How Will YOU Earn Money?

There are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business.

Today we are going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet the most powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now. It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

Just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE: How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained

Over the coming days you are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. In the coming lessons we are going to be walking you through the following process (and the video above explains it).

There are 3.75 BILLION people online as of 2018 (YOUR audience) and these people are searching for things all the time.

They are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff. That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people and earning revenue in the process.

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience. You will have your very own piece of the internet and a platform to connect anyone that you want who browses the Internet.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

Join Discussion: What Are Your "money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

is there any way I can delete everything and start over ? Ive been trying to follow mrs. marion blacks training on backing up websites but ive seem to have missed a step and now when I try to edit my privacy page it comes up wp clone.. guess what im asking is how do I get my original url back

I believe WA do backups also so you could ask Site Support to roll you back to an earlier save, maybe worth a try rather than starting all over again.

I was originally going to do boys bicycles but when I checked with Jazzy it wasn't ranking very well. So I thought of pet toys and it gave me a very high ranking for pet toys for dogs. So I figured I would try that one. Nowadays people buy ridiculous things for their pets so it could be good, to start at least right. If you don't think so please let me know, I am up for suggestions.

I am trying to put together some of my passions to find my niche. I love kids, but I don't have kids...but I am an amazing aunt! I could do everything to make my nephews and nice happy with gifts, but in special help with their development in life. I believe that could be a good idea have a website focus in aunts and uncles as me that are looking for something special to be remembered for their beloveds. I would love to hear from you guys if that is a good niche.

Everything that you are passionate about is a possible niche.

Thanks! I will narrow that idea...

Zappades is right .

Try asking yourself
I want to help people_____
and fill in the blank.

You want to choose something that is not high in competition and if it is then you can narrow it down.

Choose something that will bring you joy to write about because you will be doing a lot of writing about your niche.

Look at other websites within the niches you are thinking about.
Check Google as well to see what people are searching for in that niche.

I hope this is of use : )

I gonna go with drones for my niche. I bought my first drone and loved it. And with the drone, it draws so much attention from people, they frequently ask me questions about it. I still have much to learn, but I believe I k ow enough to use for my niche

That is an awesome niche. However, you might want to narrow it down.
What questions are people asking you about them? maybe try to use the most common question and then do a search in Jaaxy to find the competition.
Try this
I want to help people______
and fill in the blank : )

Then research it in Jaaxy.

Hi People,

i got a question about picking a niche, i found out evertime i move through the lessons i got more enlightenment about choosing a niche, Even though i passed the choosing nishe lesson.

Is it a good idea to change your niche after you choose one?

Regards,
Abdullah.

That's fine as long as you haven't started a website and created content for the first niche and then decide to change mid-way through - visitors to your site may get confused as to what your website is about.

ToLiNoLi Premium
Hello Abdullah,

If you believe it is a niche you feel better with, meaning you can bring in your own experience, it is easier to write about and your audience is bigger and has less competition, sure why not.

You can later on build a second website with another niche.

Hey everyone!

Got a little question here. Since I am fluent in both French and Italian I was thinking that a good way to scale my business would be to translate my blog (targeting keywords that would rank in those languages but I'm sure the content would overlap saving me some time).
My problem is I didn't find a way to target specific regions or languages with Jaaxy and the results I get are not relevant.

So is there a way to make region/language specific research?
Reply
ToLiNoLi Premium
Jaaxy only supports English.

You will need another keyword tool for that. Can't say which one as I did not need that yet.

Best try a google.

when choosing a niche,do i have to deal with tangible items only? what if am interested in dealing with a service for example counselling services, awareness programs or job opportunities.do you think it can work out for me or it's safer to deal around products? hope my point is clear

You can recommend every service or product if it is helpful to your target audience.
First comes the niche you are interested in and think you can help people looking for answers. Then you choose relevant "products" these can be all kinds also service or job opportunities etc..

Hi Naki
The topic of niches is always the one thing that gets most people stuck. Here's a way to narrow down your niche and get a clearer picture on how to tackle and approach this.

A niche is basically when a group of people are interested in a particular service, product, place, religion, animal, pretty much anything that people want or need.

Your job is to find that niche that no one else is profiting from. For example, let's say you are into shoes. Shoes is a super broad term right. Well, even if you chose women's shoes, you'd still be in that broad category.

So what then, right? Well, let's research and find out what exactly the search engines are saying. So by following the example that Kyle gives you, using Google search box, you'll get terms that people are searching for regarding women's shoes.

Here are some examples from Google using the alphabet technique.

Using A:
womens shoes arch support
Using B:
womens shoes block heel
womens shoes best arch support
Using C:
womens shoes comfort
womens shoes clogs
womens shoes champs

Ok, this list can get huge but for the sake of this example let's say you have a few keywords there that may target a specific THING about women's shoes, for example; arch support, comfort, best arch support, and there may be other keywords not on this list but you see my point. You start to target a specific area in women's shoes which then becomes your target niche to focus on helping women regarding women's shoes.

It can be anything. It could also be about the best shoe for women who work in hospital settings. Nurses are always on their feet and looking for shoes that will bring them that comfort for long hours.

If you can target those nurses by using the right keywords that will attract those nurses to your site, you can have comparison site, or a best of brand shoe site, a top 10 list of 2018 shoes, are your brain cogs turning yet?

A niche is not just saying, "oh I know about shoes, I'll talk about them and post a few brands and put a few links from Amazon and start bringing in the cash. I'll tell you right now that you will be very disappointed when you find out that doing that will just be a waste of your time.

So, going back to the example. If you're truly a women shoe master and you can research and find out what keywords women are typing in Google, Bing, Yahoo, and all these forums and sites that can give you that info regarding women's shoes, the more targeted and the less competition there is on that niche the better it is for you since you'll be the one dominating that niche.

Just writing this comment to you makes me wish I was an expert on women's shoes. I'd go to town on this niche idea myself. LoL! No, but seriously, anything can be a niche as long as you put the effort into it and do your research on it.

