Following Up on the Technician

As it turns out... incidents occur in real-time.
The technician indeed hacked into our systems. Some folks were blocking processes remotely—specifically, traffic coming in and out of IP addresses. They had left a loophole open in our firewall settings (which, by the way, is now closed).
These events were happening within 24-hour windows... Corporations don't do that. We figured it was hacking activity.
They also tried to access the emails associated with those processes, but they failed. I had to process verifications to the email company to reopen communications.
We believe the hacker acted independently, which gives the business they work for a bad name and reputation.
What is more troubling is that they couldn't locate the requested job when we phoned the provider. What's going on?
The bottom line is that we are switching providers.
We've been looking to sign up with another one.
We may pursue this matter further, pending consultations.
This could happen to anyone at any time and anywhere. We have taken measures and now ask for identity and call the business to confirm before any work is done.
The message is clear: be careful whom you trust; you must have eyes in front, back, sideways, and almost everywhere else.
Be vigilant and alert at all times. Enough said.

At this stage, I assume more than one person is involved—the firm may also be. It's hard to prove anything here. We need to find a crack somewhere, like the loophole they opened in our firewall.
These actions are in no one's interest; if they had proceeded, they could have succeeded substantially. For what reason? They might have thought we were dumb or couldn't tell heads from tails (or toes). Well, guess what? I learned CyberSecurity in six days and got right down to it.
That is no problem. I'll follow up on it until the end of the earth.
I know you will handle this with great confidence and will get down to the finer details of why and how it happened.
