I Hit $1000 In Affiliate Sales + I Have a New Training for You

Last Update: June 20, 2019

First things first, I hit $1000 in affiliate sales, and I noticed yesterday. Plus, I have more coming in this month, so I'll actually pass 4 figures with flying colors. Yay!

I've made a full time income from home before. In fact, I have the time for my business because of the construction business my husband and I built and live off of now. Even with that, learning the affiliate business was a learning curve for me. The challenge and actual fulfillment of performing the work in affiliate marketing makes it my favorite business model. It's not for everyone, but it's by far my favorite.

I'm grateful to Kyle, Carson, and the community for your generosity towards me, and I plan to continue giving back as a result.

I Heard Your Feedback Loud and Clear

Today, I decided to publish a training for monthly and annual members in response to all your feedback. There is an address in there about my freedom of choice because I don't plan on making accomodations or rendering the same sympathy based on the arguments I heard over the last few days. However, I did expedite the publishing of this training because I empathized with the few people who are in a financial bind.

I had so many technical difficulties I'm hoping you all don't see every one of them in the video. In fact, I even had to cut my curriculum in half to make this training on How to Sell High Ticket Products part one and part two. Fingers crossed, tomorrow, I'll be able to get thru the rest!

My motto is "Use what you have until the wheels fall off". Hopefully, by wise decision making, my sales will allow me to upgrade my equipment and serve you all with even higher quality soon.

I don't have the best equipment for what I currently do. I bought my computer maybe 6 months ago, but I had no idea I'd be doing a Youtube challenge, publish 100+ videos, and the impact it would have on my computer!

Learn from my mistakes. This business requires certain tools. Don't say you're a leisure computer user, and buy for that. When you buy a computer, buy for the professional person who uses the computer to make a living.

That should be common sense, right? It wasn't for me. Hahahaha.

Why I Decided to Publish A Training For All Premium Members Today

I decided to compromise for some of you because you have expressed a level of confidence in my work that I am mindblown by, and I couldn't ignore you. I read your messages saying you believe my training could make the difference in your financial futures, and I appreciate your confidence. It didn't escape my mind, so I decided to push up the date for publishing the training on High Ticket products from next week or further out up into today.

I think the training will better help you understand my point of view and decision making as well as it can help you to position yourself well in your business. I sat down and wrote the course and filmed it today for you (you know who you are). I believe some of you who are starting at the bottom will get to the top. I'm working my way there too. I've taken my time to create a training for you to show you my belief in you.

Unfortunately I Don't Think Any Training will Make You Successful without This...

On the other hand, I could see that my training, the Wealthy Affiliate training, or any training for that matter wouldn't be enough for you if you don't realize something important. I decided to write this post to reiterate a quote I said in the training that says, "Your mind has to come out of disability before your finances can".

This quote isn't referring to a mental diagnosis or any psychiatric disorder. It's not meant to be insulting or rude (although I'm almost 100% certain someone will choose to take it that way). This quote was more in reference to your realization that you are enough, and you have something you can reciprocate with.

Take Your Confidence Back

You can look all over the internet in every library and in every university, but if you feel you aren't enough, it still won't work. You have to believe that despite anything you've done, someone did to you, or association you might have had (you may have to let a few go), you still have a fair chance, and you can do this.

I could sense in some of the responses I read that some of you feel like you're missing pieces that no training module could fill for you. It hurt my heart, and it made me angry towards whoever damaged your confidence like that. You are enough and you have a fair shake at this.

Take that mantra with you and repeat it.

The ability to be able to reciprocate is a sign of maturity

Once you realize you're not fragmented, dysfunctional, an accident, or broken beyond repair, then you can also start to see you have wealth too. Maybe you don't have financial wealth yet, but you have something worth value.

When we're immature, we're unaware of the privilege we have access to. We overlook what we do have, and instead, we magnetize what we don't.

I heard people say:

  • My budget is tight
  • I'm a dependent
  • My health is in crisis
  • And, many other things

I truly empathize for you and I applaud you for making a step in your business: whether monthly or annual. I think you shouldn't jump into annual until it's feasible.

One member suggested saving $1/day, $10/mo, or whatever you can do, and I think that's a great idea. You have to sacrifice for any business or any goal for that matter. You'd be surprised how fast a small choice to save a few dollars can add up!