Look into long tail keywords and study a little on that. It will make your research much easier to get the idea of how to target that niche market your good at.

Think outside the box and don't think that there is only one way to do this. Just learn as much as you can from the videos and from those here in the community and you'll be an bringing in organic traffic to your site.

Hope this helps ya, give it a like if it does. It helps get the word out to others who may want to know about his too.

Best wishes to you Naki

I created my first website and I followed all the steps of the "Get Started" training. But for some reason the actual template is not showing up even though I chose one. I created a menu bar and that doesn't show up at the top of the page it just shows up as a list. I created a sidebar and it doesn't show up on the side it shows up as a list underneath my "About Me" post. I also added in a header image and the image won't show up either.

Did anyone else have these issues when they created their first website? If so, what did you do to fix it? Any advice is really appreciated!

When you are on your new created menu, you need to scroll down and check the box before `Top menu`. You have to assign your new menu to the place you want it to appear

Hi all,

Near the end of video Kyle mentions that you can delete keywords from keyword lists after you have written content about them.

I started wondering about this and wanted to know is this something we should follow as a practice or is it just an option? For example, is it something he has mentioned off hand?

What I want to know is why would I want to delete keywords after writing content about them?

For example, would I delete these just to be organized and tidy up my list of possible keywords?

Or is it because if you have already written content on a particular keyword you wouldn't want to be redundant by writing multiple posts or extensive content about this one keyword?
Reply
LeeMcQuay Premium
I think it is more about being tidy. My thing is before deleting, I add it to my keyword list on word or Google docs of ones that I have used in order to prevent duplication.

Okay. So I had originally joined WA with the idea of creating a blog based around camping and that lifestyle. However, after watching this training I really feel like I should start out with something less dynamic while I figure out how things work. I am thinking about just starting with cloth diapers, something a little more simple. Am I right in my thought process?

You can go in any direction you like, but the process really isn’t a complicated one. Building your website isnt any different no matter what your niche is. You’ll be writing content one post at a time once you get to that point and an article is an article is an article. You have the right training in front of you :) You’re gonna do just fine.

I have just started here as well and believe this training is going to be quite beneficial to me in helping teach me the basics through to more advanced skills in affiliate marketing. Good luck

Yes! You are exactly right!
Camping is too broad to start with as opposed to something like cloth diapers, which is a sub-niche of the over baby niche, and is most definitely a good one to start with. Think of all the parents that just use disposable diapers out of convenience. On the other hand, there is a large group of mothers/parents in the cloth diaper segment that are aware of the many benefits of using them.
Perfect niche! Go for it and I can't wait to see your success!

Unless I am unaware of some facts or my maths is far worse than I believe, those statements are completely untrue.

I saw in your profile that you've been with WA for about 6 months and are still hoping to make money soon.
I couldn't afford to be paying $49 every month for 6 months, without making something.

Hello, I am quite new here. Actually, when I went through this module, I still have a question (i may find my answer in next lessons) but I would like to know how I can identify which companies offer affiliate programmes in the niche I have in mind? Also, is there any website or clue to compare the commission rate different websites offer for their affiliates?
Appreciate to share with me your experiences

I am not sure what is your niche. Different programs offer different commission structure. You may one to go their affiliate site to check them out. I am afraid there is no comparison site that comprehensively compare the commission structure.

When I go into my Backroom, under Plug-Ins, there is a section at the top of the page that reads: This theme recommends the following plugins: Anti-Spam, Black Studio TinyMCE Widget, Contact Form 7, Elementor Page Builder, Instagram Slider Widget, MailChimp for WordPress, Meta Slider, Page Builder by SiteOrigin, Photo Gallery by Supsystic, Recent Posts Widget Extended, SiteOrigin CSS, SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, WooCommerce and Yoast SEO.

Do I install these or not?
Reply
Freedomseekr Premium
No, you don't really need to or would want to install all of those plugins...these are just what that theme's creator recommends to use and I'm thinking they've tested with that theme.

I'd recommend just sticking with what is recommended in the training here at first at least and then adding those you might need as the time comes to do so, if you even really need any others. One I know you definitely don't need is the Anti-Spam, since WA already takes care of that if it's hosted here.

Although some can be very useful, sometimes plugins can cause sites to slow down, especially if there are too many, so the less the better.

But, it's up to you...if you feel you might need to use one or more of their recommended plugins then give it a try..you can always deactivate it if you don't want it.

One thing I find helpful to do is to use a test site to test them on and how they work with whatever theme you're using first...that way it won't mess up your "real" site...

Anyways, I hope that helps...just my two cents on it and I myself never add all the recommended plugins for the themes I've used unless they seem like they'd really benefit my site.

Best wishes :) ~Sherry

wowsa that is a ton of plugins! Sherry /freedomseekr is right, no way, and you will find out with the training why you don't need a bunch of these
eg

with your site hosted here All in One SEO is usually already there if you go into plugins, you just need to activate it - that is the equivalent of Yoast SEO, you may decide to use yoast later but not together

woocommerce is for a shop

mailchimp is an autoresponder, many members complain about it suddenly deleting their lists on a whim, like it isn't really for affiliate marketers, but when you are ready for an autoresponder the members here will advise you on paid and free versions that don't cause probs

basically most of those you won't need here or you could find alternatives, and certainly play around with them on a free site if you like, but watch your site speed and purpose eg are you looking for a photo gallery, you already have the ability to add recent posts to the widgets, magistudios has done a webinar on css and some members have training on it but most people won't mess around with that

Yeah, some themes by default don't show pages in the header menu.

You can add these custom menus to organize your top menu in any way in which you like, as well as create sub-menus (for themes that will support this). You can also use these custom menus to add within your side widgets on your website (within your sidebar).

Here is a tutorial on how to create custom menus: I use custom menus on all of my websites (over-ride that default menu). It allows much more control and organization....both good things!

