Just For Scary Fun
I've been looking into different ways to increase my on-line security, since I managed (even with 2 anti-viruses and 2 spyware additions) to pick up a couple of Trojans and other tag-a-longs over the Holidays. Along my travels I found this site, that I think many here will get a kick out of. It's pretty hypnotic, so don't forget to blink >; )
What it is, is a site that shows you live ALL the hacking going on in the WORLD as it is happening. I am not an affiliate. I just think it's cool and though you all might be at least a little bit interested.

I was watching this site during the evil attack a few weeks ago that closed down facebook for 1 hour and 12 minutes. Like you say, it was hypnotic. I check it out often, and it's amazing and scary to see how many attacks are going on at all time, great site
My hosting is in USA so that's why I'm getting so many brute-force attacks. It's great to have Wordfence for my websites that are not hosted at WA. ~Marion
Is that what it is called? It sounds like something I'd like to know more about. I can't exactly have a site on security, if I'm not very secure myself (on-line).
It's a plugin and the name really IS 'Wordfence'. You can't use it on WA SiteRubix hosting as it requires an outbound connect and if you use WA hosting then you don't need it because the hosting here is VERY secure. I have most of my websites at HostGator because I have so many and my son also uses my HostGator account.
I was looking into security for all things. Not just my sites here at WA. But it is good to know that I can add extra layers for the sites, too. Thank you.
That looked like the movie "War Games" with Matthew Broderick.
I don't get viruses I'm on a Mac.
Just so you are aware, Macs do get viruses. I work for a large university on the East Coast, and the students who use Macs get hit quite often.

I bet many of those pretty little light beams are aimed at Macs as well. They just haven't found yours yet. Lucky.
Do you know what this site is using for their source? We typically track this traffic as part of my job.
Also, on your comment about still picking up a couple of Trojans, Nothing is foolproof. Happens to us who have done this type of work for a living.
It used to be back in the 1990's, we could stay 1 step ahead of the hackers. Now in some cases we are 2 steps behind!
Interesting site since it is the first one I have seen in color.
Thanks for sharing,
Dave
The company's name is "Norse" and apparently they monitor botnets as they pass through their system and thereby add the colors to make things more easy to track and too, more interesting.