I think a small incremental savings would be a good idea if you pair it with work ethic and the belief that you are enough and you can do this.

Inventory What You Have

Whenever I've been financially strapped, I inventory what I have. I've realized even when I don't have money, I always have something. The something you have can make money a byproduct.

You may have health, skills, talents, connections, work ethic, and ideas to name a few resources you can take inventory of. Consider how you can use what you have to get what you don't.

In most cases, you're not disabled, disadvantaged, crippled, incapable, shortchanged, or dysfunctional unless you think you are. You are enough.

Think about how you can use what you DO have to be at an advantage rather than thinking of what you don't have to be at a disadvantage.

You have my support in this trying time. If you persist, you'll make it thru.

My Questions to You

  • Have you ever gotten out of a tough time?
  • What did you do to get out?
  • Do you agree or disagree with my advice? Why?
  • What would be your words of advice to someone struggling financially now, and giving their last to build their businesses?

Tough Times? Plenty.

How did i got out? I worked hard on a solution to solving them by following the good advice of others and creative mind set to change it.

I agree with your thoughts on this, because it makes sense to save and set goals and achieve them. (with confidence) the term "You Are Enough" sound similar to the law of attraction and I believe in the universe as well.

You first start with your belief tank and just work on building yourself up before anything else.

Keep a list of goals in your pocket and read daily.

List out your daily, weekly, yearly goals and work towards achieving them too.

Think of creative ways to work around your financial, mental, or physical disabilities by thinking and doing what it takes to succeed, and overcome these everyday obstacles.

Fake it, till you Make it: you have know your a successful person before your are one walk the walk and talk the talk.

I know I'm a successful person because people like you are showing me good examples to follow.

Thank You Tiffany for the inspiration and guidance.

My answers:

1. Yes
2. I prayed and got God's Almighty help
3. Sounds good, because you are giving it from your own experience, wanting to share it because of your heart and it sounds plausible.

4. Their last what? dollar, strength, hope?

My advice would be "...be like I, hold your head up high, somewhere there's a bluebird of happiness."

You have to work for your business before your business works for you. You have got to put your business together and get it up and running. That takes time and resources - you must expect that - it's a given. You may fail most people do but you learn from that and do it again better. If finances are a problem, get a part time job working weekends or nights to cover expenses. It's very hard to live if the lights are out - so do what you must to keep going. I couldn't keep going here for a minute (I wrote what I did in a blog). Most importantly I made it back and I'm here now.

Thanks Tiffany. I’ve had a bit of a hiatus from WA the last 6 months and it’s a post like this that inspires me not to give up.
Had Sciatica at the beginning of the year, but I plan to use my experience to help others. Not a pain I would wish on anyone! 😊 But getting through things whether health or money difficulties is an experience and a benefit (although you don’t know it at the time!)
I think not giving up and knowing you are enough/have a voice/a gift to share/a talent is true.
Thanks again and look forward to the training.
Best wishes to your success.

I got rid of sciatica 15 years ago by doing a simple five-minute yoga routine every morning. Stretching is the key to keeping sciatica and back problems away, and yoga is the best stretching there is. You can Google yoga and back stretching exercises. Even five minutes a day will make a world of difference and help you get pain free.

Excellent article!

I myself am often struggling financially most months, so I empathize with others, yet I also don't use it as a crutch.

Kyle created the cash credits for comments so people could earn their Wealthy Affiliate monthly fee if needed. There are ways to do this if you're committed enough.

I have a friend who was destitute financially when he was getting his electrical company going. He was working 16+ hours a day with his partner, no employees yet, struggling to make it.

He's now wildly successful financially and despite his stroke at age 50, he was able to let his partner take over and he's still rolling in it. But he didn't have a dollar to his name while he was first starting out.

It depends on how much you want financial freedom. Sacrifice now for financial freedom later.

Yes. I completely agree with your comment "sacrifice now for financial freedom later". Your story describes the struggle. While struggle isn't fun, the attributes you get when you come out from it pack a punch for your future! You get character, persistance, patience, resilience, and other traits that increase your contentment and fulfillment. I know you're coming out a winner!

And everyone I know who is successful now but knows that struggle... they did not expect or feel entitled to anything because of their lack of funds. They simply paid for the absolute needed services or products, and didn't get a single paycheck for themselves for months or even years.