I soon found out that there seemed to be a limit of interesting things to write about and after I published the first two articles I became stuck.

I was on the point of giving up because I didn't want to carry on struggling to find something to write about.

However I'm now considering giving it another go with a totally different idea for a niche which is something I am genuinely interested in and could write a lot about. This time it isn't focused on one product. I'm wondering if this is the way to go forward. Back to the drawing board....

Since there are only two articles on the site, I believe that is something you can do. From now onward, focus on the other niche you have chosen. It should be okay (in my opinion). I believe you want to stick to this one as changing the direction would get the search engine 'confused' about the theme topic of your site.

As an example, I was thinking about niches and that I really couldn't find one that I was passionate about and could monetize it. So I took a day to just think about that with no hurry and I realized that yes there is something I am Passionate about and it can be monetized which is the real issue with niches here.

I have a question about the kind of niche one can earn money from. I'm interested in starting a website where I talk about the journey to recovery for all kinds of addictions and have a platform for people to share their experiences and advices. But then where would the part about choosing products to promote come in in a website of this nature. Please assist....
Reply
Thabo4 Premium
Hello since your market is a broad one where you are helping people with addictions I would focus my efforts on being in a personal development niche.

Within that niche I would narrow down to focusing on helping people with one or two addictions you are knowledgeable about.

This will help you to target specific people, because if you are broad it may end up not helping anyone.

So as you establish your authority you can then broaden out your addiction helping niche.

here is an example:
let's say you want to help people be effective individuals.

Since this topic is very broad you should focus down your niche to public speaking. That means helping people with being effective speakers.

Since this can also be broad so you can narrow down and say you want to help women be effective speakers.

Once you have developed authority in helping women with public speaking skills you can then start to broaden out to helping all people being effective public speakers.

Hope this helps :)

There is a right way and a wrong way to build a business online. Here at WA you are going to learn the proper process.

have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know Jean. :)

I just signed up yesterday and really think this is something I can be successful in. A question that may be answered later on in training and on the chance of sounding ignorant.. I get how the process works but how do you actually receive the funds once you do start making money? Pay pal or do you have to give a bank account number? Also, as I would eventually like to go premium but I would like to first get my feet wet at this as a starter member with the 2 free sites that are offered, is there an opportunity to make money as a starter or is it more practice? Thanks in advance!!

It depends on the affiliate program you're receiving payment from. Some pay by check, others via PayPal. The best earning opportunities come from Premium membership.

Hello Frank;
Just go through the lessons and then if you make a website from here, you can add your blog to it because we use Wordpress here also. If not then you would be paying under 2 different platforms.

If you already have a wordpress site which domain you registered with other registrar, you might want to transfer it to WA so that you can manage it from here using the site-manager and utilize all the tools provided in the site-manager.

Here how to transfer the domain to WA.

I think starting from scratch will give you more advantage if you have a website already people will know you for that website but if you start something new then you can have a better opportunity to open your market greeter.

Should you use a different web page for different niche's. On a broad spectrum. If I want to do something pertaining to gardening and also something related to tech. I would assume considering SEO and hitting you market you want a specific web page pertaining to the certain area it is focused on. Like health and fitness.

Yes, you are correct.
If you are planning on doing this, I would only start with one right now.
You want to get a good feel for it as well as to learn more about the ins and outs.
When you go to start on a second site, you will be able to learn from the mistakes made with the first one.
You definitely have more knowledge about it than I did when I first started out.

If you have 9 really good keywords then yes you can have a separate article for each one.

You can always add secondary keywords as well to help with your ranking for each post.

Try to step back and take a deep breath. Getting overwhelmed is the last thing we want you to feel, including Kyle.
As you progress through your training it will all start to make more sense to you.
You are a premium member, which means the lessons are always there.
You can go back through each one as many times as you like. I have done it on pretty much every lesson.
It is a lot to take in. Especially when you are completely new.

As for the keywords.
Yes, once you have picked out good keywords by the amount of traffic, qsr and seo, you will want to write a page/post on each one individually.
if you have 9 GOOD keywords already, then you should pat yourself on the back. You already have 9 post that you will be able to create. Awesome job.
The purpose of having more than one post are many reasons.
Each post may pull in different readers.
Ex. If my site is " the best home made cookies" one may come for the chocolate chip cookie recipe while another might want the ginger snap recipe.

You are doing an awesome job. Asking questions will be your best friend. No need to carry the weight of not knowing. believe in yourself, take deep breaths and step away if you need to.

I hope this helps you out.
If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
I hope I covered what you needed help with.

You gotta be reasonable here, brother :)

The free test drive is exactly that, a test drive. It’s there so you can see if you like the training and if it’s your speed before paying a dime. If it makes sense and you’re learning, you go premium and get 100% of the training.

If you go to a car dealership and test drive a vehicle you don’t call it a scam when they ultimately ask if you want to buy it, right?

The training here is thorough and the best I’ve found online. There are other platforms out there charging literally $15k-$20k for similar training, and they charge you module by module with each being more expensive than the last.

Here you get a free test drive and then your first month is basically the cost of 2 meals at McDonald’s. If it’s for you, take the plunge. If not, you walk away and literally didn’t pay a dime :)

Fernando,
Wealthy Affiliate is no where near being a scam.
You are able to remain a free member. Yes, it mainly benefits you if you are already knowledgeable enough to already know the general concepts of building your business and making it successful.
As for the premium, for those of us who don't have the knowledge needed in order to be able to do this on our own, it is a small price to pay in order to not only be taught the knowledge to do so, but to also be provided everything needed to do it.

It sounds like you are having a rough go and at such an early age.
You put the time in to go to college but aren't able to use the knowledge you gained.

Here, you will be able to use the knowledge that you gain. You have already shown you have dedication and commitment, by going to college.

I think if you gave it a chance here, you will be happy with your decision.

If not, it isn't always for everyone.

