Are You Blogging Regularly? It Really Does Work!
I have been working online since 2007 and I am aware of the importance of writing regular blog posts, however, sometimes this is easier said than done! I have an off-line business which is going well and this can take quite a bit of my time, the workload varies from week to week, so sometimes I'm able to write more than other times.
Recently I have been writing short blog posts regularly for my off-line business, which is a service business. I've just been writing about what I'm actually doing and where I'm working and adding some very basic information, I'm also adding a few photographs. The point is, this is really working for me.
I have carried out a Google search and many times I'm coming out at the top of Google, just through writing these short simple posts. I actually always try and ask people where they have found me as I am on several places on the web. The majority of the times they are finding me on my new website which is about four months old, I'm using many of the principles found here on Wealthy Affiliate, we can all do the same.
I know for a fact that on my other websites, when I blog, my income increases, however, this is easier said than done sometimes due to time!
When I write new blog post, I can normally carry out a Google search and find myself on page 1 within 2 to 3 days! The power of the Internet never fails to amaze me!
To conclude, adding content and blogging works, I know to most of us this is nothing new, but I just want to remind you of how a few simple blog posts can change everything! I also know that my phone is ringing a lot more with work enquiries!

Let me ask, when you do a Google search to check your blogs in the SERPs, do you only search by the main keyword, or the title of the article, URL, or something else?

When I tried the new search, for example, I may put something like "electrician Colchester" and then often my results will be at the top of the page. And I don't use quotes for the search either! PS: I am not actually an electrician!

The term "electrician Colchester" Roy is a general term related to your business, or is it a keyword you used in the article(s) appearing near the top of the SERPs?

That's great! I have a similar problem myself, as I am very busy writing freelance content for other people and it takes up so much of my time that it's hard to find time for my own sites. I'm trying to flip that around, seeing as how that was the goal to begin with, but it's hard because right now, it's that freelancing that actually pays the bills. I'll get there, but I may have to resort to writing more frequent short blogs, rather than the longer ones I'm used to aiming for. Glad to see it's working for you!

I fully understand what you are saying, my off-line business keeps me quite busy, but it is paying the bills! I would just try and make time in your day, maybe take a break from your freelancing work for an hour and write your own blog post, I appreciate that this may not be a proper break for you! The short posts are definitely working for me, which is great news, so this may be worth trying.
Sometimes I think we try too hard when writing a blog post, we try and add keywords and so many words per post, but writing naturally has a lot to offer I believe!

Hey Roy. Congratulations on your achievements. Your post is an encouragement for me to write more content regularly and get them indexed in Google.
My website is 4 months old now and, I do plan to write more interesting content on a regular basis and hopefully, my website can rank among the first pages of Google like yours.