That's business when you're trying to make a go of it.

Congratulations, btw, on your success!

I agree. Success is a labor of love. Blood, Sweat, Tears, and Joy.
As I am in this category, I make choices every day (some good, some bad), to afford what I want. (For those that doubt my status of being financially 'hardshipped'... due to spousal illness & disability, our income has dropped by $50,000+ per year in the last 2 years).

I'm sorry to hear about the hard times you're facing. I experienced the same thing which brought me here. For me, it wasn't my husband, it was my son. Suddenly, his heart rate went down to 30 bpm and he was so lethargic. I had to take him to lots of appointments and decided to go down to one income so I could focus. From there, I decided, building an asset was the way to go.

I sense you have an inner resolve that will get back every penny of the $50,000+ and more! Keep going. You have it in you to make it out of this.

As someone who as been in all of those situations i can tell you or anyone for that matter..Yes you are enough!!!
To you Tiffany I commend you for not only for your decision but also addressing the one thing I always tell people.....Do not let a negative situation or circumstance define who you are....Who you are is a choice NOT a product of circumstance. It is mindset and you do have to believe in yourself...not sometimes..but ALL the time especially when it gets tough.
Read some of my journey this past year it is here in my blog posts. I am still a monthly member BUT I also started at WA knowing that i was here for the long haul and inspite of everything this year I am still here and next month will be a year....most months i wasnt sure how i was going to pay for it but i did i figured it out ...WHY? Because of the fact that i not only believe in the program here more importantly
I believe in myself....and so can you
Change your mindset..change yourself...you can do it!!!
You are enough!!!
Tiffany again thank you for being you ☺

First of all, CONGRATS on your milestone of $1000 a month.

Second, I wish to answer the questions you asked:

I have just recently gotten out of a tough time...yes, my wife and I were behind in our mortgage by about 3 months since September, due to the overtime and the hurricane that came through South Carolina at that time.

I got out of it by cutting corners and paying a little bit each week to the mortgage and in March finally got it on track again. One of the key factors was I raised my withholding on my income taxes from 2 to 9. I don't recommend this unless you know exactly how it will affect your filing in the next year. I only did it for 2 months which was long enough to help out and won't have an as bad effect on my taxes next year.

I also borrowed against my 401k to pay down some debt and put a little in savings to use if we got in a bind on other things.

I agree wholeheartedly with what you are saying here. I am proof of that and will do anything to keep my business here going and do not plan to give it up. It is my financial plan to supplement my current income from my hourly job...with the plan to eventually replace it.

My advice to anyone struggling financially, pay yourself first...by putting a little bit in savings. If you have debt...pay the debt with the least amount first. It'll give you something to celebrate sooner as it will be the first debt paid off. Then when that one is paid off go to the next one that is least with what you are already paying for that one plus what was going to the one you just paid off. Continue on that path until all the debt is gone.

With the debt gone you can really focus on your business better with a little bit more relaxed attitude. With that in mind, the annual membership would then be easier to pay for also.

Awesome post, Tiffany. I look forward to checking out your training...by the way. I was doing all this and still managed to pay for an annual membership when the Black Friday Deal came along.

I wish you well,

Bob M

First off you are doing an AMAZING Job! Congrats on your success but don't be complacent or I will pass you on the way to 10K. I love the challenge despite my fledgling new blogs.

1. I am getting past my tough time. I had a nervous breakdown a few years ago that zapped my physical and mental health leaving me with Bipolar, Social Anxiety, Obesity, Diabetes, and Diverticulitis scars that come from losing half a colon. I can't at this time work outside the house but blogs and social media are bringing me back.

2. Blogging is therapy better than I get from my healthcare providers. Social media keeps me in the loop and being social when I can't always handle it outside the home. I have been easing myself into the real world and last year on my Birthday my brother talked me into going to my first ever Arizona Diamondbacks Game. By the 3rd inning, I was like I was before hooping and hollering as we secured home-field advantage for the Wild Card game.

3. I agree with your advice. Mental holdbacks are all beatable where there is a will. Steve Hawking's made it to the top of Physics despite not even being able to talk without a machine. If he can do it on that scale you can do this.

4. If you wish to change your life then change the life you live. Stop talking about the people around you and dream bigger. Know you can, know you will, and start associating you with people more successful than you. Their train of thought, their lifestyle will rub off and propel you to higher heights both mentally and monetarily.