Wishing you the best in all you do,

We do not need tech training to think of niches, however, completion of tech training needs "niche". I am seeing the buzz here.

Imagine I have selected few niches before training. How smooth my training will go? I will evaluate my nitches during training and pick the one and I am on my way.

Hey Anusuya,

Good stuff... I had no particular niche in mind when I started and I was eager to learn any new techniques that I had been missing doing website designing on my own.

However, when it came time to select a niche, I ended up picking several different niches... created several different free websites... before I finally found 2 niches that worked for me... only to end up merging the 2 niches into one website simply because they truly were related.

Should you find it difficult to select a niche, here's a really helpful tutorial: Hope this helps you.

Hi, I'm Katy from LearnerVegan.
Me? I'm a vegan of 4-5 years who has noticed a lack of really simple, non-judgmental, information and support for those wanting to become vegan. I'm passionate about veganism and have worked as a manager in the fundraising side of marketing for 4 years (for a national charity). Not any more though! I want to be my own boss, put my ideas into action, work on my passion, and make a real difference to people.
LearnerVegan will aim to change opinions on veganism, blowing away the myths and stigma surrounding the lifestyle. Our key focus is to help anybody interested in the lifestyle (vegetarians, healthy eaters, new vegans) to make the transition and guide them through it. The website will be an information source with a blog element to it too.
I'm currently in the building and writing stage of LearnerVegan. Writing the masses of content, building the site, and drumming up interest on social media. I love writing and social media, but the web dev is my downfall! I'm great on a computer but have never created a website from scratch so I'm learning as I go along.
Looking forward to connecting with you all and sharing my finished creation.

Thanks for sharing. There is a real need to inform people about veganism. There is a lot of misunderstanding. So often veganism is equated with a political group. That is why so many have adopted the term "plant-based" or "nutritarian" instead. They do not wish to associate with all the politics of animal rights. This is noble of you. I am quite fond of plant-based nutrition, the secret to preventing and often healing the most chronic diseases and top killers in our world today. Thanks again.

no, that is actually two niches, UNLESS the product is in the same type niche as WA or else at best you are mentioning WA on your 'product niche', or your product on your WA niche - they've got to be really related

but it seems you need training to find your feet in this so you could either pick any niche to work through the ropes or choose a niche releated to your product

notice also you are talking about buying and selling a product, you'd be thinking of something like shipping, unless it is digital, maybe woocommerce, with affiliate marketing we don't need to buy products but it is certainly possible to use the training to help your website, so certainly work through the training

A website without a traffic is the same as opening a physical store without people coming to the store.

Hi Alison
First off I'd like to welcome you to WA. It looks like you've been on for about three days now. I know it's not possible to go through everything WA has on their site to determine whether this is something for you, in just three days.

Everyone, including yourself, had to start out by learning the basics and moving on to more advanced techniques to make your presence online. This platform cuts all the hype and "get rich" gimmicks that most people fall prey too.

There are entrepreneurs in this platform who are already established and successful but join to help and offer their guidance and advice to encourage the type of service WA has to offer. They can also make money by promoting WA, which is an incentive for them.

It's legit, honest, basic for the newcomer and there are advanced lessons that are given by other entrepreneurs who offer their expertise at no additional cost.

With that said, you say you already know how to create websites and post to them. That would put you ahead of most people who don't know how to do what you do and get you moving on to the next step which is to start getting organic traffic and monetizing your sites.

If you're not making money now then you can get the help you need here to get you started on monetization.

I've tried other systems that offer get rich in as little as a month. Then they bring out their well-designed slides that show exactly how much they're making, but when all is said and done they'll say toward the end that, they can't guarantee that you'll make that much in a month.

I've been there and done that way too many times. WA is no-nonsense and there are no surprises once you join and become a member. You get 7 days free to access all the premium features and a discount on the first month for $19.00

Do your due diligence and try it out for a month then if you truly feel that it's not for you, you can cancel before the month expires and no hard feelings. At least you gave it a fair look.

I held off from joining WA for five years because I thought it was a scam just like most of the systems out there. I too was frustrated and being taken for a fool, but I learned a lot from those experiences. You'll learn a lot from other members here who've been down that road.

I'll be honest, had I taken my time five years ago and not closed my mind to WA, I know without a doubt I would have been making a six-figure income, without a doubt. I'm still active and doing the online thing. Five years would have been more than enough time for me to have retired from my current job. This is just my opinion and experience that I share with you.

Don't make the mistake I did and come with preconceived notions that others may have instilled in you. If you're looking to monetize your sites and move forward then you've come to the right place. If you feel there is something better out there for you then I wish you the best and hope that you do find what you're looking for.

I am passionate about WA now that I know what they're about.

Be safe and God bless Alison

Hello folks!

I have come up with the niche of washable diapers and went through lessons 4-7.

Tonight while "sleeping" (having an hard time, too excited) I've thought: "But what I REALLY enjoy helping people with"?

I've come up with a niche which is a little bit weird but is creating a large deal of trouble here in Italy: children are left out of kindergardens if not vaccinated. There are actually thousands of parents trying to handle discrimination.

There is a way of overcoming this with the righ law actions and I've spent tens and tens of hours giving free help to parents via FB in how to approach this.

I have now a big question mark in my head, beside of you thinking if to help this niche is correct or not, just from a straight business viewpoint, if I start a blog on that, I would not know how to monetize it as there's no physical object to market!

Any suggestions? Would it be worthwile to start a website on this niche? Thanks for your unvaluable help!

Thank you!

I love your enthusiasm for getting started on creating something that you're passionate about. As I am a beginner, I know that I won't have the best advice but I've been dabbling in affiliate marketing for the past few months, so I assume giving my perspective/opinion won't hurt.

