Over the past couple of years working from home has become almost a norm.

That can look like a lot of different things for different people.

What was the hardest

I've been working from home for 31 years, Ruby! I love it!

Jeff

Heavy. When a man is at home, the family thinks that you are always at their disposal. I do the most important things very early in the morning. Before going to bed I do easier things.

I set a schedule and hope not to be interrupted. I take care of the animals first and set down and get to work. Unfortunately, when I get company for my mother. I stop what I'm doing and when they leave I will start up again. My mother gets a little upset from time to time, but I keep working regardless.

I do both working at home and also at my business office. I can adjust great. There may be challenges but knowing me that I cannot sit idle I conquer them in no time.

Wish you well and success on your journey and business endeavors.

What are some apps or websites that you use to help plan and layout your content? Especially for someone (like me) who has a hyperactive mind and trouble focusing?

I can

Using a online spreadsheet that can have entries that can be sorted is very useful for us. We keep it open on your laptop and when ideas come we capture them so we can sort them later. Deciding categories is helpful. Some ways to get ideas for your subcategories can be amazon, competitive websites, answersocartes.com, Jaaxy keyword research, google search on your keyword then the "people ask" section. ,

I am very old school. It's kind of ironic, but technology really helps me work old school. I do a word outline under the keyword that I am going to use. Each word or phrase is a thought for the content. I manipulate them around in terms or order. I eliminate ideas that don't fit. Then I break the ideas into groups. Then I simply build a couple of sentences or paragraph around each word. I give a name to the group which becomes my heading. I started using this method many, many, many years ago and have stuck with it.

I keep it focused on the task at hand and do my best complete it. I run what is essential to my business with a daily schedule. It is easy to get distracted if you find yourself in this situation; snap yourself out of it. Probably easy said than done. But we've got to try :)

All the time, Ruby, but remember, you've GOT this!

From what or who is the post being hidden from? Does it still show on your profile or what happens to it?

You know that's actually a good question. I'm not sure where the blog goes if you make it hidden. Maybe it's the equivalent of keeping it as a draft?

Soooo my curiosity got the best of me and I created a quick blog post and set it to hidden to see what happens and I couldn't really see any difference. It seemed to be right there with my other blog posts.

The rest of the visibility options have to do with creating training. As an example you can create some training for premium only and offer it as a bonus to your free starter referrals so that when they go premium now they can see it.

Maybe you can create training and have it visible only to you initially.

Good question though. I was like "what's that all about?" lol

It works for training vs. blogs, I asked this question belote.

I'm not understanding... the "hidden" option for training only? Or the sharing feature itself?

You have the option to create training, and you can decide who you want to view your training.

For example if you opt-in for yearly, monthly subscribers to the platform cannot then view unless they upgrade to a yearly.

That's your training tab

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/therubyvegas/training

Ok so to be clear... all the sharing options EXCEPT for "hidden" work for both training and posts?

Training only - It does not work for blog posts, no.

Ok awesome. Thank you so much for clearing that up.

You're very welcome!

Authoring & Writing Content

I'm just curious how everyone goes about updating their content...

How often should one do this?

Should it just be outdated information or adding extra content alt

You don't need to update the old content during the first year unless it is really necessary.

After a year of blogging, you can start updating a few old pieces per week and increase exponentially as time goes by and you accumulate more and more content on your blog.

I have actually created a short guide on this topic if you want to take a look: Updating could improve your rankings.

Hi

It depends, if needing update then yes. I'd give it at least a year in. However please be aware you can edit | update all, except changing the URL, if the URL changes to Google it would be a new post.

And so any ranking done on the post would be lost.

Hope this helps.

I would also keep updating blog with new content 2 - 3 times a week a niche a site and that's for the foreseeable future. Consistency is key and Google loves consistency.

How do you use Twitter to share your content?

Do you post WA blogs to your Twitter?

Do you use Twitter as a main blogging platform (short form)?

I share my blog posts on Twitter (a teaser message and a link), retweet other peoples Tweets when they are in the same niche and therefor interesting to my followers, and I share direct affiliate links.

Twitter is great for longer threads too, so short form blog posts are a possibility for sure. I don't use Twitter that way, but I love reading other peoples threads when they offer solid information.

I should tweet more often, but Twitter doesn't allow repeated scheduling (you can schedule, but you can't put a tweet on regular repeat), so I'm less consistent on Twitter than on other social media accounts. I'm still figuring out how I can create a better routine for Twitter, because I love it so much more than other socials.

If I could get better at short-form blogging I'm sure Twitter would turn into a gold mine for me but I haven't gotten that far into doing so. I agree, when I find a good post that's part of a valuable thread... I'll definitely give it a read and probably retweet it as well. The opportunities are there for sure...

Ruby, I’ve got to be honest and say never. Perhaps it is time I looked at it seriously. Do you find it useful.

I haven't posted any content from my site or WA but I've noticed the amount of traffic I've been getting in my stats has doubled over the past months ever since I've added my WA link to my profile. So I'm thinking about pushing out content as TheAR (below) mentioned he does.

I need to start posting to Twitter as well

I share to Twitter using a link to my website blog posts, with a short message to hopefully encourage a link click.
