Additional Tips
These additional tips are only my personal opinions and preferences and the things I wish I've done when I started. Some of these tips can save time and/or frustration down the line.
1. Affiliate Marketing Process Simplified
Affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to earn money online. Here are the basic steps of how you will earn with Affiliate Marketing:
- Find your niche (topic) for your website.
- Create content.
- Find affiliate programs/services/products relevant to your niche to promote, sign up and get your affiliate links.
- Add your affiliate links to existing and new content.
- Work on getting traffic to your website.
- Customers click on your affiliate links and buy the products/services.
- You get a commission.
The biggest challenges in the life cycle of affiliate marketing are creating content and attracting traffic to your website.
Get this right and you're well on your way to success!
2. It's Not All About Affiliate Marketing
Remember, affiliate marketing is not the only way to make money with your website. There are plenty of other ways to utilize your website for profit.
Here are only a few examples of alternatives, or you can even use it in combination with affiliate marketing:
- Sell your own physical products online.
- Sell advertising space on your website.
- Publish sponsored posts.
- Write reviews for products and companies - some might even send you freebies or pay you.
- Sell digital products like ebooks, printables, graphics, templates and podcasts.
- Start a membership site with premium content.
- Start an e-commerce site.
- Create and sell your own online courses. (This is an excellent option because you can create online courses for nearly every type of niche)
- Add a business directory page to your website where businesses can list their companies and pay you.
- Create a website for your existing business (An excellent marketing tool for any brick and mortar business).
- You can even create your own affiliate program. Once you've created your own website product(s)/services, such as a course or an eBook, you can create your own affiliate program and recruit affiliates to help spread the word to attract more traffic to your website.
- You can sell your professional services by adding a "Hire me" page or creating a portfolio website. This is excellent for niches like graphic design, website design and many more.
- Ask for donations. Add a simple PayPal donation button on your website and ask people to donate a couple of bucks if they like your content. You could also link to a "Buy Me A Coffee" page. Some of the biggest websites out there run either partly or solely on donations, including your friend and mine, Wikipedia.
- Become a consultant in your niche.
- Creating and monetizing YouTube videos in combination with your website is also an excellent opportunity for earning.
- Sell your website(s). A well-developed website with good content, traffic and income potential can fetch a good price.
Have I missed anything?
You can monetize your website in many ways and using a combination of different income streams (like the ones mentioned above) will also increase your profit potential.
Keep in mind getting traffic to your website is vital and many of the options mentioned above rely on a fair amount of traffic.
To get traffic, you need to create quality content and offer products and services people are interested in.
Conclusion
Your first priority should be to help people. The money part comes second.
If you only think of the money part, it will reflect in your content and people will pick up on it.
I highly recommend all newbies follow the training to the letter and complete each task before you start exploring other alternatives.
This will give you the chance to learn the process and create content. Once you have enough quality content and some decent traffic to your website, you can start exploring other options.

I really appreciate the list of ways to earn online apart from a website. Actually, I have just begun to work on YouTube but need 1000 followers to be able to monetize directly. Good suggestions. Thanks.
My pleasure Jim. Youtube is an excellent source to direct traffic to your website if you utilize it correctly and vice versa.
Have a great day!