When it comes to monetizing your website, you'll make money off of the affiliate links on your site. So, the content you create will be based on a certain topic/niche that will be placed in front of people who need help solving a problem. People reading your articles will more than likely already be buying diapers regularly BUT you could create an article on "The Top 5 BEST Diapers for 6-24 Month Infants" and create your personal top 5, place your affiliate links to the products and bada-bing bada-boom, your article is now monetized.

I would recommend making posts like that weekly and mixing them in with insightful articles attacking major problems you've experienced, such as the issue that you brought up in your post. Considering that you could explain the solution to that problem in just one article, I don't think that your entire site should be based on that one issue; maybe a broader problem like the essentials of raising a 0-2 year old.

Like I said, I'm a beginner and haven't started my first website yet, but I presume this is the route to go. I hope I helped at least a bit. I wish you the best of luck on your path to success and helping others! You got this.

fonts and colors could be more to do with plugins or css, Marionblack and Loes have some training on css, or check out the search bar

fast is mostly to do with you making sure you use sitespeed, activate it in the WA hosting if you are hosted here, and making sure you stay on top of the number and types of plugins you have and optimize your images so you don't slow it down, pagespeed insights will help you see how you are doing there, again in Sitemanager

You can see some of the themes magistudios and Kyle used to use were high on simplicity like Omega, but new themes come along all the time. One type of theme not supposed to be so fast is Divi unless you know what you are doing. Sounds like you need to work through the training though, learning how to set up menus

The 12 themes selected for the free Starter membership were simple, responsive and clean, remember to experiment with a free site - and look around at other blogs in your niche to see what they are using

Your niche could be related to different video games. Make categories for genres of games. Within each genre, you could have different games and reviews for each one so people know if they are interested or not (maybe have some pictures too), then you could reference them where to buy this particular game. For example; You might talk about Zelda games under Action, RPG's, or Adventure. Perhaps explain specific ones, and reference people where to get those games. You do not have to stick to one series of game for a genre, the sky is your limit here.

You can make anything work if your content reaches the buyers and keeps them coming back.

Your niche will have competition, so it will depend on if you help your audience on the same level as your competitors or better.

Have you looked it up in Jaaxy? You can probably find a way to still choose that niche, but in a less competitive way.

You can also try the alphabet soup method in Jaaxy and in Google to see what others looking for or what questions they are asking.

If you ask yourself
I want to help people______
and fill in the blank, what would your answer be?

That's a brilliant idea but the thing i'm struggling with is the idea of having affiliate links in the future. Since most of the buying and selling of games is done on Steam and they don't have an affiliate program I don't know where I'd be able to make money. I know this is a long way down the line but it's something i'm thinking about since it will affect whether or not I can make a job of this in the future. There is an option for GOG and CD Key websites though so I could make that work I suppose. Just typing it out had me think about other options and I'm pretty sure I can work with those when the time comes. Thanks so much for the quick reply!

Yes what I'm interested in is probably a bit of an over saturated niche but I feel like it's something I could do justice with in future. I haven't looked it up on Jaaxy, in fact that's the first I've heard of it. Saying I'm new to this is an understatement. I had a quick search and it seems like it could be extremely useful. I will definitely sign up and make use of my 30 searches before creating my website. What do you mean by alphabet soup?

I want to help people find quality games.
This may be an unusual one but there's been countless times where my friends and I have been unsure of what game to dig our teeth in to next. I've spent hours searching online for new games or games I hadn't heard of to play with my friends and have some fun. Is that what you were asking?

Thank you so much for the long reply, the questions, the suggestions and the general info has been extremely helpful!

As you go further into the training Kyle teaches you to utilize so many measures to get the best result.
The alphabet soup is one of them. Have you noticed when you go to search for something in google it will try to suggest things before you have everything typed in? See screenshot below.

Kyle has training on this. I am providing you the link to further help you and so that you get it "straight from the horses mouth"

For now I suggest you go with what you are most passionate about. You can always change your niche after knowing what to do. You can also create multiple websites covering different niches in the future. To your success!

Finding a good niche seems like a tough task, but it's actually pretty easy. Actually, ANY niche can make money, so you definitely should not worry if your niche is profitable or not. As far as competition goes, that's also something to not worry about. If there's competition, it just means people are making money. That means you can make some too! As time progresses, new products come out, new technology is introduced, new ideas formed, and each change is an opportunity for "the new kid" to get a foothold and overtake established websites.

So the big question is not "what" is going to make money, but "what do you want to make money with?"

In other words, what are your own interests?
What do you think would be interesting to research and write about?
What do you want to help people with?

A good sentence to help you decide your niche is "I want to help people _____"

Helping people is the best way to make money in any business. Everyone wins. Short of that, pick something that you just find interesting.

There are literally thousands of affiliate programs, products, and ways to make money in any niche or industry if you get creative. All of that will come into focus in Level 3 of your training, so for now, we just need to look at getting your topic chosen, your website built, and then start creating awesome content for your business!

PS. Here's an article I wrote that can help you find ways to monetize a gaming website! Oh, and these two:
Reply
You could make your money through the people who like to have hard copies of games for devices like Wii, Xbox's, DS's, things like that

I've a think to build a website in multiple/other language once I've mastered WA, not limited to English.
Just like WA, I wish I could help others in different aspect.
WA community, any ideas or opinion, please share with me.
In advance, very much thank you and appreciate because
In the other hands, it definetely benefits me.
Reply
Kyle Premium
I would suggest you create your website focusing on just ONE language. When you try to translate your content (translators do a horrible job of this as they are far too literal), you take away from the overall site quality.

When you create an "additional" website, you create double the work for yourself without knowing if the campaign is going to be successful or not.

Both of these will lead to much more work and a lot less focus. Focus on one language or the other when starting out Adrenal, once you are successful with one you could diversify down the road and build out a second website and create a translated version of your website for an additional revenue stream.

Smaller group of people. Don't get me wrong I think its a great idea and I don't know what the hell I'm going to pick. But you do have the whole world as your audience.. Then again you can't target everyone at the same time. Just throwing stuff out there.
Reply
Kyle Premium
You can target the entire world all at the same time, that is the thing. As you get ranked in Google and other search engines, your reach is going to be folks all over the world and your customers are all over the world.

