I received a phone call about setting up my email for my website for WA hosting. They said it would taking about 30 minutes....I was very skeptical and 'made a later appointmen
I have been Hightracked..so I had some problems with my computer..should be ready again..to move on from where I started..
This is definitely not something that has come from Wealthy Affiliate, it's simply someone who has found your website and is using your domain WHOIS information to try and scam you. This is unrelated to WA.
I suggest making your domain contact information PRIVATE. This is referred to as Private registration and it's usually free depending on the domain registrar that you used to purchase your domain. Private registration hides your personal information so that scammers can't contact you like this.
If you leave your domain with your contact information public, this will not be the last time you get calls like this.
Again, this is not at all related to WA hosting, it's due to your contact information being public on the domain.

thanks Carson for informing us.
I've got to ask this question, because you answered this question very quickly:
Do you and Kyle live by your computers 24/7? Except for a short break here and there?
I know that seems like a silly question, I just can't get over how fast your guy's responses are.
Take care!
Hey Eric, Kyle and I are very well connected and do our best to reply to questions and comments as quickly as we can. We Do sleep and we do take weekends, but we make it a priority to always get back to people as quickly as we can!!
Glad you find the support top notch!
sounds very fishy.
You can set up email with just a few clicks, did you submit a ticket related to setting up email or something?
Nothing like that, it's why I wasn't sure. I thought maybe I did something, but knew it didn't sound right. On my phone the location was 'Beverly Hills'. (Must be nice). Thanks everyone!

A Phone Call To Set-Up Email For WA Hosting??

Just a general word of warning. I imagine that you've not used WhoIs Guard and your public details are now out there on the net from when you purchased your own domain. http://www.internic.net/whois.html I'm guessing these scammers are searching for any sites with the DNS of WA Members who host here and ringing pretending to be from WA. Many people provide the exact same details that apply to their billing when purchasing a domain name, if you're not using WhoIs Guard and do that, you are in effect opening yourself up to identity theft, ie. if you are cold-called or receive a mail-shot with an offer that appeals, and you provide credit card or bank details, you're giving a potential thief all the pieces of the jigsaw they need to steal your identity. Namecheap provides free WhoIs Guard for the first year and then charges a $2-$3 per year thereafter. It's one "upsell" that's worth considering. :) Rich.
