Did You Make a Misttrraake?

Kyle's recent article shows that making decisions, even if the decisions lead to errors, is how we make progress: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/act-now-fix-later-a-journey-of-1-000-s-of-decisions

From my experience, the problem is not in making mistakes, but in repeating them. If doing something incorrectly is wrong or unproductive, then repeating the error will not make it correct nor make it productive.

If we are in the mode where we continually do the same stupid things over and over again, that behavior becomes a bad habit. It keeps us from doing other things that are correct and it completely stymies our progress.

Sometimes we need to think ahead a little bit. We can ask ourselves some questions:

1. Haven't I done this before?

2. What did it do for me? Was it beneficial?

If you have done it before and it was not beneficial, then don't repeat it.

I'm very good at doing stupid things more than once. We all are to some extent. But if it becomes habitual, our progress stops, we get discouraged, we are in a deep hole and can't get out.

Sometimes it takes time to recover from such behavior. If we can start over by building a new foundation and rebuilding from there, then we start doing things right and we can repeat them and become productive.

If we can get back to fundamentals by "hitting the books", then we can relearn the principles that will keep us on the straight path. It takes time and patience but the rewards are great.

I sometimes go back over the lessons here at WA to see where I got off the track and failed to see the road ahead. Going back to basics gets us out of trouble and moving again.

Some great advice. Thanks very much.

Valery, U R Welcome!

I will go back to basic and start course one for the fourth time.
Thank's for the reminder John :)

U R Welcome!

Oh John, you're so right!

Two things I will never forget:

There's an option to edit text and one to edit visual.

There's an option to enable or disable the writing editor in profile.

These two things alone are going to save me great amounts of time in future......

Hi Therese. I wonder if you can explain your 3rd point more fully to me. I would appreciate it. Regards, Jan

I meant that I won't be losing control of my image inserts by not being able to navigate around them.

And that I'd be able to insert links if I change that edit option on profile ( admin).

The 3rd is just that these two bits of knowledge are firmly in my brain now, I won't get stuck on them anymore, thanks to all the help I've received.

Very patient help!

Thanks, Therese

Thank you!

Thanks for sharing. True words of wisdom we can all benefit from.

Susan, U R Welcome!

Mistakes are just directions to where we need to turn

As long as we don't just go in circles.

Great advice, John! I'm guilty too of repeating the same mistake more than once, but I'm working on it. I agree, it does help to go back over the lessons again to see where we lost track.

Thanks for the reminder and it's great hearing from you!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry
