Hey everybody, I was just wondering if anybody knew how to take an image or .jpg picture, and somehow turn that into a workable HTML or Javascript unit (kind of like Google Adsense
For a flash banner jpg and png both work with that... png can have a transparent background so you can overlay it, animate it etc. jpg is good for photos and backgrounds. If it is a flash banner you would need flash to build it.
First, you would need to get approval from WA to use their logo anyway other than how they have designed or intended it to be used. Logos are proprietary. If you are leaving the logo itself as is and simply changing the background, that would likely be ok. Companies protect how their logos are used and treated, as that is their identity, their brand... they own it and decide how you can use it....
The first thing I would ask myself is... Is my time for creating my own business, best spent recreating an established logo? If I re-create this logo will it increase sales? improve the customer experience? or should I be working on my own identity (logo)
and focus more on my brand.
You can go to http://www.fivrr.com and get the code for $5.... you have to be clear as to what you want... it it becomes very complex, then the price could go up.... use only the creators that have excellent ratings...
If you would like to spend your time learning code at this point try: Although I personally would not get sidetracked from my main project at this point. Time is money.
http://www.codeacademy.com this is free to use.
You can learn HTML, Javascript, jquery, etc
I am not trying to tell you what or how to do it... just simply sharing how I weigh business decisions.... and how I structure my personal time to accomplish all that must be completed to launch an online business. How is my time best spent to meet my daily goals, stay on my timeframe, etc. Stay focused on the big picture.
Have a good one and good luck.
Thanks, I don't mind you breaking it down like that for me. I was mainly wondering if there was an easy way of doing it. I might do it... but I think I might just stick to just using a basic link for now. May do this later. The fact I have to ask Kyle to do this makes me even more less inclined to want to do it. I've used his picture in the past though, when he could have theoretically sued me for doing so, but it's always good to play it 100% safe with copyrighted internet laws. Ttyl.
Hey Seth,
Are you asking how to create a WA flash banner and then have the ability to embed it on a network of sites whereas the actual banner resides in one place?
Well, I'm wanting to display a HTML Wealthy Affiliate flash banner on one of my sites via multiple posts aligned on the left hand side aside my page content. I'm not to the point of creating a banner for PPC ads or anything. I was curious if I needed to do this from scratch, if there was any program I needed to use (or if you have any recommendations), or what type of pictures I needed to use (.JPG, .PNG, etc.) for creating a flash banner.
I'm not exactly sure about imbedding the banner anywhere. If I did need to embed the banner somewhere to use it on a network of sites, it'd probably be on my main site at OGP, and then primarily use it on a sub-domain I'm working on right now.

HTML/Javascript - Question? : WA Banners
Hey everybody, I was just wondering if anybody knew how to take an image or .jpg picture, and somehow turn that into a workable HTML or Javascript unit (kind of like Google Adsense
Hey Seth, I'm not really sure what you're trying to do? What is the end goal here? To display an image on your website? You mention Flash, does this mean you're wanting something that moves or is animated? If you want to use Javascript to display an image then you certainly can very easily, but why go to the trouble of this?
Are you wanting to cycle through different images / banners?
Google Adsense and Amazon use Javascript to pull information from a database and display it on your site by printing out the HTML. Since you own your sites and you know what you want to display, why not just add your affiliate link up an image?
If you could provide some details about what are you trying to accomplish, I can point you in the right direction.
Carson
Hey Carson, thanks for the reply.
Yeah, I'm pretty much just wanting to create something that wouldn't be perceived as an image. If you go on the site I'm working at, you'll see on one of my money making posts how I have it setup. http://articles.onlinegamingparadise.com/work-home-jobs-blog/ Right now I've been advertising you all with a box below, but I've been thinking about actually creating a banner to advertise you all with using like a javascript or flash banner, that's 160x600 (wide vertical) on what money making related posts I have (I have around 30-40 to be published).
Part of the reason I don't want it to be perceived as an image is because I don't want an image showing up as the preview on the theme I'm using. As you can see, it doesn't perceive any Amazon products displayed as widgets as the preview, nor the Google Adsense banners, so I figure I'd do the same with a custom built WA banner. Might as well go all in and make something really cool & attractive that people will want to click on. If you're a little confusing about the preview image, it's the homepage area list of blogs that show up, with the preview showcasing any pictures by it to the left hand side of each of the posts. I have zero pictures on each of my posts because that's just the style I choose to use.
If I could get any advice on how to setup my own javascript or flash banner and display it on the left hand side in place of that 160x600 banner, that'd be awesome. Thanks a bunch.
Seth
You could write a simple javascript script and execute it on page load. This means that after the page loads, it will display the image in a div of your choice. The seems like a lot of work to do things like this.
I'm cool with it. I think if I make something really attractive, it should increase the amount of WA invites I get on all my I.M. related posts. I'll need to lookup information on how to do this myself. Thanks a bunch for the help.
You just need a function that prints HTML and the image. You can call the function in the body tag of your page using onload. I the javascript will print the image in a div on your page.
Here is a link on how to do this. In the link below, you could call the function named "image" onload of the page.

Thanks a bunch Carson. :) I don't mind the extra work load partly cuz I know I'm going to be getting into this type of stuff heavily before long anyway. I'll put this on my to do list after I finish up a couple other things I need to do first. Talk to you later!

The theme of this definitely emanates with those in the SEO world...the more competitive the term, typically the more work that it will take to get ranked. Each persons formula will evolve as they acquire experience, but you have laid out a good foundation here Seth. :)
Thanks Kyle, appreciate it. :) I think it's important that people have a strong article directory strategy, because it's easy to just simply "write" on them when you're not really helping yourself, and probably not even the article directory you're writing for. You need a solid strategy to tackle good keywords while effectively branding yourself at the same time.
Yeah, one thing that we cannot forget about though is the "visitor" and what their needs are. We can't break this down into too much of an automated process as we still need to create campaigns user engagement in mind.
Wow are we really supposed to be searching for keywords with 10,000 monthly traffic estimates? The ones I tend to find have much lower traffic estimates, at around 150-300 with extremely low or null QSR.
No, I am for over 50 searches per month. You definitely do not have to aim for more than 10K, that is very high. The key is getting low competition, ideally under a 300 QSR. In my books, any ranking is a good ranking, regardless of the traffic volume.
