Rank at WA doesn't always equal $'s
Of course Rank at WA doesn't always = no $'s either
How do I know this for a fact?
Well I joined WA on 18 June 2015 and within 4 Months achieved the rank of Ambassador at WA!
At one time I even got to the rank of #11
That's when it hit me, I had only been at WA for about 12 months and had been an Ambassador for 228 of those days. I hadn't even gotten started with the training and I was about to be in the Top 10 at WA
I have been earning an income online since 2009 so I wasn't a beginner to Internet Affiliate Marketing but here I was in just 12 months and no training within WA getting ready to break into the Top 10
That's when I decided to back off and concentrate more on my websites and helping Friends to earn an income online instead of worrying about rank at WA & the results have been amazing!
I have been able to help so many more Friends who I have met at various sites to start earning an income online and for many of them for the first time as they had never had someone help them with legitimate opportunities before, Wealthy Affiliate included.
I'm not saying that being ranked high at Wa is a bad thing and I'm even thinking of taking the classes and getting more involved with the WA Community & Possibly even becoming an Ambassador again.
Back in 1984 when I first joined the United States Army with my 1st Car!
What are your thoughts my Friends?

I would never have the time for ambassadorship at the moment, or the knowledge for all that matter. So, at present I'm safely ranking within the top 200. Because as you say Tony, I do want to concentrate on my websites.
In passing, since joining 12 months ago, I concentrated my efforts on my dog website much more, and now I get a lot of impressions there. Whereas with my work from home site, I only starting writing back in the autumn, and it's not picking up. Proof that, if you post regularly and frequently enough, and if you expose to social media regularly and frequently, it does work!!!

I've done exactly the same thing, Tom. I've only been here 2 months and I've had to put the brakes on because I'm very close to getting into the Top 200 and I'm only on Course 1 Lesson 7 of the Bootcamp!
I suppose to us ex-military types, 'rank' means something - although we need to remind ourselves to see it in a completely different context here than when we were in uniform!
I enjoy the interacting and the posting but it's not earning me a penny, and I joined WA to design my financial future, not for title or position.
I'd very much like to be an Ambassador, but only when I'm qualified to help people through their training by having learned all the technical stuff myself.
Great post, thanks for sharing :-)
Cheers
Rich
So true your rank at WA goes up and down depending on how much time you spend on here and what activity you are doing. When spending time on my sites and writing my rank changes and when I get back on here again it changes again. I like to keep it in the top 200 but at one time I was nearly in the top 100 and then the algorithm changed and the rank moves differently now.
I love that car!!! Camero or TransAm? I agree with what you are saying about WA rankings. I love the community but WA rankings are not a priority. My online business has to be the top priority. WA is an amazing tool and the members that make up the community are GREAT. I never fail to learn something or to be inspired. As a member, my goal is to share good things also to help other people.
Take care.
Totally agree with you Tony. And on that basis I would 100% support you if you should choose the mission to become Ambassador again.
This is no reflection on anyone, all the Ambassadors do an amazing job. My thinking is that having people such as yourself with the online track record at Ambassador level would lift everyones income faster.
I also realise it is a big commitment and, for myself, maintaining a Rank of Top 50 during the next 6 months with be difficult as I build income streams.
Cheers, William.
Thank you for your excellent blog post-Tony, I hear what you're saying, though! First of all, Wealthy Affiliate is a great place to learn about Internet marketing and network with various people who are in the same game. However, I believe that it is possible to rank very highly at Wealthy Affiliate and actually not be earning any money online! As with all things, I believe it's important to get the balance right, I know that there have been times when I've spent more time reading blog posts etc, rather than focusing on my own websites, which actually generate income!
So to conclude, it is great to learn and network with each other but at the same time, our priority needs to be to move our web business forward as ranking doesn't bring in the pounds or dollars.
IWell fellow soldier, I would like an NCO to lead me to where you've been so I can achieve what you have achieved. Lead and continue to what you are trained to do, it's your calling. Backing off us going to make you miserable. I'd follow you! 6 out!

I agree 100%. My rank is real high now, but for a while I found myself spending more time trying to get a low ranking that I was forgetting about my business. I now help when I can. If I know something that can help someone else, I will chime in.

Still in the early days of my journey here at WA. I'm realising how important it is to prioritise my time and stick to the plan. It's easy to spend too much time in the WA community, I need to remember that the community is there to support me, not to distract me.
Thanks for blogging.
