Domain Registrars, Who is the best.

I have done a lot of research over the years. And For one I do not like GoDaddy at all due to they let you buy a domain name cheap the first year then renew it at double the normal cost. I have been with Namecheap before and they raised the prices after one year but that was for the privacy. Then we have Namesilo. They are 8.99 including Free ICANN fees and Free WHOIS Privacy every year

.

As you can see Namesilo is by far cheaper and I have never had any problems with support. i have transferred all of my domains over to the 8.99 a year.

namecheap by far the best
John

Where you buy a domain is a matter of choice. Investigate if in doubt before purchasing. There are quite a few providers to choose from and YES some are better than others. I'll stick with namecheap.com because it seems to be a very reputable company, trustworthy, and affordable. Not to mention it was suggested by Kyle whom I believe would not steer us astray. Best to you Rodney. See you in the winners circle....Jim

I transferred about 7 domains to NameSilo.com a month or so ago and it went very smoothly, maybe 30-40 minutes "down" once the actual transfer got authorized -- and they were transferred to NameSilo out of go daddy, which does not make it so easy but you can do it!

I picked NameSilo.com because they were $1.70 each domain less expensive (at that time) than namecheap.com and they also give you FREE privacy not just the first year but EVERY YEAR -- which is another cost to add on renewal if you used the others but not sure how much extra, I could not find the cost they charge on the name cheap.com site today when I looked.

NameSilo also gave me a free year to all transferred domains.

I found their domain controls less complicated than godaddy had been.

Namesilo has an affiliate program, if that matters, same as name cheap, same as godaddy.

That's why I love them. Good price. Doesn't change year to year and that year bonus when you transfer.

For my teo cents.. I like Namecheap :=)

I highly recommend NameCheap.com!

I find NameCheap the best so far.

I just had that happen with go daddy what I paid .99 for last year is costing 14.97 Thanks for the info

Hi - I've used a number (usually because I had hosting with them too).

These were 123-reg.co.uk, fasthosts.co.uk, ukfast.co.uk and others - their control panels are very comprehensive.

But as Michelle says - NameCheap setups are instant (if you point your DNS to WA hosting when setting up, it seems to appear in your WA panel straight away) and they appear to be the company getting the most mentions here - and in my experience, they are much cheaper for .com/.net than the ones I've mentioned - however I've not been with them for more than 1 year yet, so renewal costs I'm not sure of just now.

I hope this helps?

All the best, Mark

I have been moving mine over to namecheap when it is time to renew them. Not familiar with the cheaper company. If you sell a domain or website will they push ownership over easily? Namecheap does.

All the domains I sell are with Namesilo and they push the name as my name every time. They work well with my hosting business.

I used to use another site not mention on WA and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Since coming here I've been buying through namecheap and find they transfer domains instantly. Always willing to hear of a better option, thank you. I'll check them out.