Think "globally" and you will really start to realize just how vast this opportunity is. Even the most obscure niches are massive!

Hello friends,

I'm struggling to pick a niche, mainly because I have too many interests/ they're too broad. For instance, I'm an actor and a writer, and while I have a lot to say about both topics, I'm not sure if there's a market there outside of journals or clown makeup.

I also like to play the piano, so maybe a website on digital pianos??

Thanks for the help, folks.

If I were in your situation I’d be writing about how to become an actor, how to get auditions, what’s an audition like, how do I prepare?
Or you could write, how to become a writer, how do I get published , short writing tips etc.
So I think you have so much you could write about, research what people are searching for
Hope that helps

I’ll be honest I don’t know, I’m still going through the course, where will be plenty of ways to monitise, the important thing is to write your ideas down first, I normally would do a pros and cons list, then go for the best option.
You could even write a small course of your own on one of the subjects, the most important thing is to get started
Hope this helps

Leroux, I understand totally. I have tried doing this before, and seem to get bogged down figuring out what the best niche is. At this point, I think maybe the best thing to do is "Just Do It" - Pick one and go for it! At least you will be going through the steps and learning the process. If it's not a moneymaker, then go to another topic.

I am going to use some aspect of pain. As an RN I know the official paradigm. As a chronic pain sufferer of over 10 years I also know the true reality of pain and suffering. And I can testify that unless you are a sufferer you know nothing about the subject. My niche will be along the lines of " Chronic Pain: The Truth as see in a Chronic Sufferer's Life"

Comments most welcome!

well truth is very subjective, I'm supposed to be in severe pain and was for many years but found solutions and ways to banish it with alternatives that the docs still won't take seriously

then I know others who will not try alternatives but use hypnosis to 'not notice' it

then there are others dosed up on meds and who cannot find any solution

if someone had offered me 'the truth' way back 14 years ago where would I be now?!

you certainly can find a niche in pain and your journey, have to be careful with claims being made though, legally and ethically

also depends on whether you need money and an income, then focus on how to monetize it

As for ethics and honesty, I plan to only tell things as the are either for me or someone else. I plan, eventually, to use the fact of being an RN. That is something I honor very much. My website has on it, "No hype, Just facts" and I am sincere about that. (Also, I answer to a higher authority as aq Christian. I take that seriously also.

Please answer about what remedy you used. I am off line for now. (Pain!)

How can we research and find the best key words for our niche to put as the home title. For example the key words that are getting the most traffic, or would it be better to choose key words that are a little bit more specific so we can rank higher? Also with the Description is this the text that is below the title when you search something in google?

Hi everybody, my name is Chrissie. I have dived into learning about affiliate marketing just last week with no prior experience. I understand what I have learned so far but cannot get my head around the website's purpose. I want to become an affiliate marketer who promotes and spreads other peoples products on line in order to get commission. I personally do not sell anything. I will be connecting customers to the seller via advertising if I understand correctly. So me creating a website? What am I going to put on that website? I would need to find a product first that I 'd promote and only then I can create a Landing page I believe.
so basically my question is. What do I put on my website as I do not own a business and /or sell anything? If I was to promote several different products for companies will I then need several websites that explain about the product? Product finding first then building a landing page?
.
Reply
LeeMcQuay Premium
Once you continue with the training, your questions will be answered.
You need to get your website and ready before you begin to sell.
Have you picked a niche yet?
You can choose products to promote based on your niche.
You will also need to create content. The reason for this is because that will be how you get the perspective buyer to your product.
Once you have a niche and your website up and running you can start looking for affiliates within your niche. You can promote any product that has to do with you niche.
I hope this gave you some clarity.

Hello, how is everybody? I'm new to WA and doing the tasks and #3 is join the discussion and give $ goals. So here I am and to be completely honest I am fed up with spending the majority of my time and energy working for other peoples dreams. I'm not lazy looking to get out of having to work but I think its time to re focus my energy. Not a greedy person, I don't need to make a billion $ to be happy. But if that happens great. The goal is for financial independence. To take control of my time and spend it my way. So far I like what I see with WA. Hopefully I can stick around and chase the dream with everybody.

I think the main underlying goal of over half the people here is to gain the "financial freedom" you seek, I know that is what I am after! It is an absolute sound goal!

I love your goals! I have the same mentality. In my office position, I was working smart and receiving accolades, but because of the oil crisis, our salaries were frozen for three years. On top of that, we kept having these really helpful and insightful workshops given free by our financial benefits planners, and quarterly five-year-plan/performance reviews. So basically, not only was I excelling without being paid what I was worth for three years in a row, but every quarter I was looking at where I wanted to be “five years from now” and I kept finding that I was feeling really stuck. Every time I looked at it at a finance workshop I felt the same. I felt limited.

I knew that if I could just focus this same energy and drive for my own business that I could live without that earning cap and break through that glass ceiling. And it’s not like I was making a huge amount to begin with... so basically I’m doing this because I know my worth and my value and it’s more than what I could get in an office environment! I want to live and work in an environment where I’m paid by my level of effort, and I can leverage my administrative abilities to continuously learn and improve as I go along. I know that we can do this. WA is an amazing resource, learning environment, and support group. Let’s make our dreams come true! :)

Hey everyone,

So after much deliberation, I think I have found a suitable niche!
I would love your feedback as to whether you think it could be viable.

I have suffered with a bad back my whole life and at present, I am having a particularly bad day! I am no expert or a doctor but thought that creating a niche and a website around my problem could help others while helping to cure myself along the way!
Causes / Remedies homeopathic and otherwise/ Products to relieve pain, Yoga positions and classes etc with affiliate links to all of the above etc.
Do I sound like I could be on the right track? Thanks!

