Adapt or die!
In the modern day and age we find ourselves in presently it has become clear that the digital and robotics era is advancing at the speed of light. So much so that research at some of the world's leading universities show that up to 61% of chosen career options will be obsolete in 15 - 20 years time.?
What are we to do to survive in this new world? Once again mother nature comes to us with a strong message and lesson in the form of that beautiful and majestic bird the eagle!
I came across this next story as written by David Wolf on his daily Face Book posting and found it to be a good wake up call for many of us not keeping up with the times.
The eagle has the longest life-span of its species - it can live up to 70 years of age. But to reach this age, the eagle must make a very difficult decision. In its 40th year the eagle's long and flexible talons can no longer grab a prey which serves as food, It's long sharp beak becomes bent - It's old aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, stick to its chest and make it difficult to fly.
Then the eagle is left with only two options:
DIE..........................................................OR!
Go through a painful process of.......................
CHANGE!!!
This process lasts for 150 days(5 months) The process requires the eagle to fly to a mountain top and sit on its nest. There the eagle knocks its beak against a rock until it plucks it out. The the eagle will wait for the new beak to grow back after which it will pluck out its talons. When the talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking out its old aged feathers.
And after this the eagle takes it first famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years.
In order to survive and live we have to start the change process!
If an eagle can make a life saving and life changing decision at the age of 40.......................WHY CANT WE?
I can see that we here at WA have our work cut out for us as we go into the future helping other people not only to change but to start living again, to have a purpose in life and to be happy and live life at its fullest.
Just my 2 cents worth for the day and wishing you all a highly prosperous 2017.
Take care.
Johan.

I loved the story. I had never heard this about Eagles before. Perhaps I can use it in a sermon. Thanks for sharing. Great post.
You are welcome and I sure hope that a profound message of hope will go to people listening to the sermon. God Bless, Johan.
