My Biggest Marketing Mistake
For some reason, I have been thinking about all the mistakes I have made along my internet marketing journey.
Mistakes...oh my! There have been soooooooo many.
- Buying product after product, never to be used.
- Giving thousands of dollars to unscrupulous scammers.
- Buying domain names I would never use.
- Jumping from one program to another thinking..."this is the one that is going to make me rich overnight".
- Never staying focused long enough to accomplish anything significant.
- And...the list goes on!
But...there is ONE HUGE MISTAKE I made above all others:
'NOT HAVING THE INSIGHT TO GET MENTORING & TRAINING'
Bar none...that was the biggest!
It is really unfortunate that I didn't realize the importance of having someone guide me through the learning process. I can only imagine where I would be today. I shiver... remembering the countless hours I put in with no results, the huge some of money I spent and the sheer frustration of it all. Ouch!
Many times I walked away but something kept drawing me back in.
I have come full circle and I believe this journey was meant to be. I can't express how grateful I am to have found the mentoring and training that was, ironically, waiting for me all along.

I should have added a statistic that we all need to keep in mind and that is studies of highly successful entrepreneurs have shown that most failed 3.8 times before they hit on their niche business model where everything began to click. (Like Henry John Heinz who was into chocolate before he hit his groove with ketchup.)
Never fear failure. Welcome it as a gift to learn and grow much like Edison who said, "I have not failed, I have just learned 10,000 ways that do not work."
In the world of online marketing, thankfully none of us has to go through thousands of failed website niches. As Sandy penned so well, most of us just need a good mentor to point the way. Sail on dear ones.
I tend to get ahead of myself too often and then I need to dial it back a bit. Follow the process and don't jump the gun... I need to remind myself of that often.
To me, the biggest blunder of all is giving up. And I've had my fair share of wanting to do just that. But it's important to never give up. I think there has never been a better time to start a business with the powerful reach of the internet.
Sure, there are a lot of shiny objects as they call them that try to entice us and sometimes succeed in doing so. But even with that, believing in what we are doing is the greatest way to overcome any of the nonsense.

I have only been doing this a month so I don't know what my biggest blunder is, but I am sure it will happen to me sooner or later. But I can say the biggest blunder I have made is not seriously looking into something like this before, but I'm glad have now, and I am glad you feel you are on the right path, Sandy. Here is to our success.