This sounds like a great niche. I know people right off that bat with chronic back pain. It is a common ailment and people are always searching for remedies. Since you experience it yourself you can make your posts personal which will help users to trust your word. You don't have to be an expert just do your research, reviews and post about your own journey. Now all that's left to do is go through the training and build your website!

Vicki,
That would be a great niche.
I would search it up in Jaaxy to check out the competition.

Back pain in general will be highly competitive, I would think.
But there are ways around that.

You can use the alphabet soup method in Google to maybe help find something more specific and then check the competition in Jaaxy and go from there.

You have named a few ways to narrow it down. Start with the one of most interest to you and go from there.

I believe as long as your website is about back pain, you will be able to branch it out. You just want to have a website name/tite that isn't involved in HIGH competition when first starting out.

I hope this was helpful : )

That is a wise decision. Most mistakes are made when we get ahead of ourselves.

Unless you have done this before, then take advantage of the training.
If you complete a lesson or task and you are still unsure,
feel free to ask questions or you can even type the topic that you are needing more help with, into your Wealthy Affiliate search bar.
Many members have created their own training for what they may have had issues with or what they have seen others have issues with : )

I think you are going to do great.

Hey! I see you have already gotten a plethora of replies and "thumbs up!" Just wanted to throw in another thumbs up for ya! Back pain is a great niche, of course narrow it down and find your special spot with low competition where you can rule the marketplace with an iron fist! Hah, but it is an "evergreen" niche, meaning as far as we can see into the future, it will always be a problem and people will always be coming around looking for solutions, think of it like having a baby niche, as long as the human race exists we will keep popping out babies! Therefore there will always be new moms and dads looking for solutions! Like I said, find you cozy spot within the niche and you can totally crack this whole thing open and keep it running until we are all dead and gone and no one has back pain anymore.

So i have thought of my niche, and i think it is going to be revolved around soccer jerseys and accessories since the world cup is a major event happening this year, i just wanted to get some feedback regarding this niche what do you guys think? I am open to any type of criticism.

I think it is a great niche! Many people are into it. What about soccer/football are you wanting to do or offer? Also, I put both soccer and football because in many countries they call it football, not soccer. But calling it soccer is probably good because so many Americans engage the web.

I think thats a great idea I just got an email for soccer try outs so sounds like people will be googling gear! Best wishes- Dan

Hi Kyle, Thanks for the training. I am from Singapore and China. I am still trying to find my niche. I am interested in fashion, general health (like health diet, and things that is more related to daily life... but yet not sure about my passion still. And my plan to to find my niche so that i can creat my products. Is there any suggestions from your side?

In my opinion, though the question is not directed at me specifically, having read it, the best place to start is where you have an interest, it then evolves from there.

there's a lot of training in here on niche, remember to use the search bar top center of page to bring stuff up, and also feel free to work through the training on the free sites so you can experiment and not have to commit to any one niche till you know it's what you want, you'll get a feel for it as you work through

helping an audience with____ is the general question, then it should be something you either know or are willing to research and be happy to write about a few times a week for the next few months - that is why they say something you actually enjoy

take a look at some blogs on niche: And I have a ton of articles on niche in the health world eg: Magistudios has some training on it but that is for Premium members

I can't pick a niche. I have knowledge of all sorts of things, but not sure what I would like to continue to write about. I kinda flow where ever my curiosity takes me. So I don't know if I can narrow it down to just one.
These are things I do:
-gardening
-kinda artsy
-I research health issues
-I am an elementary teacher, by trade.
-I am a mom/housewife/work on our property (which includes splitting wood, stacking wood, filling the wood-heat boiler, cleaning, cooking, raising kids, we have a dog, we have put in a driveway, I garden veggies and flowers, I run the household budget and pay bills, I research online and read a lot)
-I like to do things efficiently and as easy as possible, there's always a better way right?
-I am trying to get an orchard going on our property which I'd like to turn into a U-Pick
- I took a Young Literature class in college as the start of a masters degree in reading instruction and the prof said I should consider book reviews.....can I monetize that?--well I guess so...Amazon :)

Any suggestions?
HOnestly I just don't know.

-I thought about gardening tools, techniques
-Tools I use around the house/garage/homestead
-ways to be an entrepreneur - i try to help my son by helping him create his own wood selling business which is in it's second year.

Anyone of those items would make a good niche. I say pick one you know you can write about and go with it. You can always move onto the others as time goes by.

As a beginner the easier it is to write about the subject the quicker you will be to provide new content. Content at the beginning is important you need to try and get at least 2 posts per week. The more the better.

Also being knowledgeable in your niche will make it easier to answer questions on comments etc.

I can see you have many direction to choose from. If you follow the training provided here, it's all about building your first site with a chosen niche - something that you really passion about.

Maybe this will help you a bit.
1. List down all the niches that you are interested to venture
2. Do research if those in the shortlisted have potential - answer question like are there people looking for the information about (your niche).
3. Choose the winner and start focusing on this one first. If there are more than one winner niches, hold the rest until the first one get established and getting traffic (visitors).

With the above process, hopefully you will be more focus which is far more rewarding that trying to hit everything in one go.

Hope that helps a bit.

:)

Ok, maybe it's because I'm doing this on my phone, but, the admin(?) Screen doesn't look anything lime Kyle's in the training video. The update thing came up and I updated everything but I don't know how to look at it or delete the dummy content. Did I somehow navigate wrong? I am totally adrift in this ...

I was so overwhelmed picking my website theme. I have quickly realized that if Kyle says "don't spend too much time on this right now" or "don't worry too much about....." he absolutely means it!! :)

You may need a PC or laptop in order to view certain content. I already deleted my post and page but see attached screenshots of where to find them. Hope this helps!!

Hi,
I have a question about how to get the phone number that was on the web page I chose. I got rid of the generic verbiage that was under the title but to the right of that page on the top there is a phone number to contact the creator. How do I get rid of this?

Thank you,

Vicki

Most of the time you can't remove that.. it's the 'price' you pay for using that particular free theme.

