425,000,000 people use crypto worldwide according a recent report published by Henley & Partners.

Are you one of them?

From 0 to 425,000,000 users in 15 years. Not bad, huh?

To put that massive number into perspective:

  • If "crypto users" were a country, it would be the 3rd most populated country in the world. Only China and India are still bigger.
  • There are 11 times more crypto users than the entire population of Canada
  • There are 77 times more crypto users than the entire population of Finland (=my home country)

How much time will it take to get the number of crypto users to 8 billion?

My guess is that the oldest generation will die and a new generation will born before every person on our planet will use crypto.

Young people usually learn to use new technologies faster.

If you look at the demographics of Bitcoin/crypto users, they tend to be the younger ones.

That said, I've seen 50+ and 60-year-old people also using Bitcoin/crypto.

Even billionaire Bill Miller, a 73-year-old American investing legend, uses Bitcoin. Perhaps he has hired people to help him but the point is that anyone can learn.

I estimate that through my YouTube channels possibly 10,000's of people have become Bitcoin/crypto users.

Personally, I'm what they call a "Bitcoin maximalist". I hold 0 cryptos long-term and 100% in Bitcoin.

I think that Bitcoin is making the biggest positive impact in the world and it's definitely the only de-centralized money at the moment.

A nice thing is that all the time more companies and websites are making their affiliate payments using Bitcoin or crypto.

I quickly listed below a few benefits of Bitcoin for affiliates. You can probably come up with more in the comments section.

Benefits of Bitcoin for Affiliates

  • Work on making the world a better place, more equal for everyone
  • Easier and faster affiliate payments
  • No need to spend time converting government currencies into Bitcoin after receiving the payments
  • Works worldwide (PayPal and other payments methods don't)
  • Save money on transaction fees
  • Etc.

Roope, I agree with you that cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology can and will fix fundamental problems of fiat currencies and solve significant problems for use cases in other areas such as supply chain. As more of the public adopts crypto, they will become more and better educated on the subject and will become more sophisticated users. For many non-adopters, or partial adopters "crypto" and "bitcoin" are synonymous, but of course, they are not. Bitcoin and Ethereum are still the crypto blue-chips just because of recognition but both have significant limitations because they are early iterations of the underlying technology. Bitcoin has a huge carbon footprint and Ether transactions are subject to high and volatile gas fees. It is also relevant to note that developers have been steadily shifting activity to other level 1 blockchains. So while bitcoin may retain much of its value the real long-term promise will be in other coins. Sadly, notwithstanding the serious and useful development work that is going on in the crypto ecosystem, many of the general public are still only exposed to scammers and fraudsters.
Cheers
Andy

Wow, those crypto stats are mind-blowing! 🚀 I first heard about Bitcoin a few years back and started diving into crypto not too long ago. The potential for a decentralized future is exciting. 💡 Let's keep spreading the knowledge and bring crypto to more people! 🌏💰

Yes it's really mind-blowing how fast Bitcoin & crypto are spreading worldwide.

Roope, it's understandable that Billionaires are using Crypto since they are the ones who are controlling things.

It's obvious that Crypto is here to stay since it is the FED who created Crypto in the first place.

As for half a billion in 15 years who have joined, I'd like to bet that most of them are people getting scammed.

With around 20k different currencies today you have to ask the question why and this is an area that I won't be getting involved with.

The next thing (mind you it's already happening in the US) is everybody getting implants so that "they" have complete control.

That's the way AI is going and if I am not mistaken not too long ago Elon Musk was against AI and the way it was heading and now the lunatic is working on connecting implants in the brain.

The world has gone mad, yet the majority of people will follow what their so-called leaders that they voted in tell them.

Thanks for the information.

I'm actually doing something very ambitious and new for me here at Wealthy Affiliate and it does involve the cryptocurrency industry.. I'm doing a video series/case study to show people that you can create a successful online business at Wealthy Affiliate and so I'm creating a website and affiliate marketing business from scratch and it targets the crypto niche because I have experience with it and it is still a relatively young, but growing asset class and things are slowly heating up with it.

1

Investing in crypto is great because it has always been decentralized with no government intervention and controlled on the blockchain. However, most governments around the world are in the throes of introducing it into their currency reserves and doing away with paper money and coins. Once crypto is controlled by Governments, it will not longer be a a good option for investors. Cheers, Jenni.

3

That's why I prefer Bitcoin, not crypto. Most cryptos are centrally controlled as you described. Bitcoin is the only de-centralized money.

I encourage every government trying to stop Bitcoin because it will bring millions of new users into Bitcoin immediately through all the media publicity.

5

In my opinion, I would pay attention to a few others because they promise to change the way money and other asset classes is transferred around the world. Instead of replacing money, they are making it to where it's transferred in just a few seconds anywhere in the world into whatever denomination it needs to be depending on the country it arrives in.

Bitcoin will be top because it's the first of its kind and has a much more limited supply and is decentralized as you said, but it's not the best technology wise and its network is much slower compared to others. I'm not saying Bitcoin is a bad investment as I have just a little invested in it, but I have much more invested in others that are more promising such as XRP as the company who created it, which is Ripple, wants to use it to either replace the current and outdated SWIFT system or have SWIFT switch to their system for transferring money. MANY institutions worldwide and other countries are jumping on board with Ripple and XRP and XRP is now the top crypto in Japan.

Ok, I think I've said too much, put you can tell I'm passionate about crypto and can see how it's related to what I'm now doing here at WA which I mentioned in another post in this thread :)

2

I agree with you. XRP is a much more promising crypto. Bitcoin is the first, well recognized crypto, but that's it's only positive attribute. XRP is being adopted by corporations and governments around the world. Unlike Bitcoin, it costs next to nothing to make transactions. It's speed of transaction ("time to finality") and the amount of transactions it can accommodate at one time ("throughput") far outpaces Bitcoin.

I still place most of my trust in real assets, like gold and silver, but I'm hoping a few decentralized crypto's will free the world from central bank tyranny and theft.

Bitcoin transactions are not capable of being anonymous. Because the Bitcoin blockchain records the wallet addresses of everyone who uses it, the thieves at the Federal Reserve can track all transactions. Only privacy coins are anonymous (Monero, etc.) However, the bankSters are attacking those for that reason. Bitcoin is great in that it introduced the world to crypto and its possibilities, but much better ones have been developed. Unless the worlds citizens can transact anonymously, as we can with cash, we will never be free of those parasites.
