This is a really interesting topic, Robert, something to experiment with. I think most of the time we choose colours intuitively but it's much better to be aware of the psychology behind it.
Yes indeed Beate and hope you went away with a few ideas on how you will use this psychology.
Have a brilliant Thursday and thank you for stopping by and for your comment.
Robert
That's a grey area Mike lol.
I am colour blind so I have a hard enough time getting them right but I can see Grey in all its shades.
Hope you're having a great Thursday so far.
Robert
No probs Mike there are a lot of grey areas lol.
Now I'm about to get off this machine and into a hot bath.
Catch you another day.
Robert
Thanks Robert,
As I love this "color in marketing" post as I am a designer by vocation and passion. The practical benefits in using color to inspire action is ver compelling stuff and I am curious for more information. I will follow the link.
Much appreciation for your effort in sharing

Thanks very much Robert for this helpful information. I have long been aware that colours play a big part in website design. In saying that, I've never taken the time to find out the actual affect each colour has in terms of visitors on a website. I've mainly stayed with blue, black and white background, which can be either okay, or monotonous.
So, there's no excuses now. You've provided all I need to know about the effects of different colours.
Valerie
Hello Valerie and thank you for your visit and for your input.
I'm at a slight disadvantage because I'm colour blind.
However as long as the word for the colour is there i can get by.
Blue and black are good colours to use and of course text on a white background is always best.
Have a great Friday evening. (9.45 am here)
The sun is out here so I will be out and about shortly.
Robert
Thanks for your response, Robert. In spite of your colour blindness you certainly do well with your websites.
As it was with you yesterday, it is sunny here this morning at 11.22 am. The sun is lovely but it is very cold indoors, unless I turn a heater on. Also last night the weather man on TV1 warned "enjoy the next couple of days as changes are coming". Anyway, I'll enjoy this sunny day and let the new days come as they will.
Have a nice weekend.
Valerie
My colour blindness is the usual ones for men - Green Brown, Red, Orange.
If I look too long at a whole lot of colours in one spot they all gel together into a mess.
But I know the sky is blue and the grass is green cos somebody told me so lol.
I only know one woman who is colour blind.
Our forecast is for a heat wave next week.
That will probably be our summer lol.
Have a great weekend as well Valerie.
Robert
Thanks Robert. I enjoyed reading your response, particularly about what someone told you. Lol
It seems as though your summers are like NZ summers - short and sweet! If only winter could be similar. I'd be happy to settle for Spring and Autumn to each be longer.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Valerie
A beautiful day today so I will be off out on my bike soon.
I like to cycle out into the countryside and blow away the cobwebs.
Such a lot to see as well that you don't get the chance in a car and you can always go places traffic can't.
Have a great week to come Valerie.
Robert
What a wonderful way to spend a day. It brings back memories of times gone by.
You have a great week too Robert.
Valerie
I do a lot of cycling to keep my joints working.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I also have my exercise bike on which I do 5 miles each day.
Have a great Monday evening Valerie.
Robert
Well done, Robert.
Exercise is a great way to help the joints.
I used to have an exercise bike and it helped me to keep fit. I was much younger then, but could do to have the bike now. Alternatively, a treadmill would be helpful as the cold weather is causing pain in my legs, and one hand. I'm typing this wearing fingerless gloves. (Mittens, I believe they're called. But I relate those to kittens, which certainly does not apply to me!)
However, it's just a 'patch' and I'll get back to normal when the weather warms up, in about 2 months time.
Enjoy your day Robert.
Valerie
Hi Valerie
I'm thinking we are about the same age and the soreness and sometimes very painful 'Flare-Ups' come with age so we have to put up with it. (this is what my doctor told me)
I'm also thinking that your hand is probably getting the soreness from your wrist.
Some days I use the support in pic 1 but usually get by with an Elasticated cotton tube something like in pic 2.
Maybe something like pic 3 would help you.
Its another nice sunny day here so I will be off out again.
Have a good one yourself Valerie.
Robert
Hi Robert, Thanks so much for the pics. I was not aware of those aids, so that is good information to have.
What your doctor told you applies to me, too.
The great thing today is that it is beautifully sunny.
Enjoy your day Robert.
Valerie
No probs Valerie and they are quite good and low cost.
New Zealand dollar to GBP = £1 = $0.52 NZ
This will work out to about $20 NZ for the 1st pic one which is the most expensive.
Another good day today, the weather is spoiling us lol.
Have a good one.
Robert
PS
By the way I have a new follower from your neck of the woods.
I mentioned you live in New Zealand as well so you will probs get a Follow Request from her.
I also found another thing that might help your hands.
Its on sale in a catalogue we have here in the UK.

Thanks Robert for the information on currency conversion, and the additional therapy gloves.
Thank you also for making the connection with Linda. She sent me a PM and said that a mutual follower had mentioned me. That is very nice. I have responded to Linda and no doubt I'll hear from her again soon.
This morning was very cold due to heavy frost. But, the sun is shining now and it is a lovely day.
Enjoy your day Robert.
Valerie
No probs Valerie.
Great day over here again so I'm off out.
Robert