Tiffany you touched my soul at the core! As I write this reply tears are flowing. “I am good enough.” I just needed to take that statement to heart and believe it. Yes, “I am good enough.” I don't have financial wealth but I do have health, skills, talent and connections. Thank you so much for sharing!

I will share a story:
I needed a substantial investment to take advantage of a business opportunity. I told myself, “How can I figure this out?” I have to believe in myself do something different. If I keep doing what I am doing I will keep getting what I get. (…I was not getting success).
Listen all my credit cards are maxed out and I am on a plan now to eliminate debt and eventually build wealth. The new me has a plan to get out of this financial mess that I created. The cycle of paycheck to paycheck has been going on for 30 years. So, that option to throw it on a credit card was out!
I decided to sleep on it and wake up fresh to come up with a strategy to finance this business opportunity. Building your business is not easy but once you find the right vehicle to fuel your opportunity you will stop at nothing to make it a reality. Wealthy Affiliate is one piece of the puzzle to building my online business from scratch. I am able to invest in Wealthy Affiliate opportunity because the monthly investment fit my budget. Now the opportunity needing substantial investment was a big leap, however, I knew it was the right fit for me.
Sometime we need to dig real deep ask the universe/God for what you want, formulate a plan and have confidence in yourself.
Guest what? I found the money! I utilized my skills, integrity, connections and got the entire investment!
This victory is an experience I will never forget. I wake up with a smile and confidence. I dared to do something different and I got great results. Just imagine if I kept doing the same thing and not step out with confidence I would have missed another opportunity. My old self would have said you can’t afford this. The new me said how can I make this work? Wow, so happy the new me showed up. I’m building an online business and have a plan to eliminate debt forever and build wealth.
Tiffany I want to thank you for sharing because you motivated me to share. I am excited to be a part of the Wealthy Affiliate family. Sincerely, Charlotte H, I am unstoppable!!!

This is a great article! I'm one of those people who is "giving their last to build your business," to use your succinct words. I'm curious, how long did it take you to reach this point? Also, what do you feel is the most effective way to promote products? I can see how youtube could be effective, but I feel reluctant to do that because I hate the way my voice sounds when it's recorded...

To see all about my journey, you can see my video case studies in my "training tab" on my profile with my traffic, income, and all. I try to tell all about my hiccups along the way. I'm at 16 months now. I'm not the fastest or the slowest, so don't base your potential solely on mine. You can avoid my mistakes by checking out my training. Hahaha.

Regarding what's most effective, I think that's subjective. I've done offline sales, online sales, public speaking, and I've liked them all and they've all been effective in different context.

Regarding insecurities about video, we've all had them. You'd be surprised how the things you think are issues are not always a problem for your audience. The voice you have is the voice you have, so I think you should "use it til the wheels fall off"!

Maybe your voice in video isn't your competitive advantage, but something else can be. Maybe you can be more honest than all those talking about your topics? Maybe more thorough? Maybe more authentic? You can make a different competitive advantage and your video can still be impactful even if you have the ugly voice you feel you have. Hahaha.

I bet it's not as bad as you think though, and if you decide not to do video, you can still be successful. Choose your strategy. Many of them work.

This was a great post; really uplifting! I've recently just started to pull myself together after a nightmare of a job, which I've long left behind. But it had taken me years to get out of the negative mental state that it had left me; and even now, I still have days where I question my abilities because that old job had taken a lot of my confidence in myself.

I don't really know what I did to get myself out of that funk, since I don't think I'm fully out of it yet; but I believe we all need time to heal, and moral support from the people we can trust. Eventually, I also found ways to keep myself occupied and I get momentary bursts of inspiration from those tasks.

My advice to those that are struggling financially is to take inventory of what you have and what's really important to you, and go from there. Avoiding frivolous spending is the key.

To answer your questions, I have gone through though times. I had considered to quit in the beginning.

I don't have any specific advice. Mantras can help for sure. Some motivation speakers recommend techniques like visualization and meditation as well.

All these techniques increase belief so they keep us optimist for the future.

When I struggle on something, I just think that I must grow to overcome it.

Challenges help us to improve. We'll come out stronger on the other side.

