How to Set Up a Filter in Google Analytics
Now what you're going to do with that IP address is set up a filter in Google Analytics so that they know not to track any hits from it.
First, log into your Google Analytics account.
Note: If you don't have a Google Analytics account yet, make sure you set that up. There are various trainings in Wealthy Affiliate how to do this. Here are a few:

In the left menu, click on "Admin".
You'll be taken to a new screen.
In the first column, click on "All Filters".
Then click on the "Add Filter" button on the next screen.
Now you're going to set up a few things:
- Add a Filter Name (I just use IP Address. You can use whatever you like.)
- Select "Predefined" as your filter type
- Select "Exclude"
- Select "traffic from the IP address"
- Select "that are equal to"
Here is where everything is on that page:
Now you can add the IP address that you copied into the box that just popped up:
Finally, you'll select which website you want to apply this filter to and move it from "Available Views" to "Selected Views".
Because I have 4 websites connected to Google Analytics, I have 4 options. Unfortunately, they're all named the same, so I can't tell which is which.
Luckily, I'll always want to exclude my IP address from any site I'm tracking.
So I'll move them all over to the other side.
You can always highlight them again and hit the "Remove" button to take the filter off again.
