Recap:

Step 1 of Google email Accept Amendment:

1. Login to one of your websites in Google Analytics All Website Data and go to Admin

2. Choose Account Settings in the first column in that page that opens

3. Now scroll down to the bottom of the page that has opened and click Review Ammendment and then Accept.

4. Click Save and look out for the date in green, the black bold text originally said 'has not been accepted', then turned red with 'has not been saved yet', and now has turned green with the date of acceptance.

Otherwise check for having taken a wrong turn on our troubleshooting page.

Step 2 of Google email Add your name, email address and postal address for each of your websites:

1. Click Manage DPA Details

2. In the Contacts box that comes up, click the plus sign and fill in your name, email, and postal address.

Team WA!

* I've done this training and updated my own google analytics two weeks earlier than I normally would myself due to the suggestion of fellow WA member Traffic King PhilipC1 who pointed out we want to get back to the important stuff of writing out content for our sites rather than fiddle around finding and interpreting old google emails and going down the rabbit hole of wrong turns and potential maze that GA can be. So thanks Philip for the motivation!

Thanks also to Loes who in her blog highlights the steps involved, she certainly highlights the need to add contact details in terms of your name and address for each of your sites much clearer than google analytics do. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/loes/blog/important-info-goo...

Here are three blogs I wrote on other GDPR issues including a GDPR checklist:

1. This is the latest showing how Wordpress core is coming on board to help us meet the updated GDPR Privacy Policy, and some new tools to export people's data and erase their data. I also show here other steps regarding choosing GDPR compliant versions of plugins and why you must keep on top of your updates and security, and also keep a list of the things you've done for GDPR:

2. This one shows the difference between the different Google Analytics updates being rolled out at the same time

3. GDPR Some Questions, Confusion & Clarity shows definition of Personal Data and different approaches by businesses

Thanks MozMary. Does this apply to me, I am in the US and I do not promote products outside of US.

GDPR does apply to the US and other non-european countries, because traffic is global including europe for most websites

go into your analytics admin and follow through, if those instructions are there then click them - if they are not then let us know

All of their instructions were a bit muddy, so on the page where we fill in contact details they say 'all european economic area AND anyone the regulation reaches' see how muddy that is - because GDPR reaches everyone, yet they did not commit themselves

if there is a button in your analytics asking you to accept then do it, if not then fine - but go in and look

If we have not received this notice should we just go ahead and do this?

yes, if you have google analytics just log in and go ahead to admin and follow those instructions, you'll see the review and accept button - if they are not there then you'll know you don't have to do anything - let us know

emails can get lost in spam folders sometimes

MozMary,
Thank you so much for taking your time to make this tutorial very simple and clear.
By the way, I've not done anything for the GA 360 Suite for fear of falling into errors.

You may kindly do one for beginners in your next tutorial.

Thank you so much for sharing this useful stuff on GDPR Acceptance.
Cheers!

This is the beginners version, the regular google analytics.

The email they sent out has 360 suite on it but also analytics in the same pathway

if you just follow the login to all website data and admin you'll navigate to the update agreement
