SEO over Content? Don't Think So.

It has always been the industry standard of all website holders and bloggers to focus on SEO and making sure of strategic keywords within the content of their publications as to make it through the sifter of all the other numerous credible websites and not be cast out with all the other "so called" unwanted rubbish.

The past emphasis on this practice has been drilled into training and coaching since the beginning in order to gain rank and exposure on any and all search engines to achieve that coveted first page.

We have created strategies to use not only keywords and phrases, but also backlinks to gain popularity in the arena of clicks.

As we all know, Google is the Holy Grail of internet search. Our websites and blogs can live or die depending on where we rank. This thought process plagues or minds during our literary construction of content and can bring great influence our structure and word use.

Google has and will constantly change the rules, methods, and algorithms of how it ranks its pages. There really is no way we can keep up with how they articulate the way in which they rank us.

Enter in a new player that has greatly affected the ranking network.......FAKE NEWS!

Yes, due to the last United States Presidential Election a focus on fake news has come to the forefront and all channels of internet information providers from Google to Facebook have placed filters and triple-fact check algorithms in to prevent this element from taking away anything from their reputation.

With this in mind, we must concentrate on the quality of our content. But not only that, if we use referenced material, we must ensure its credibility in order not to be marked or labeled as one promoting this plague of fake news.

Google has instituted ways to identify good quality content and reward it with high ranking in its search engine kingdom.

Do clicks and keywords still play a part.........absolutely!

But it only plays a smaller part than in the past.

What is the point of this???

Concentrate on your content first. The internet audience is fickle and it takes only one bad label to curse you. Then you can find yourself doing ten times the work to remove the curse.

Stay true to your site, information, and readers. Make sure you dot all of the "I's" and cross those "T's" to protect your coveted reputation.

The game is continually changing. Make sure to change with it. You really don't want to pull that "Go to Jail" card.

The options of getting out are becoming harder. It's your reputation.....Protect it!

Just remember.................SOLID CONTENT ALWAYS WINS!

Be Creative and Productive!

Thank you for those points, I learned from them.

I wish you much success,

Leon B.

Glad to help. Thanks for stopping by.

Good content is most important! How do you determine what you just wrote is good content?

Being informative without deception and using reputable sources that quantify your content.

Example: How being overweight contributes to diabetes.
Reference: Diabetes.org, Mayo Clinic, Medicalnewstoday.com

Also, speaking from experience using the "What, Where, How, Why format in your writing.

Hope this helps.

Greg

Hello Salvatore, good question. From my perspective there are two ways to determine that. The first is how the post is ranked by the SEOs, the higher the ranking in terms of page location, and importance, the better. The second is the number of visitors to the post and if it is shared on the social media sites.

Also great points!

Thanks Harvey for contributing!

The content of what SeaHawk has written is good content since it is warning you to be aware of the deception and lies that are lurking at every corner.

In order not to be sucked in by this phenomena, we need to be creating authentic and legitimate and verifiable content.

Absolutely!

I agree, good content is king. Thanks for the advice. Tom
