11-year-old post ranked #1 on Google
I searched yesterday on Google "1000 true fans" and came up with something interesting.
Take a look when the post was written / published that's ranked #1
It was written more than 11 years and 7 months ago.
That's more than 4,230 days ago.
And it's still ranked #1 on Google.
Then I thought, "Hmmm... Maybe this keyword isn't so competitive and it's not driving them any traffic."
I was wrong.
Take a look at the metrics in Jaaxy:
QSR (Quoted Search Results) = competition is 240 which means that there is A LOT of competition for this specific keyword.
It would be hard to rank on top of Google for so competitive keyword.
And there's also a decent amount of traffic coming in every single month. Usually, Jaaxy shows lower traffic and search numbers than they are in reality.
It means that this 11-year-old article is driving tons of traffic with that keyword.
IN ADDITION, this article is most likely getting ranked and driving traffic from many other keywords as well.
What Does This Mean to You?
If you write a post today, it can still generate you visitors, leads and income after 11 years.
Think about it...
You write an article today.
It generates you money every single year for the next 11 years and still later.
That can add up into a huge sum of money for just one article.
That one successful article may cover the costs / efforts for 100 other articles that didn't get so much traffic.
=> Keep on creating content!

This is wonderful but if i may ask, is it Google that open the account for you into which money is paid? Moreover, when does your article begins to bring you money? Is it after we have completed the training or immediately we start writing article during the certification course?

You can start earning when you add for example some promotions to your posts and someone clicks them.
I recommend going through the level 3 of the training and come back to me then with more questions :)

Yeah, it's great to see things like this. I hope some of my articles will still drive traffic even after 10 years :D
Note it has 517 comments, and it was rewritten recently as they write in the first paragraph. So this is not an abandoned post, it has had lots of traction in all these years.
Yes, that's a good point too. Most of the comments are from visitors so they're boosting it more.

Absolutely true, this is the main reason that I'm returning to WA and affiliate marketing. My website promoting WA was built 5 years ago. Most of the content (150 posts) was written 5 years ago. There has been a hand full of post since then. The website is still producing traffic with an occasional sale. If I had done 100+ post per year for that entire 5 years, I would probably be killing it right now. I'm not but I will be 5 years from now.

I'm glad you are returning to Wealthy Affiliate, it's great you have a site that already has content. It is always very easy to look back and think about what something could have been, however, now is the time! I think with a hundred plus posts per year you would have now been having great success.
