Should I go for a new website to promote WA or do it in my existing niche website?
I have a website in the self-development niche and I have a few posts on it. I am going through Level-3 of the OEC training and enjoying every bit of it. I never thought I could actually set-up a website and write about my niche!
I am now looking to promote WA and started with the Bootcamp training. My predicament is should I go for a new website or should I promote this through my existing website?
Look forward to your feedback.

Great Post Rudolph and some good answers as well, if it helps further this is my take on it
WordPress is like having your own online store, you can do anything with it and mix and match to suit, a bit like Tesco and / or Walmart, if you follow me
I have two websites, one is a review website, for all things affiliate marketing, but which mentions WA a lot in terms of hosting and such like and also mentions my second site in it as well
The other site is an online training site, specifically dedicated to one thing, but again with lots of reference to WA.
Its entirely up to you and what sits comfortably with you, but my way of thinking is like this
Which ever your niche, if you have a nice looking blog, which you are sharing, someone / many people are going to ask, who its hosted with and how you got one like it, so you can reference WA on it, especially in terms of hosting, because there is a lot of porr hosting out there
Hope this helps a bit
Thanks a lot Dave. That's an aspect I did not think about!
Appreciate you taking your time to give this feedback.
Its no problem, lots of people get hung up for want of a better term on keeping things seperate, but I prefer the supermarket analogy myself
Like WordPress it has a lot, but you don't a;ways need everything
Taking it one stage further and using Tesco as an Example again
The Tesco espress stores, just have the most essentail items, so you can have one main WordPress site, for your niche if you like, but with references to your WA hosting if you prefer
Either way you don't lose
Hi Rudolph
I feel having WA mixed in with your Self Development niche website would be conflicting to people who are searching looking for your niche as hep and then see it's about joining Wealthy Affiliate.
It will lead to mistrust in some ways and a little misleading to people - Only my thoughts
Self Development as a Niche that is neverending really and I would continue to grow this until you complete the OEC as then you will know more about your direction and abilities as well
I hope this helps

Hi Rudolph I started a Bootcamp site after I had finished the OEC training and had my niche site set up. It was about 4 months in.
Most days I wish I hadn't done this! I would be much further along and I expect making a lot more sales if I had stuck with my niche and put all my energies into blogs for the one site. You do dilute your efforts when it is spread across two.
Having said that I would definitely recommend you finish the OEC training before starting Bootcamp.
You need to have a clear understanding of who your niche is before you decide whether to combine or keep separate. If those coming to your self-development site have no interest in online business then you will alienate them by starting to waffle on about affiliate marketing.
Hope that helps some.
Thanks Heidi
Definitely makes sense now to me. Thanks for taking the time to guide me through.
Regards
Thanks for this information. I started with Bootcamp and now in Phase 5. I feel strongly that I must do OEC when I finish this. Perhaps I made a mistake starting with BC...but I feel like its too late to make a U-turn now.
Feeling a bit confused, to be honest...
Any Advice, please?
Like someone said, Life's greener on the other side!!
What I have realised is, we gotta play to our strengths and do what we feel passionate about. Thats the reason i started with OEC and realised that I can write as well :) Others start with Bootcamp because they find that their interest and passion lies there and through this platform, offer their services to people who are looking out for help.
Bottom line, I believe its a personal choice and whatever you do, do it best. Just like I will follow through with OEC and build it :)
I would promote it through your existing website otherwise you risk diluting your efforts at this early stage.
You could angle it from the point of view that starting your own online business is part of the self-development journey and you need the tools to do it, hence WA - that kind of thing.
Rudolph,
That is not recommended until you have finished one of the
training completely - how far do you have your niche website
built out? Most people find it difficult to keep up with one
module of training and one website and going back and forth
will confuse you just so you know. I would suggest you finish
the OEC training prior to starting the Bootcamp and yes, a
new website should be done for promoting WA - niches are
best kept on individual sites :)
Susan
Thanks Susan.
I am into level 3 and only 6 posts yet. Taking my time to write! But I guess I have to put in more efforts to get this up and running. Will look to complete OEC first and have a base ready.
Thanks again.
Rudolph,
Completing the OEC will prepare you for Bootcamp - five months
and I am on Level 4 of Bootcamp and still trying to work my
way through it - it is a tad harder even if others find it easy LOL

WA is about online business, so, it is ideal to promote sites that operate within your niche but you can simply tell a lot of people about it on social media and in online forums. Give them your link and let them know that you belong to the same community and you've studied through the online entrepreneur certification at WA.
So it wouldn't be necessary to create an online business niche site purposely because you want to use it to promote WA if this is not your niche. Thanks for asking!

Thanks Israel :)
