Hey Heidi, I think you missed my follow-up comment on Dylan's training so decided to post here. You said:

"I was recently approved as a full affiliate and apparently they do check your site for compliance so it must have been ok."

Q: What do you mean by "approved as a full affiliate"? How do we know when they do a second approval?

Hi Heidi
Thank you for returning my follow up I so enjoyed Best of Posts

Oh how wonderful to have the squirrels, I wish we lived somewhere with wildlife like that. Most of our wildlife here in Australia aren't that friendly lol.

I have a stable cat called Happy who is an absolute joy, he keeps the horses company and the mice down, as well as two house cats at home.

I have a friend in a different state that feeds the wild Kookaburras on her balcony every afternoon.

Heidi,
I was reading some on your website about understanding a horses signs by listening. Interesting how that is so similar to listening to humans how we listen to our animals. Everything works out better when we do. This is one major part I took away from reading your post. Very good! the website is well done. You will be very successful with it.
Thanks for the follow also.
Take care,
Bill

Thank you for your lovely comments Bill. I sure hope it is successful in the long run. I'm hoping to give up my day job to do this full time at some stage.

I agree with you I think as humans we talk and do too much when we might be better off just slowing down and listening to our friends, family and our animals.

Following you also.

Hello Heidi! I love being a DINK while it lasted. I don't think I heard this acronym in a long time. Now we have children and more like SINK while I am working on the self employed thing. Heee... heee... Heee... I can taste successes in the horizon.

Best wishes for a wonderful year

Hi. Heidi.
Paul Mindra here from Ontario, Canada.

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your network. I graciously accept by following you back.

Welcome to The Wealthy Affiliate community. I am very pleased to make your acquaintance.

The term 'DINK' is not as used nowadays as what is was in the past. I remember the years between 1975 and 1995 when it was a common term.

I think it is going to come back. Too many people are struggling to make ends meet and the addition of children into the mix may or may not be a chosen decision by many. Kind of sad.

I'm sure that your furry friends hold you to as much if not more responsibility than most kids.I'm not being negative in any way.
If I could have afforded a horse for my son and our family while he was growing up would probably have led to direction in all of our lives now that would be different. All things worked out though. Choice is the name of the game.

I look forward to sharing, learning and serving with you as we all move forward here.

Kindest regards,

Paul.

Thanks for the follow, following you back. I'm not sure about taking off but I have written a lot of posts lol.

I understand now what it takes to make this a success, but as I also work full time it's a bit of a struggle to keep the content flowing.

Your wife is a lucky lady, I'd love to be working with my horses full time, but hopefully this will at least give me more time with them.

Hi Heidi,

I was having trouble with my niche, but the members here have been so helpful. I would like to run my idea past you and get your opinion since you went broad with your niche as well. Here is my idea. Instead of blogging content about everything, I focused it on making the old new again. From what I understand I can create affiliate relationships with specific stores like Amazon or Walmart, or with products like Minwax, or Black and Decker. So my thought is say I do a blog post about building a butcher block countertop over the top of my old laminate topped island. Couldn't I incorporate a link for example to Home Depot for everything from the safety goggles, to the saws, the sanders, the stain, the sealer and even the oil used for upkeep? Then the next blog is on a refurbished dresser, and I do affiliate links for the sandpaper, to the paint I used? Am I on the right track here???

I think repurposing is a great niche. Making old new again I would have thought is quite fashionable and people will need/expect to spend money, which is of course why we are doing what we do.

As long as the blogs focus is on helping people achieve what they are looking for - so say someone Googles "repurposing my kitchen bench top" they find your site and your blog needs to help them achieve this.

So your niche is people who want to upcycle and repurpose.

I am no expert but I think it's perfect :)

My apologies to the two people who's pages I commented on through the SiteComment section last night.

I have completely misunderstood the intent of this section. I thought it was to offer constructive criticism on the posts but I see now that it's to gain actual comments on your site.

I did read the how to make comments bit but obviously I interpreted it wrong.

No wonder they have been disapproved! So sorry for messing you around, rookie mistake.

Good day to you Heidi, my name is Ken and I welcome you to WA and thank you for the follow. I'm following you back. I assume they do not say that "DINK" anymore - I don't know what that means, by the way. LOL
By learning how to market online you can accomplish anything you desire. You can start an online business and have the option to grow your income while you still keep your 9-5 job. I suggest you first learn from the Get Started Here section [top left green box]. You'll learn how to choose a niche, create a niche website, and how to do keyword research.
I look forward to working with you and wish you much enjoyment and success in your online journey.

Hello Heidi

Congratulations on going Premium.

I just wanted to say that while there is much value to be had here at Wealthy Affiliate, it can sometimes seem very overwhelming, with everything that has to be done.

My advice from experience is to focus totally on one of the training directions, the green certification OR the Bootcamp, and to stick with that until you have finished it.

Wishing you every success with your business.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Thanks Kyle I didn't want to bug you quite so soon LOL, I have decided on new horse owners as my niche market, just not sure if it's too broad? I'm thinking to build the site with helpful information and then of course links to products they might need. I also thought this way blogs could be used for trending products. Your thoughts appreciated.

That is completely fine and if that is a direction you are passionate about, I would recommend that you do it!