I think you're advice is great. When reading between the lines, it sounds like you're saying you start inward on growth instead of starting outward--that's a great nugget there. Thanks for sharing that.

Also, I'd love to hear your feedback on the training. Especially considering I can tell we both love this topic.

Yes, this is exactly what I say. When we struggle on something, it means that we go out of our comfort zone. So, we must grow.

For example, I could not write over 500 words per day in the beginning. Writing was too hard for me. But I knew I had to write faster and better or I would fail.

Giving up was an option. Becoming better was an option too.

The last months I write every day at least 1500 words. No days off. Today, I have already written 3,500 words and still counting. These numbers were not realistic for me in the first months.

My long-term goal is to write 10,000 words per day consistently. I do not know if I will achieve it. It will be hard but I know that some people already do it.

I can't count how many times my hubby and I have been in tough times, chiefly because we tried something new and either it didn't work out or it took longer than expected.

I still remember how excited we were one day driving to the grocery store in Colorado, an hour away from where we lived. He had a new idea and we bounced it around. Well, now it is one of our best sources of income but that conversation was maybe 12 years ago.

For me, Tiffiany, the training needs to be textual or transcribed. Yesterday I used my dictation software to translate your speech to text format regarding YouTube terms of services about affiliate links, and what they do and do not do. I will send you that transcript in PM. Warning you its not perfect, errors are in there mostly spelling and some words cant be spelled based pronunciation alone. and if you could change those errors it will be a perfect transcript to post for other members like myself with hearing loss.

Gotten out of many tough times, survived a bad car crash in ‘98, broke my right ankle 2006, broke my spine, had mild heart attack, been homeless one summer in DC but had great friends to help me out. Need get out of the social security rut and poverty. Medicare insurance puts limits on you, To meet my financial meeds to live comfortable with a care plan home about 10k a month. I agree with your business plan to help those with meager finances to get us up to a six figure income or more.

My advice follow the training but not only do organic traffic but do social media marketing and get an autoresponder and get a list of interested prospects leads are important.

I appreciate you transcribing my training. It would be awesome if you could share it with those you know who want to see but can't due to closed captioning issues. That software sounds very useful. I'll PM you the link now.

Great job Tiffany! Glad you reconsidered. Always insightful to read your works.

Yes I have been in tough times! But hope and rewiring my mind to focus on what i choose to see then my current position and speaking to the right people led me through the process.

Totally agree with you to start or use what you have at the moment to pull through making informed decision.

If you believe and get to work you will be amazed at the heights you will reach. These success stories are here in WA. There is HOPE!

Congrats on your achievements Tiff and thanks for sharing your journey!!! I should get back to your training tutorials and watch from start to finish.

At the moment I'm living at my brother's babysitting nephews because his wife is stuck in Cuba with an expired PR card 🤦‍♀️ Barely taking laptop out! (Made me realize what an enormous job entrepreneurial minded parents do, I personally feel exhausted by night time and last thing I want to do is work on a site).

Anyway, to answer your questions...

Well, most WA'ers know my worst time of my life when was I couldn't walk for months and was stuck in 4 walls with broken ankle/foot. Luckily I'm feeling a LOTTTT better but it is during those days that I started my Amazon niche site that's a regular income earner.

Basically back then, I was FORCED to take action, I wasn't active physically and I didn't want to go crazy without mental/intellectual activity too. Even though I was in pain, I could sometimes distract myself by writing/learning. I was suuuuper slow with articles but I just got it done whenever I could.

So yes, I do agree with you.

Focus on what you have, what you CAN do, not what you cannot do. There's a wonderful saying "energy flows where attention goes", so focus your attention on the things that matter, on the advantages you have right now rather than disadvantages.

My advice to those who struggle:

It's a good idea to get some job when building a business on the side, so you don't feel too pressured/stressed.

It could be offline or online, there are a lot of freelance opportunities, even teaching English to foreign kids (and you don't have to have a degree for that). Or call agent. Or writing articles for others (and polishing your skills!)

Keep your ears and eyes open. Another saying I like by Thomas Edison: "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." Just because you're doing work online, doesn't mean you won't do anything. You WILL have to put in time, efforts, work and learn how to be consistent and disciplined if you want to succeed.

No other way around it.

I agree. Tough times aren't the most fun, but the character that you have when you come out of them is one of a kind! Thanks Vicki for your advice.
