10 Referrals So Far But NO Sales - $ - Why?
Hello Folks,
today I just decided to write about my ups and downs here at Wealthy Affiliate - it is true that I have been here for about 8 months - not quite long, however, through organic traffic I have referred 10 people to this great community.
But my only problem is that - I still haven't been able to make any sales so far. I have set up all my welcome messages, plus Kyle's own welcome messages to all theses referrals and yet no sales.
Is anyone here experiencing the same problem as I'm going through? Let me know your thought on this.

Hi, Stephen. As judging by the responses that have been posted so far, on average 1 out of every 12. (or roughly 8%) or so will referrals will upgrade to premium. I was actually doing quite well very early this year in 2017, but have slumped off since.
I think it has to do a lot with the messages you have set up within the affiliate program. I know that I tinker with messages every so often. You just can't come across as pushy. Instead, and as it is perfectly legal to do so, I include links in my messages coming from very successful members here at WA who have attained Super Affiliate status in the past and who posted inspiring articles on the dashboard.
An inspiring message could cause new referrals to at least give consideration to upgrading; that is if they're truly serious about wanting to learn how to build an online business. The problem with a percentage of these people, however, is that they're nothing but "tire-kickers" who also believe that they will become rich immediately after creating an online business.
Even though I state, (more than once) on my landing page as well as in all of my CTA's included near the end of my website articles, joining any legit training program such as Wealthy Affiliate is NOT going to be equivalent to becoming a member of some fraud get-rich-quick venture - a handful of these individuals just have the wrong mindset about what it would take to build a business.
Unfortunately, many of these referrals have to "see the light" so to speak as to what Wealthy Affiliate has to offer to those who are serious about creating a financially successful online business for themselves.
Just hang in there, Stephen. I know that is what so many of us who promote WA are doing.
Dear friend,
As many said conversion is high on wa.
Normally it is 1 to 5%.
So 10 referrals is a lot so far.
Know that it takes minimum 7 times before one decides to buy.
You cOuld send them the blackfriday link. Which is really very engaging.
Referrals are the first step so you are on your way. None of mine have converted yet, but I know it's a process. We have to keep developing our site and trust.

your upgrade rate tends to be a lot lower in the beginning. If I look at all of my referrals since I started making sales, I have around a 12% upgrade to premium rate. However, that's over the last year on average. I have gone for periods where I have had 20+ referrals and zero sales... then the next month, I may suddenly get several sales in a row. You're likely close to getting your first premium soon now I'd think! But you also need to look at where you're getting the most traffic to your WA review page... are you attracting people who are willing to spend money to make money online, or freebie seekers? I personally have plenty of people who probably don't want to spend money online, as I review ways you can save money online, as well as make it. Good luck!
The average, I have been told is that 1 out of 8-12 is going premium, to get to that average, you understand, there will be referrals who are, after becoming a member, not interested. You might be close getting your first premium though, with 10 signups.
Thanks Loes, I understand that. I'm just wondering when my first sales will come. I'm hopping it comes soon.
Today would be the best timing for your referrals, with the Black Friday discount, but next week would be much better for you ;)
Your referral gets a discount during the BlackFriday/CyberMonday and pays 299 for the annual membership, and you get 130 from that, next week, your referrals have to pay $359 for the annual membership, and you will get paid $175.
So for you it's better when they upgrade next week:))
When your referrals are smart, they 'll step in today. Have you sent them a note on their profile, that the discount is limited and only last for today? You are welcome to share my blog with them. Top Cyber Monday deal
You're not alone. It's a numbers game like any affiliate product. 100 traffic may make 1 sale while on another day 100 traffic may make none. This month I've had 29 free sign ups from organic traffic with no premium sales. It just happens. Sales will come when you build more traffic and start getting 10 free sign ups a day etc..

Sales is a numbers game. Every no you receive moves you that much closer to the one that will be saying yes. You are incredibly close. Best wishes.
