For Angela and Alexx
How'd we do? More importantly, how'd Google do?
For everyone reading this (if you're able to access it) I'm testing Google's speed to index new WA content, and whether it indexes blogs marked as "Turn Sharing OFF" and "Set as Premium Only".
Stay tuned for test results...
Later that same evening
This blog test originated in a observation Angela made, pointing out that we could turn off sharing and restrict viewing to Premium members only by using the gear icon at the top of the blog page while creating / editing the blog. Who knew?
I decided to test how quickly Google indexes WA, and to find out how well Premium only content is protected. To see how I carried out the test and screen shots showing the results of the test, see https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/supportworx/blog/w...
The Bottom Line?
Google is unbelievably fast, indexing and reporting my new blog post in under 20 minutes. Indeed, they may have been much faster - that was the first time I checked to see if the test blog was in their index!
I also found out that WA is pretty good at protecting content that is restricted to Premium members only.
Lastly, I found out that there are still things about WA I don't know. I'm still not sure what "Turn Sharing OFF" is all about. Thanks for pointing out the controls for "Turn Sharing OFF" and "Set as Premium Only" Angela!
Both are turned back on, so all can see and share (and so ShirleyWoon doesn't think I'm mean for not sharing)!

It's not really something anyone HAS to know Tim - it was getting late and I was curious...

Awesome test Dennis. :) Turn sharing off (in my opinion) would be for any blog you write in which you want to make sure the content cannot be shared via the FB like button or any other social shares.
For example, if I choose to share something personal but only want to share it with my WA family.
It sounds like we have a winner Angela!
I'd wager that's a good guess - but the G+ icon still shows (and works) regardless of whether sharing is on or off. Perhaps only the author can still share?
Dennis
Hmmm. "Turn sharing OFF" sounds like you're not sharing Dennis.
You're MEAN!!
Bless you anyway..........
Shirley
You got me Shirley. Take a look at the bottom of the blog post again. Sharing is back on - but I still don't know what it does for certain!
Dennis
OK you're forgiven. But I'm keeping my eye on you, so beware .....grrrrr. ;0)
Seriously tho' what's that all about?
Hi Shirley -
Oddly, I have no idea whether I was being mean or not. Angela suggested that the setting turned off social sharing, but when I tested to see if I could still share, it worked without a problem. Perhaps only the author can still share, but it's turned off for everyone else (??)
One of life's little mysteries, I guess.

I give up. I'll just save this for future reference and think about it later, like in 3 years time. Bless you dear.....
Shirley
Wait no longer Peter. The results are in - check it out up in the continuation of the blog!
