Membership Will End Next Month
So, I gave myself a time limit to make any money and if I failed after a couple of months, I would end it. My focus has been on Wealthy Affiliate and I've put whatever effort that I can and still have yet to make $1. I hope by next month I will have made something, if not, maybe it just wasn't for me or it was just a slow start.
I am not saying WA doesn't work, trust me, it makes plenty of sense as to why it should. I never caught onto a niche and have stuck with the basic of "Making Money Online" theme. I really just need to focus on my online classes and continue putting my priorities first: Family and school.
I did want to thank everyone for helping me, giving me advice, and being supportive. You guys are a great community. I appreciate everything you have done.
We shall see where I'm at a month later. Who knows, maybe you'll see me again in the future.
Sincerely,
Jessica

So you "never caught onto a niche" in a couple of months... and you decide to tackle the BIGGEST most COMPETITIVE niche amongst professional marketers who have been at it for years? Well it may not be that IM is not for you.... you just started off with the biggest mistake a beginner could make....
Adjust... find that reasonably, workable niche and begin anew.... forget the 'moneymaking' thing.... it will NOT work for you because you do not have, and cannot have, the right mindset you sell it.... because... YOU have not made any money yet. Everything you do, everything you write will be skewed and NOT believable to your readers... the confidence of your promotions is not, and cannot be there....
Wish you luck

I am brand spanken new to Wealthy Affiliates. As I am employed full time I was thinking on approaching this as a part time job for now . Would this be a good approach or will take more time and dedication
I started at WA whilst in full time employment and segued into working for myself after 6 months or so. I gave up TV. :) Rich.
I was working a full time job when I started out here just about a year ago, but for about 5 months now, I only work part time at my job. Just do what you can here as often as you can. Even if it's something small, at least it's one more step forward.
What I do is set some smaller goals that I know are possible to get done for each day and check them off as I get them done. This way I can see I've accomplished something and also it helps to keep me on track as to what I'm supposed to be doing.
Tasks that seem larger or more time consuming, I save for my days off when I can focus on them more completely and not have to worry about other things going on. Although sometimes things that look overwhelming are actually not that difficult once you get started on it. I also rarely, if ever watch TV, like @Rich says.
It can be a long process to make money online. For instance it 8 months for my first site to start to earn. But I realize this IM thing may not be everyone.
I started back in December 2012 and I got my first commission payday the first of this month from WA now that this site is paying my way I can start concentrating on building others for more income. Like everyone says this is a learning process not a get rich quick scheme that all the others try to throw at us. Hang in there and it will work for you as it is starting for me.
Hi Jessica,
I understand your frustration. There is potential to make money. The wealth affiliate program is very thorough, the training is extensive, but extremely helpful. Have tried other internet marketing plans and this is by far the best education you will find. Hang in there!!

A couple of months is not enough time! I am sure you have put a ton of effort into your site. Would you want that effort to go to waste? Very few things that will produce recurring income are "finished" after a few months. I am sure your family and school are important to you but so is this. You would not have taken the time to write your "cry for help" if it wasn't. I would step back from it, take a breath and start again. Please do not stop digging a foot away from gold.
I think 2 months is too quick for any business, let alone this one, can you focus in on a niche,
Mobile game sites (fan/tips/tactics)
Job/Career programs and certification (exam prep/job req's)
Discount/Deal sites
Complaints/Ripoff sites
Pet problems (dental/health)
Recipes sites
Database sites
Pest Control sites
Wedding sites
Travel guides
Career advice
How -to/DIY sites
Collectible/Memorabilia sites
Photography
Sports Streaming
Business Software
Tumblr
Sports injuries
Services (Domestic/service_
Lifestyle challenges
Online games
or go to dmoz.org and find a niche there.....
Be sad to see you go Jessica,,,,,,,,as they say here in UK....'We're all in this together"

Affiliate marketing is a business, giving yourself a 2 month time frame is not a realistic goal. Stick with it you will get the hang of it, Don't give up on yourself this early on.
Hey Jessica. MMO is hugely competitive and you definitely have to be in it for the long haul. I always recommend someone pick a "passion" niche for their first site, it's often much quicker to see results. You might want to have a read of this https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/if-i-were-to-start-a-new-site Rich.
I know the word 'passion' is offered up quite often.... but be careful with 'your' passion... it may be a lousy niche.
One may find, and would be better off stirring up a new passion when you find that demand/need for something and see the numbers are ripe for the picking.... All of a sudden you will have a new passion.... for making some money..... If you could make money with 'pencils', believe me, you will have a passion... for pencils.
I say again, be careful with what YOU love, because often times there may not be enough people out there loving it like you.... or, it just may not be a marketable love.

@ formyfamily: I hate to dislike a fellow member within our community, but I think your advice is bad. I do agree you could learn to feel passion for something that makes you money, but is that a true passion? There are billions of people on the web. To think you cannot reach enough people that share the same passion as you is ridiculous. If you put good content on your site, write articles relating to your site and offer help to people on your site, good things will happen. People buy from people they feel comfortable with. I believe people can see through tunnel vision. Just seeking a monetary return on your site is tunnel vision. Truly wanting to help someone that shares in your passion is genuine and real. In the long run, I believe you will make more money and create more loyalty with a genuine passion versus a money making passion. If you are looking to make a quick buck, you are probably correct. Again, I am not trying to start a heated debate. I am just offering a different view.

You should definitely give it more time. I'm just starting here and have no idea what to do, but it looks like there's a lot of help and support.
