started out I had no clue if my emails got read or when they were opened, but with pointofmail I can see exactly when the emails where opened, how many times they were read and even if they were forwarded to someone else. This saves me a lot of time, I can focus on the local businesses that I know read the first email and send a second and a third one...
Plus it is easier to pick up the phone and actually call the business owner if you know he read it 3 times and spend 3 minutes reading it each time :-).
Now you have 8 different ways to get local marketing clients.
Go out there and getèm.
If you have any questions at all please feel free to post them and I will answer them as quick as I can.

Local is not going anywhere and the number of potential clients out there is continuing to grow as the more conventional businesses are starting to see more and more potential in the Internet. People aren't looking in the phonebook anymore to find a local service, they are using some sort of digital device and that represents a massive opportunity for everyone here!
Great training piece!

Good stuff. My dad actually owns a Bait & Tackle shop so this local marketing stuff is useful. --> https://www.facebook.com/charlestonian.fishnhut. I'm honestly more into the online affiliate marketing end of it though right now.