I wonder if I can run this niche idea by everyone. (Thanks in advance.)

So, I’m fascinated with the location independent lifestyle. And I have background in and a great love of homeschooling. Most homeschool families struggle financially and certainly cannot travel very much. So, what might my niche be that incorporates producing money independent of your location (through WA) and that can help homeschool families become Worldschool families instead (lots of homeschooling tips)?

Should I go through Bootcamp, too, or just the Affiliate Certificaton training?

If you want to have your own niche, you need to go through the Affiliate Certification first. Later is you want to focus on promoting WA, you can do the Bootcamp.

There are quite a few homeschooling affiliate programs to choose from.

Hi Laura,

I must say, that is an interesting twist.
From the sound of it, You seem to want to promote WA but narrow down the target audience to approach homeschoolers who suffers financially. But really, this may as well be to anyone who wants to be free financially, regardless of their location.

The only question is, do You plan on making the main source of income through the affiliate program, provided in here at WA or do You plan to get them commissions through a partnership with Walmart or Amazon as an associate and start promoting valuable products.

If you'd like to "break the code" to this question yourself, then You should ask yourself this simple question...
" Is homeschooling the niche, or the target audience? "
- Whatever your answer to this would be, that would settle it.
(The answer would automatically be one of the two, but at least now You will see it too. :-))

Momentum 22; If You, however, plan on doing both, then the online certification course is Your answer, as the site wouldn't cover WA and all its different techniques, but the articles and products about Homeschooling.
In general, It is recommended to only focus on one of the two. And since You're just getting started in here, making reviews for WA and promoting their different areas in accordance with Your niche wouldn't be quite as effective as focusing a dedicated site only focusing on WA, having insights from some experience to bring into the content as well. :-)

Last but not least, wait with anything to promote until You've generated some traffic and put out at least 5-10 quality posts of at least a thousand words each. 3000 is preferred for the most result, but 1000 words are ok to start off with at the beginning.

Let me know if You found this helpful in any way.
Cheers :-)

Does WA tell you what affiliates you can sell for. I know I need training but I would like to know some of the products. I was thinking art or travel how am I supposed to know who will let me advertise for them may be I'll see a product and have an idea for a niche. So do they tell us who to use and who sells what or do we find these companies on our own. I really don't want to sell training courses for affiliate marketing maybe spiritual courses but who would let me advertise? I feel i need to review products before I decide on my niche ty in adv

Any product you can think of, someone has an affiliate for it. There are several hundred thousand affiliates covering millions of products.
You will be told in the training which affiliates WA recommends most and many more that are available.

Hi all,
I need to move forward to see myself making something before I can upgrade to Premium. If not I may have to jump ship as I can't afford the premium fee and don't even know if I will make it back. I have tried many online money schemes but no money made.
Thanks.
Reply
chender684 Premium
This is not a scheme nor is it a scam. If you want to be successful here, it takes dedication and effort. It is not a get rich quick scheme. Plan on it taking 6 months to a year to make money. It works but it does take time to get established.
You can definitely as many of us already have.
Giving up is not the answer.
Get all you can out of the starter membership and then find a way to update to premium by getting rid of something you don't really need.

Hope this helps, best of luck!

Hi i can see that the current joining fee is $19 for the 1st month thereafter it's $49 every month. So for people in other countries does it mean we have to convert the $ to other currencies and that should be what is paid or do we have different amount for different currencies.

Hey, I am thinking about doing the camera niche, I do know that it is quite a broad niche so maybe I could do DSLR cameras or sport action cameras. Do you think that would work? Or could I work with the camera niche then also do types of cameras?
Reply
feigner Premium
you are looking at products rather than helping to solve problems - as you go forward hopefully this will become more clear.
so rather than promoting dslr cameras, you will be helping people get the best quality pictures they can. or carrying the smallest amount of equipment and getting the best results from a day in the countryside.
with this you can easily cover - compact cameras, bridge cameras, dslr cameras and all of the associated equipment.
i am sure you have had your share of problems getting the pictures you want, so help others have an easier route to getting theirs.
good luck

Hi Vanessa. Honestly you can choose DSLR cameras as your niche as well, but you can think on many different ideas within photography. Maybe DSLR cameras help to take certain type of pictures or maybe there is some experience you have that you want to share with everyone.
Anyway you can always start with one idea and branch out to other ideas within photography.

Let me know if you have any ideas that you want me to brainstorm more

Hey Vasiliy. Thank you. That makes sense. Yeah, the photography niche is big. I actually don't know much about it, here and there. I have wanted to learn more about it. I was doing a bit of research and maybe I thought it would be better if I did travel photography. I don't know though if it would work. What do you think?
Reply
Vasiliy Premium
Hi Vanessa.
When deciding on the niche make sure you are passionate about it. Is travel photography something you always were excited about? Because once you choose this niche you will have to do some research and come up with content ideas. This comes very easy when you like what you do.

After that you will have to see what are you going to promote/sell in travel photography? This way you can see what affiliate programs are available.

You can tell me what is your view in this, what type of products you are planning to promote?
Reply
vanessago Premium
Hey Vasiliy, I am actually passionate about it. I tend to travel a bit and I love taking photos of the cities I have been to. The products I have been thinking about promoting are the best cameras to take for traveling, travel gear, best places or sites to visit in the cities. I have googled a couple of sites that have a list of travel and photography affiliate programs.
Reply
Vasiliy Premium
Oh OK. This sounds like you already did a research.
Basically you can have your website's theme as travel photography and first work on reviewing best cameras for traveling and later on you can always add more stuff, just like you mentioned different equipment, tools, accessories etc...

The idea is not to try and cover everything at once but actually start with something, build your base and later scale up. You want to build your website as your brand that will become credible.

If you follow the training closely it will guide you through the process and as you build the website you will have more ideas as to how you want to structure your website. This is pretty exciting stuff.
